- For the uninitiated, Samantha Fish's rock and roll roots are in plain sight, and her sound fuses blues and soul into one steamy pot. With a 5-album discography spanning over the course of just six short years, her work ethic is diligent and refined. "Practice as hard and as often as you can," she says. "You can never practice enough". Her set on the Festival's Main Stage closed with an intense and passionate renditions of one of her earliest hits "Black Wind Howlin". It will be a while before you cool down after this one!

I swear the the talent that Samantha has got, not to mention the elegance and class and damn near EVERYTHING ELSE, is so unreal it truly amazes me..I have already saw her twice and I JUST GOT MY TICKETS FOR HER ASHEVILLE SHOW IN DECEMBER!!! I just stumbled on to her a week ago on RUclips . Been looking for a woman to really shred a guitar like she does and there she was ! Add me to the list of ardent fans of this woman !! So much talent! Just F’n awesome.I listen to blues guitar greats all the time , but she is such a breath of fresh air ....the original licks just fly off her assorted guitars ! She is obviously a very hard working artist makin it look easy. No pretension here even with all her talent and looks. I think she must have some very talented management behind her.She’s really one in many millions ! I’d say she is already up there already with some of the greats in blues . Her choice of songs is very tastefull. She is a female Johhny B. Good and she’s ringin a bell !Really hopin I get to see her live soon. Do you ever make it to Columbus ,Oh Samantha ?

This was amazing, wonderful performance. Sam should get herself a Marshall to let her guitar qualities prevail.
Now I definitely agree with that comment, I'm not positive because I really can't get a good look at the amp she uses ... but I think it's a Ampeg amplifier. I owned one years and years ago in the mid 70's ... then I was making more money, playing more gigs and bought a Marshall and a Fender twin reverb. I would switch to a Les Paul and play the Marshall for Rock and switch to a my Fender Tele and Twin Reverb for Country.

Yeah ... I agree! She seemed to be sorta preoccupied for a few minutes during her performance at the action going to her left. She also seemed just a little upset, but then she just forgot about the bead throwing and played the hell outa that solo. She's definitely got some great guitar skills to be so young!

How long was this set and where can i find the rest of it?
I assume the Telluride Blues & BBQ event is an annual event. Samantha appeared in one several years ago and on that recording, the audio quality was outstanding. I regret to report that in this year, that was not the case. The guitar was underbalanced to the point of silence. The vocals were so bad Samantha resorted to a megaphone, which unfortunately made it worse. It was very plain, Samantha was in pain.
I decided not to downthumb this, although it deserves it. What's really sad is that the last recording in Colorado was so excellent. Everybody and his brother films Samantha and the quality varies considerably. This one's not much better than a cellphone video.
Horrible recording? You must be listening, watching your CP, dude. Am hearing this thru headphones, better yet, watching on my Mac. For tonight, she's the best, ever. But will most likely change my mind with her next performance. She only gets better.

Hard to understand- the sound guy has the lead guitar turned way down. It's the driving force behind the song. Too bad.

I discovered her a year too late to see the trio and six months too late to see her do this song or Runaway. She needs to get her own sound guy too. Very few mix this band well.
