Busland is a workshop in Estonia that is specialists in renewing old buses. Otto Osula shows us one of the buses he grew up with. This 30 year old Volvo has been rolling about 2 million kilometers. Let's test drive this classic bus that looks just like new.

I remember those busses from my time as a apprentice and young mechanic. Solid well built bus, no major issues apart from wear and tear.

Timeless touringcar design. Even the latest model of the volvo 9700 has some design cues in the side profile. The previous UG generation has alot of design elements of the carrus star series.
It's a great design on this model. And, you can still se the lines in todays bus production :)

It's a B12 like Otto said, not B12B. The later generation with horizontal 12-liter rear engine was B12B.

Otto Osula gave us a good comprehensive history of his bus company which was interesting. I am familiar with the practice of border bribery, beer, cigarettes etc. In those days it was normal for the second driver to sleep under the floor. Of course today drivers must sleep away from the bus under E U law. Memories.
It was a bit more crazy before. More regulated today. Too much sometimes 😂

Nice classic bus! Is the body a former Delta Star model? I can totally relate to the comment about the gearbox, I found it fascinating too! In the old Volvo museum (today closed) was a DH12 engine from a B12M on exposition which had done 2,9 million kms if I remember correctly.

For en en fantastisk flott buss! Husker å kjørt med sånne i mine yngre dager (kun som passasjer) og dem var så utrolig behagelige å sitte i som passasjer.
Dem har å veldig flotte linjer og "avrundinger" bare se på de flotta baklyktene! Også de frontlyktene å da 🤩
