It’s perfect now. I wanted to love the x100v but I shot it after shooting the xh2 and couldn’t fall in love with the autofocus. I think it’s absolutely perfect now.
The price is acceptable, but "Made in China" is their big mistake. People buy Leica because of their heritage, not their performance. Fuji is missing what they are good at it. Intangible emotion factor is especially big in the camera market. Even if the quality might be the same, Made in China is not cool especially for cameras like Fuji.
@Pocketbassist Cellphone is a tool, whereas cameras are somewhat "emotional" tools to capture moments, which is memory. Also, though the iPhone is just a tool, if Apple makes "Made in California edition" for their products, I am sure a tons of people will pay premium on it. There are some good Chinese companies, such as DJI, but people still do not prefer to purchase Chinese products because of their bad reputation for being bad quality.
@@frankseophotos9633 I wasnt talking about the iPhone specially. My point is you're talking about the 1%. People don't care what country its made in, but they care about whether it makes their life easier.

There is something special about the X-Pro 2. It is one I will never get rid of... I will sell all my other five fuji bodies just to have that camera and the X100VI
You should check out the Ricoh GRiii line. They’ve also been able to stick IBIS as well as ND filter in a body half the size of the X100VI. I’m still torn between keeping my V and upgrading to the VI though… trying to justify spending the extra few hundreds essentially for an added IBIS and new 40Mp upgrade
Can I ask , when you have on the markets full frame cameras like the sony A7C, etc why would you pick this Fuji instead? Just to understand from your point of view assuming that price was not a deciding factor...
Man you can buy full frame cameras for that price .. see the Panasonic s5 with the kit lens .. in Europa the x1006 cost almost 2000 euro .. we are in the full frame territory .. way too much money Fuji lost the way .. I’m sorry !

Every manufacturer had 35mm that looked exactly like the other.... There should be Sony, Canon, Nikon all with camera's that look just like the X100. They just let Fujifilm runaway with this market
Nikon has the Zf and Zfc based on their FE and FM designs. Those Z retro cameras were #1 sellers when they came out for quite some time. I really like what Fuji did in a couple of years. Upgrades like IBIS and 6k seems little pointless to my liking for this type of camera. I think they added features that are not necessary. It is an everyday camera, so they should have improved build quality. I would even pay $2000 if it had brass body, better leather and more rugged buttons.
It’s really nice but moneywise I would go with canon r8 + 28mm f2.8 pancake. More less same size but full frame with possibility to change lenses. This looks great but it’s limiting.
No ibis, btw, but still a nice setup. You could also consider Nikon ZF with 28mm. Which is obviously more expensive, but similar styling and gives you more options.
x-t3 + 16-55 is my go to for all things street. It is on the heavy side but I love the results. The x100VI looks tempting for sure but even with all the features and smaller package, I'm not sure it would be enough to replace my trusty x-t3 rig.
No kidding I have all the Fuji cameras as well as a Leica Q3 I know Manny is familiar with shooting with the Leica and I understand the difference in the price because I paid American currency for it. The question I’m asking Manny is how does it stack up in image quality? Is it worth over $4000 more?
When you talk about the competition especially leica I want to mention that the integration of the rear screen of the Fuji is a slap in the face of leica ! …
Different camera for different markets. The Q3 does not demolish the X100VI and you are comparing cameras of vastly different price. One could equally argue that the X100VI demolishes the Q3 due to its size and weight. Somebody could say that a Fuji GFX also demolished the little Full Frame sensor in the Q3. See how silly that is?
Fuji aren't going to destroy their own product and reputation with inferior build quality. The best manufacting in China (and other Far eastern countries) is as good as Japan now. It's cheaper though to build in China so the additional specs have hardly raised the cost.
Pro cinema cameras have settings for frame rate and shutter angle, not shutter speed. Of course if you know the frame rate and angle you can calculate the effective shutter speed. e.g. 24 fps, 180 degree shutter the shutter is open for half of 1/24th of a second frame i.e. shutter is open for 1/48th second. A 90 degree shutter angle halves that again to 1/96th second and so on.
