Thank you for the informative video and detailed instructions. I was able to create 4 memorial ties for a dear friend of mine using his mother's clothes. It was a challenge taking petite medium garments and piecing them together but they all came out looking great. 🪄✨
A neighbor has a red truck - and everywhere I go, I see red trucks ... and today roaming around JoAnns, there was cotton fabric with a red truck! Omigosh. Maybe he would get a kick out of receiving a tie ... have no idea if he ever wears a tie, however. So, that fits with my 1st class procrastination. But good to know you have a tut for a tie - that is quite good. Thank you. Just in case I live long enough to make a tie (with having six or more UFOs and/or WIPs.
I made a tie using this pattern and video! I did pretty good overall, it's was my first sewing project by myself One thing that u have to note is that I wasn't super clear which side to sew the inside fabric to. I ended on sewing it on the inner side so when you said to flip it inside out, I thought "Oh no." Im 99% that was my own fault 😂 That was the only hiccup I had while following this tutorial though, thank you for making it super clear and super thorough!!
Hi Ashley! Great tutorial!! Thanks so much for sharing this project! I’m planning to use your pattern to make a tie for my grandson on the occasion on my son’s wedding. I will also be making a couple of pocket squares to match the tie. I wonder if you could tell me approximately how much fabric I will need to buy, considering the pattern needs to be cut on the bias? Any help you can give me will be truly and greatly appreciated!!
I know this video is from a year ago but I’m finding it now because I want to make my dad a tie with the off cuts from my wedding dress hem! My dress is a silky Mikado fabric and I’m wondering if you have any suggestions for sewing with that material? I’m only a hobby sewer and would love to hire someone more skilled to do this for me but I’ve scoured the internet and Etsy and can’t find anyone… so I guess it’s up to me 😂👌🏼 (yes I WILL be practicing first on scrap fabric haha)
Not just the stitched thread, but everything is invisible. Kind request please use plain white cloth to show how to stitch. Appreciate your efforts Thank you.

Great tutorial, thank you for being so informative. To start my own, how many metres of fabric do I need?
Thank you
What kind of fabric did you use for the pattered tie? They both came out so nice.
They are both just cotton actually, the floral was a thinner cotton which was hard to work with but ya they look great in the end!
No measurements for the pattern
Thank u so much 🙏🙏🙏
How much fabric do I need to buy?
1.5 yards
What sewing machine do you use? My grandma gave me hers but it’s beyond repair 😭
i have a Babylock Presto II, might be time for an upgrade ;)
your instructions were great!
but boy! let me tell ya!!
i sucked at it lol
If I use interfacing and am using cotton fabric what type of interfacing do I need for the whole tie?
i would choose a medium weight interfacing
Great tutoria l!!! thank you
