Thank you for this tutorial and free pattern. I managed to make my husband a Christmas tie to match my Christmas skirt and it was really cute. The one thing we noticed ( in case it helps others) is that it would be useful to have a loop at the back to tie the end through when you're wearing it so it doesn't slide around as much. Will add one at some point. Still so appreciative, I'm fairly new to sewing and this was SO helpful!!! Happy Christmas!
I was thinking about making some silly ties from old bedsheets... this is super helpful, thanks! me & my sewing machine are still enemies, but maybe I'll try it soon
this was great, I downloaded a few of your patterns today. I am also def subscrving and will share all on pinterest. Keep up the good work and thank you
Lining on ties doesn't cover the whole fabric. It is like a strip down the middle. If your outside fabric is thin you can use interfacing over the whole fabric.
If your fabric width is 1.4m, you will need 1.4m in the length. Ties are best cut on the diagonal so they have some stretch. This does waste a little fabric so keep the scraps to make something else.
Why does these tutorials give headache music , b;oom on terrible, just quiet to think, learn enjoy. So hard to find a peaceful tutorial ,subject to your choice on me. Please stop
Thank you so much!! I needed this SO much for a Hatsune Miku cosplay 😭😭
OH DUDE ME TOOO
NO WAY ME TOO
WHAT ME TOO LOL
I googled what that was. That's a cool blue tie! You could make the bottom a little wider to match.
I want this for my csm cosplay for halloween
I really needed a last minute tie, THANKS!

Thank you! I randomly got the urge to make a The Normal Album inspired tie, very helpful!

You are so welcome!
Almost done with mine, thank you so much for sharing!
Excellent! thanks for watching.
Does the tie feel light? If the tie was needed to wear with a business suit, would you add a heavier interface for weight?
Yes I would add a heavy interface, perhaps fusible fleece or a wool liner. Most business ties are a thin fabric with lots of lining.
@@treasurie Thank you for the response.
Thank you so much! Perfect video so that I can make a tie! This is really helpful for me since im a trans guy and my parents wont let me get a tie ❤

The pattern shows the lining 1.5 incea smaller? Should i increas it to fit the outer fabric?
Lining on ties doesn't cover the whole fabric. It is like a strip down the middle. If your outside fabric is thin you can use interfacing over the whole fabric.
There really should be a smaller panel inside to help keep the shape if the tie. Made of wool or canvas, or slightly stiffer material.
Yes for thin fabrics that is perfect. Usually wool.
Great!!
Thanks for watching.
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Very good 😊

Super cute😍
Thanks for watching :)
Im confused about the amount of fabric I need! Do I need 1.4m x 1.4m or 1.4m x 1m ? (the fabric im looking at comes in 1.4m width)
If your fabric width is 1.4m, you will need 1.4m in the length. Ties are best cut on the diagonal so they have some stretch. This does waste a little fabric so keep the scraps to make something else.

Great video! Awful song lyrics though 😬
Sorry about the song. Thanks for watching :)
I had to mute it!
I disagree. Great song lyrics.
I agree. Terrible choice.
its not that bad its the average love song 😭
Wish people would stop putting music in their tutorial videos. Not good for people with hyperacusis. Better to talk.
Noted for the future :) Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry about the music. RUclips requires royalty free music which doesn't have a great selection. Thanks for watching anyway. 😊
All of a sudden I only want to wear suits, and that's how I ended up around here. Can't wait to get started sewing :-) 🤍🤍