I am disappointed by Fuji's new price. Yes, there are a lot of new features but at the same time they shifted production to China. Labour costs in China are still lower and that is why I cannot understand that this camera has got a huge price tag. It does not seem to be justified to me. Also the tech in this camera has been recycled many times now. I claimed the same thought for the Zeiss ZX1. Fuji, I am out. I am not interested any more.
Inflation has increased component prices, a shift to China likely means it costs less than it would have been if produced in Japan. Wage cost is a large part of production that can be within Fuji control, component costs and materials aren't.
that pricing is solely based off of its predecessor’s popularity. of course theyre going to try and capitalize off that. no way they price it that high if the 100v didn’t cook the way it did
Yes we know. You do know that it was called Vee and not five due to the prior model being F for fourth, T for third, S for second, right? It is only now that Vee-eye sounds silly, hence "six".

So it will be about 2100 plus tax gives us about $CDN2350. That's expensive. Gien the continuing fall in the Canadian dollar this will be about $2400 - $2,500 soon. Way out of my price range.
Want it but don't need it, not being a pro. Too pricey just to take snaps or for vacation. I'm trying to be content with my recently purchased used x100s since I rarely do video. It's 16 megapixels is a-ok with me. Of course I would love a flip screen and the ability to label custom film recipes but for $500 (price of used x100s) vs. $1700-ish (BEH)... pass. Thanks for the informative video!
3:21 I can confirm you guys, as I laid my head on the pillow 4 hours ago, it started getting cold all of a sudden. Currently in the arctic, getting chased by a polar bear, prayers are welcomed.
I dunno about anyone else, but the fact that in just that box with no extra equipment you can film at 4:4:10 6k with ND, IBIS and no time limit… and decent autofocus (TBC?) that’s a hybrid dream right there. Who’s doing that at 1600 dollars that you can actually put in your pocket? I think Fuji have opened a new market with this one. There’s nothing like this out here at all. Nearest thing maybe a7c but that’s a lot bigger with comparable lens. Bring the screw on lenses for telephoto / wide and you could do a Netflix quality movie on here. Literally the lightest cinema rig ever. I’m waiting to hear from videographers what the downside is (rolling shutter maybe ? but so what..). Actually might order this …
It is hard to argue with the idea that this is a far better value than a Leica Q2 or 3. But I’d have to feel it in the hand - the Leica just feels right.
Although I appreciate the giant leaps in today's technology, I am still in love with my Fuji X-E1, I love how compact the body is (especially with my Fuji 27mm pancake lens) and I love the Fuji film simulations straight out of camera, plus have the added bonus of being able to change lenses! Like you said Manny, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" The X-E1 may be 'old' in terms of release date and technology, but IMHO still GOLD!! I had the pleasure of shooting with an original pre-production Fuji X100T on the streets of London with nonne other than Kevin Mullins, a few years ago now, but I distinctly remember how compact, user friendly and well designed this little beauty was. If the opportunity arises again, I will test drive the new X100VI, but as an owner of 3 Fuji bodies already, I have to keep asking myself, can I justify another £1600 for a camera I may not end up shooting with a often as I should...Time will tell.
I have a V and won't be upgrading. If I didn't have a V for sure I'd get the VI. Recently got an X-E4 cause I was missing from a lot of family photos which I deem important.
3:21 I can confirm you guys, as I laid my head on the pillow 4 hours ago, it started getting cold all of a sudden. Currently in the arctic, getting chased by a polar bear, prayers are welcomed.
IBIS and a bunch of filters is great but the ability to change the color in the shadows and highlights for cross processing would be a game changer - does anyone know if the software is updated for this feature?
Not really a necessary upgrade unless you actually intend on using it for video. The x100v has less megapixels but I've never had an issue with cropping into photos
Is this Fujifilm's first camera to be produced in their new Chinese Manufacturing Plant? In a way, that may be a good thing since it requires new manufacturing equipment with possibly higher quality control and specifications. Only time will tell with this new model.
Love the video. You are one of my favorite photo channels! Did you find the build quality the same as before? They moved production from Japan to China. Also they only state the top plate being aluminum. The previous ones were top and bottom in aluminum.
