@DCdanger That is too difficult for me and as much as I like Black Diamond and Beth they are not my favourites. I prefer the slightly more obscure Getaway, Strange Ways, Mainline, Hooligan, Baby Driver, Hooked on rock and roll and Nothin’ to lose chorus
Wow! Pete can swing! He was my childhood hero and influenced me to start playing drums at age 12 when the Kiss Destroyer album was released. I recall reading that he was a student of Gene Krupa, but I never really heard that influence until now.
@@garrycollins1475 - no you are wrong he was swinging just not continuously from time to time his snare shots were right on the beat unfortunately. Hs fills had swing he was just incapable of completing the lines but he each time he started out correctly and then faked the hard parts because he's not that technical but overall he pulled off a swing feel no question.
Honestly, it's Paul Stanley who started all of the hate towards Peter and Ace. He only needs to look in the mirror to see who the weak link was in that band. Ever notice how their entire setlist is made up of all the old songs?
You could tell Peter was just enjoying himself playing. Reminds me of the music in the old cartoons when I was a kid. Looks he sat in for someone's special occasion. Way to go 🐱man!
Wow!!! Simply amazing, this is the reason for what's my favorite kiss member !! The one and only catman will live forever as a original drummer member. Rock on Mr. Criss !!
the tune is Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman, Benny's drummer at that time was Gene Krupa so this is the song that PC should know the best & his solo in KISS was taken from Krupa's solo...
@@elmhurst86 Peter Criss was an avid art student and a swing aficionado.[7] While playing with bandleader Joey Greco, Criss ended up studying under his idol, Gene Krupa, at the Metropole Club in New York.[8] Eugene Bertram Krupa, was an American jazz drummer, bandleader and composer. Krupa is widely regarded as one of the most influential drummers in the history of popular music. His drum solo on Benny Goodman's 1937 recording of "Sing, Sing, Sing" elevated the role of the drummer from an accompanist to an important solo voice in the band.
@tlaneb1 Lol! Which site did you copy this from? You're obviously not a serious drummer. As great as Gene was, the height of his influence was almost 100 years ago. Do you even know who some of the best jazz drummers on the planet are in 2023? I love Peter Criss, but to give the impression that he is a "Jazz influenced" drummer to prop his stature up as a great musician is mis-information.
Thank You Peter. You do the swing justice. My favorite as well. I met Gene Krupa in 1966. He didn't like me much as I remember, due to the fact that I was a little kid. Ha!
Peter Criss was my hero for a long time, and I learned a lot from that guy when I was a kid learning drums. As far as the count and what your foot did and the hands and so on. Drove my mom crazy. Yep.
No way peter could do live shows. He sounds decent here, but this is probably all he played. Peter's biggest weakness has always been strength and endurance, and he's nearly 80 now, so that probably has certainly only gotten worse. I bet his hands were already hurting after this little set.
Totally Killin it!!! Pete still plays fkg amazing. This might be the best I've seen him play actually. Brilliant. The man is the reason I play drums. He taught me how to play pretty much.
VAMOOOOS Peteeeeer ❤ desde que me compré el cassette Dressed to kill en la disqueria La Pirámide en la estación Boulogne y escuché tu bata en Room Service que te amo y amo tu batería. No te mueras nunca Gato querido, mi Kiss favorito. Diego de Boulogne.
This made my day! One of my favorite drummers and the reason I play drums swinging the big band. It's great to see Peter playing. Keep it up, Pete! You have many fans and you have inspired many drummers.
Peter has always been a jazz drummer at heart. Respect that he’s past 75 and , though not a metal / hard rock drummer anymore , he’s still a legend
Peter is Awesome, still my favorite Kiss drummer. Glad to see him having fun and enjoying himself.
You can see he's far happier here than going through all the crap he had to put up with working with Gene and Paul.
It's where his heart is and he's having fun. That's all that matters.
Long live "GATO"
I agree, and so pleased for him.
Peter seems to be relaxed, content, and comfortable with himself. I'm glad to see it!!!
Probably the worst thing for his mental health was to re-join KISS for the reunion tour from what I have heard over the years.
Peter is now the other side of 75 and still swingin’. Also an amazing vocalist.
Black Diamond was always my favorite KISS song because of Peter's singing
@DCdanger That is too difficult for me and as much as I like Black Diamond and Beth they are not my favourites. I prefer the slightly more obscure Getaway, Strange Ways, Mainline, Hooligan, Baby Driver, Hooked on rock and roll and Nothin’ to lose chorus
beth was my fave
@10amp That was the big one and even my mother likes it
@@dcdanger6151 tru. No1 can do justice to Black Diamond like Peter can.
This man is one of the reasons I play drums.
I hear ya! Peter and Mick Tucker of (The) Sweet are primarily the main reasons i ever reached out to pick up a pair of sticks. RIP Mick 🤟🏻
Same here.
Me to, Brother!
Me as well Mr Gary, he was a very large influence on me. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Criss twice.
Me, too..Him and John Bonham.
Man, that CAT can swing! 🤘🤘
Wow! Pete can swing! He was my childhood hero and influenced me to start playing drums at age 12 when the Kiss Destroyer album was released. I recall reading that he was a student of Gene Krupa, but I never really heard that influence until now.
No, he can't! Earthbound and struggling 😮

