- Three is the magic number. In the case of Samantha Fish, who’s making her third consecutive appearance at the festival, we aren’t kidding about the magic. She snuggled right up to our hearts in year one, charming us senseless with her smoking hot riffs, powerful voice, and assured songwriting. Her second time around, she hit the stage with her “souped up band,” an outfit that included horns and even more drive. Minds were blown. Let’s just say she did not disappoint. So when she said yes to coming back to the mountains for our Silver Anniversary, well … the pleasure is all ours. With each passing year, Samantha grows artistically, her energy approaches supernova, and her charisma shines bright as the Colorado sunshine on a perfect, September afternoon. No wonder she’s become a fan favorite. Easily shoulder-to-shoulder with the best guitarists in the business, she reminds us of the quote attributed to Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire’s elegant dance partner. “I do everything a man does only backwards and in high heels.”

They work hard
Samantha added a light show and the Beat goes on.! This a song that is suh a classic, if you don't mind my sayin'. A friend mentioned how she combines the flat pick with finger picking which is originally a jazz technique among other virtuoso style players. Her background is so complete that we are enrichened by her playing and vocals like we don't always be aware.

Yes she is great there is no doubt about that but I do think that the horn section can kill her sound a little touch but hey! when she is nailing guitar solos like the 5 minute one here then I still love her for the musician she is and also the singer she is going to see and meet her in Glasgow in February next year I just can't wait!! What a super talent she is!!
Samantha is amazing, but I preferred it when it was just the three with the incredible drummer Go Go Ray.
That can be a bit limiting as a power trio it's hard to diversify your sound.

I think I liked the Raw blues trio format a bit more than this iteration and style.
I hear ya, I miss it too. Guess she just wanted to grow and diversify a little. Ive grown to like the brass quite a bit, but its really hard to get used to the violin, or the style of the violinist in her band. I dont follow her by the week or anything, but it seemed that for a short while, the violin was gone. But its all good with me as long as Samantha keeps bringing it.