$1,600 for a fixed lens point and shoot with an incremental update thats now made in China? Hard pass. Im sure hipster fanboys will be all over it though lol
This is just a point and shoot for me I will never use it for video so the only thing I really care about is the new film simulations. Still deciding if a couple new film simulations is worth the extra money for an upgrade

Downplays the Fuji like crazy with small remarks.
“Instagram worthy photo”
Bro, cmon.
Cotdangit MANNY!
$1700-ish (BEH)... pass. Thanks for the informative video!
so @Manny Ortiz this may fit in the traditional wedding photography and video in behalf of the SONY A7 M3 / M4
Shoutout to DigitalRev TV ❤
So the internal ND is in the lens rather than the body probably? Man I really hope Sony or someone FINALLY puts an internal ND in a mirrorless camera.
3:21 I can confirm you guys, as I laid my head on the pillow 4 hours ago, it started getting cold all of a sudden. Currently in the arctic, getting chased by a polar bear, prayers are welcomed.
What a beautiful camera, cheaper and arguably better that the expensive leica Q2…packed with features including a great experience for sure.
I want an XPRO4!!!!!!!!
Actually might order this …
Small price hike but they're building them in China instead of Japan? Fujifilm making them stacks
The look is good, but I rather go with Panasonic LUMIX GM2 or the G85. I think $1600 for a fixed lens is unreasonable
Has it got a flash
Stopped watching as soon as you said that af of modern camera can not keep up with walking kids.
I wish I could afford this camera… man this looks like a perfect on the go camera. I’m jealous!
What rens filter?
I have a V and won't be upgrading. If I didn't have a V for sure I'd get the VI. Recently got an X-E4 cause I was missing from a lot of family photos which I deem important.
@Manny Ortiz do you prefer X100VI in silver or black?
Damn it. I want it.
Which one is better to buy? Fuji X100VI or Sony a74?
How does this handle portrait bokeh? I mainly want a good travel camera, but shooting some travel portraits would also be great
3:21 I can confirm you guys, as I laid my head on the pillow 4 hours ago, it started getting cold all of a sudden. Currently in the arctic, getting chased by a polar bear, prayers are welcomed.
Came on here to check if the x100vi had been released and this was first on my recommended
Preordering soon 😎
Weird how every major photography channel posted a video about this camera 9h ago ;)
I know it’s not going to happen but I want a full frame version. Nikon kind of moved me away from Fuji for now.
clicked this video when this was posted 28 seconds ago..geez.
Thanks for sharing this Manny. We can trust you'll create magic with this camera.
IBIS and a bunch of filters is great but the ability to change the color in the shadows and highlights for cross processing would be a game changer - does anyone know if the software is updated for this feature?
Not really a necessary upgrade unless you actually intend on using it for video. The x100v has less megapixels but I've never had an issue with cropping into photos
vs Nikon ZF which is better?
You get the Ricoh GR III And GR IIIX for the same money. 28 & 40 mm in a smaller body.
X-Pro 1, I'll never leave you..
Is this Fujifilm's first camera to be produced in their new Chinese Manufacturing Plant? In a way, that may be a good thing since it requires new manufacturing equipment with possibly higher quality control and specifications. Only time will tell with this new model.
Their newer models are made in China, don't know where though in terms of factory. The XPro3 falling apart shows that Made in Japan is meaningless.
It’s amazing Camera 📸
Ricoh gr3 has nd and ibis and is half the size and price
Love the video. You are one of my favorite photo channels! Did you find the build quality the same as before? They moved production from Japan to China. Also they only state the top plate being aluminum. The previous ones were top and bottom in aluminum.
$1,600 for a fixed lens point and shoot with an incremental update thats now made in China? Hard pass. Im sure hipster fanboys will be all over it though lol
Ehhh… to each their own
But thanks for not taking up the preorders :)
Felt like last week people were hyping up the V while they had a Vi in their hands.
What's wrong with it being made in China?
Ewwww. Someone with I don’t get it therefore it’s shit mentality. You must be fun at parties.
Fuji needs to make money somewhere. Camera sales are very low nowadays, so good for them to get massive profit from diehard fans.
This is just a point and shoot for me I will never use it for video so the only thing I really care about is the new film simulations. Still deciding if a couple new film simulations is worth the extra money for an upgrade
Not when you can get a similar look from fujixweekly. Whether that is good enough is up to you.
