Superb collection! My experience with browning of pages in this series is similar. I am convinced that this is due to the acids in pulp paper, the exposure to oxygen and light which accelerates the deterioration. The tops of my books are darker than the bottoms, and the insides of the covers are slightly browner on the edges.
Nightshade was the first one I read and was absolutely fabulous. Have a couple of gaps towards the end of the run, but have most of these books My parents alway said 'why are you wasting your money on this crap, it won't be worth anything later on'... whos laughing now, some of these are worth quite a bit :)
Thank you. What a cool collection .And the cover art !!! Sci fi with some fantasy...even the titles are " out of this world " lol . I would love to get a post card collection of them. Thanks again to you and George . Ps hey am i first ... 😉
It is interesting to see Jim Mortimore here since I am aware of him through the Big Finish monthly adventure release "The Natural History of Fear" which is in my top 5 Big Finish Doctor Who audios.
What a great collection of Doctor Who books. Beautiful artwork and you know great tales. Good stuff Jules. And what's this about your shop " Purple Haze " ? Sounds like my kind of shop. Please tell us more sometime if you can. Sounds really interesting to me.
I first attempted to go through this range of novels in 2018, and got through fifteen of them before giving up. There were some really amazing stories in the mix ('Exodus', 'Nightshade' and 'Lucifer Rising' being the stand outs) but there were some which I honestly found to be downright awful ('Genesys', 'Transit', 'The Pit') and one which I found utterly confusing ('Time's Crucible'). Decided to give the series another go this year in the hopes of getting through all sixty-one main adventures, because there are some later stories that I'm really intrigued by.
Like any big series, there are both good and bad ones amongst the mix. On the whole though they are generally of a great quality and well worth persevering with.
What are the protectors that are protecting the books called and where can I get them? I want to get a few so I can protect my copies of some of the VNA.

That seems to be the way with these and many other books from the period. These copies were in exceptional condition though, 99% perfect👍🙂
Wish I was born a couple decades earlier so I could have grabbed all of these on release. Lungbarrow costs a leg these days
It's true, I remember selling it back in the day when it first got published.🙂
I remember seeing them in WH Smith a lot back in the day-superb cover art!
Absolutely, really has that SF feel🙂👍

Hi Kendra, these were perhaps his earliest published works?
Happy to see them in such beautiful condition... OMG I'm jealous
These are real beauties aren't they?!
Same, i thought i was the only one who had everyone of them. Subbed ❤️👍😃
Great stuff. Thanks 👍
@@JulesBurt love that you have brand new versions. I have managed some new versions. Lucky man.
Thanks Paul!

The yellowing is due to the acid in the paper
👍

These are just normal polypropylene comic bags as used on American comicbooks. Quite easy to find on eBay, I recommend the Ultra Pro brand.👍
@@JulesBurt Thank you! Is there a specific measurement I should look for in these bags? I don’t want too much empty space with these book protectors.
A few millimetres thickness is ample 👍
Are you planning on doing the doctor who steelbook collection
No Ben, not got those although I do like them👍
@@JulesBurt that's fair enough
👍
Buy some Funko pops
I'm not a fan, sorry😒