You are a saddo gary.@@garrycollins1475
I could never understand the hate Peter gets for his drumming. This is awesome and if there was no Peter there,d be no Kiss.
It was the makeup. Same reason people use to say Ace couldn't play. If they didn't like the image then they could't hear past their eyes.
Honestly, it's Paul Stanley who started all of the hate towards Peter and Ace. He only needs to look in the mirror to see who the weak link was in that band. Ever notice how their entire setlist is made up of all the old songs?
@@chrisd913and how Peter and Aces solo records during kiss were hits yet Gene and Paul's sales tanked.Says it all.✌
@@chrisd913no it was their lifestyles that created bitterness with paul
Let's face it without Peter, and Ace, there would have been no Kiss
I love to see this for him. Just feels like this is where his heart is at... and this sounds fantastic!
Legend! That FEEL and that TONE! The one and only Peter Criss. Thank you Catman!
He should do select dates with a jazz band wearing a shirt and tie with the cat makeup… call it “Dressed To Chill” 😸 😉
😄
Brilliant
Better start passing out the collections plate so he can pay Gene to license the cat makeup.
Catman is still purring 😻😻😻😻😻
It's wonderful to hear Pete drumming to a different style of music. Still got it Pete 👏👏👏
Peter started out in big band
Wow. .. ! He looks like someone who's embraced how old he is and doing it in style, instead of hiding behind wigs and sunglasses.Very impressive.
It looks like Peter is really enjoying himself here, and that’s what playing music is really about.
The one and only original Catman. Peter Criss ❤❤❤
Glad he is alive and well 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Too cool! My friend was the keyboard player on this. I couldn't believe when he mentioned he got to play with Peter!
What an honor, I imagine.
@NobleBruv yes! My friend is usually brutally honest. He said Peter had some serious chops!
Paul says Peter can't play..He's awesome..kiss alive..100.000 years song is what got me playing Drums
Hi! OMG! I absolutely love Peter! Way to go Catman! It’s Amazing to me that he still plays the way that he does! Love it!😍
fantastic peter criss
Yes very joyful , great Peter love it
So great to see him back and having fun!
fantastic Peter
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
Yeah! The old Cat's still got it! What a pleasant surprise coming across this vid. A Krupa Cat Kiss!
You could tell Peter was just enjoying himself playing. Reminds me of the music in the old cartoons when I was a kid. Looks he sat in for someone's special occasion. Way to go 🐱man!
As a KISS fan of the OG era it’s cool to see Peter playing the music he loved and listened to long before he was in KISS.
This is fun. Nice to see him out there
Swing on, Catman. My forever drum idol.
So awesome. He is having a blast. I love the guy. Always liked his drumming and his voice is cool too.
Very nice Peter. Aging with grace, flowing with the band. Thank you for the great music and spirit you have given your fans since the 70s.
He's finally playing that jazz/big band music he loves after all... I am happy for him.
Wow!!! Simply amazing, this is the reason for what's my favorite kiss member !! The one and only catman will live forever as a original drummer member. Rock on Mr. Criss !!
Peter!!! ❤
Very cool!! That's "Sing, Sing, Sing". Benny Goodman with Gene Krupa did a great version. Great to see Peter playing
Was always known and appreciated by many drummers for the swing in his rock drumming. Legend!
I was totally impressed by this!
So great !!!
He is so in his element! Wonderful
I'm 66 years old and grew up on rockn'roll and heavy metal, but I still like the big band sound.
Loved it! Great to see Peter having fun.
I makes me smile to see Peter doing something he enjoys.
the tune is Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman, Benny's drummer at that time was Gene Krupa so this is the song that PC should know the best & his solo in KISS was taken from Krupa's solo...
THE CAT MAN Nailed it you go BRO !!!
Peter Criss is a jazz drummer. That's where his influences were growing up. That sounds fantastic. 🤩
Lol! He's a high school stage band drummer at best. Don't make him out to be a Tony Williams. And I say that as a HUUUGE fan of his.
Back to the roots

He will always be my favorite KISS drummer and both Peter and Ace were the backbone in the band.
YES THE BACK BONE 😂 ON THE REVENGE ALBUM 😂
Yes for sure. That would be the only way I would see them. Original members
K I⚡️⚡️
Granted but they could have stayed but chose to dabble
Hardly the backbone. Great musicians, but gotta show up for work.
So much love for this
it's great to see him having fun behind the drums again.
So awesome to see the ‘Cat grooving out in his element! Thank you for sharing this video! “Peter Criss!!!!”⚡️⚡️

Peter looks great. I haven’t seen him in years. I also love how he doesn’t get into the back and forth with the others
Still Awesome after all these years
SHOVE IT PAUL!
Peter Criss must start the: PETER CRISS JAZZ ORCHESTRA!!!
Full Circle for Pete,..back to what inspired him most!….I always loved the Swing that he brought to KISS. Criss is the Cat!….🥁.X
I feel about Peter Criss the same way I feel about Bun E. Carlos. When they were in their respective bands, they made them swing.
Bun E Carlos is WAY better than Peter Criss and always has been.
It’s not even a contest.

Peter Criss. It´s much more better seeing this, than seeing any other member of ''KISS'' right now. This has true feeling and groove
Love this! Peter was the “ heartbeat” of the band… in more ways than one!❤️
