Mix with buttermilk in the blender rather than water and you will get quicker results. Just place it in a container with water rather than your aquarium to prevent it affecting water quality. Once its growing rinse and place in your aquarium
Thanks for the tips and tricks! I’ll definitely try it out on a cheap type of moss then upgrade to a more expensive one lol atm a bit busy with selling/buying bucephalandras and other rare types of plants but definitely will give it a try later thanks a lot! 😊
you really don’t need to use yoghurt or buttermilk. Moss grows in nutrient deficient conditions it will start just fine without it and the dairy aspect is only added to make it “stick” better
Way easier way to do this my friend !! Roll up the bunch of moss you’re gon use into a ball and slice it with a knife or cut it with scissors then crush up a bit of aquarium soil & mix with the watered crushed moss and it’ll turn into a paste which then it’ll easily replace this method
I haven’t had good results with just water I’ll try it again with greek yogurt or any plain yogurt so the moss sticks to the rock now it failed… unfortunately and I’m so busy with figuring out how to keep the viewers entertained (editing+recording…)
@@noelszollosi2726 unfortunately I haven’t tried using yogurt stay tuned for the next attempt though 😊 I’m a little busy right now with a collab project but as soon as it’s done I’ll film my new attempt using yogurt!
@@theaquaticdesert I would recommend cutting the moss with scissors or a knife into fine pieces, then putting super glue on it, the gel kind and spreading it on the rock while dry then misting and dry starting it
This is christmas moss and I’m not measuring the ratio just put in some water so the blender can catch and cut up the moss into tiny particles and so on. I can’t cause the rock was too big and if you soak the rock in the blend the moss will be either on the top of the rock or on the bottom… it wont settle on the sides of the rock 🪨
@@theaquaticdesert will do ...I'm a novice still figuring things out with my first tank , but already purchased my second because of the deals at petsmart haha
@@Makemsayahlex i used to live in California and did exactly the same haha but please do your research first before introducing the fish into the tank! You need to cycle the tank for the first two weeks! Don’t let them die like how most of people do when they start!
Unfortunately i recorded it but the file got corrupted and i lost the video :( atm i lost most of it due to fighting off algae will do another experiment in the future

Will try it out!
I can't wait to try this. Is there a moss/water ratio u like best?

It doesn't work at all
Oh you following Mj too ❤❤
Is this Java Moss and what’s the ratio of moss and water?
Couldn’t you just soak the rocks in the blend after?

Aquatic moss
It’s Christmas moss to be specific and i blended it to try the method MJ aquascapes did to grow moss on lava rocks
Thank you
In how many days i can place the rock under the water?
I waited for a month and it was alright, waiting longer is better
Well it’s similar to tikashi’s method of using a knife to chop the moss up
Yeah
Can this work on old dry tree stub?
That’s a good question honestly try it out it might work
❤❤❤❤
😊❤️
Can I grow phoenix moss on pebble?
Yes of course! Sorry i had a busy day couldn’t reply sooner! But yeah you could grow moss on anything as long as it sticks to that object
Can I use Christmas moss ?
Yes I’m using Christmas moss here!
@@theaquaticdesertoh nice , I'm going to be building a dark forest type of tank and I feel like Christmas moss is the perfect type for this

what's the name of the song??
Fly me to the moon
How long it will grow...
It takes almost 2 months to fully grow and cover the whole rock 🪨…
Update video?

You add water to it, my friend.

@@theaquaticdesert Danke, Kumpel
Why not just put the entire stone in
Cause I’m following MJ’s method.
