- Overwatch 2’s latest Tank Hero Mauga is charging his way to the battlefield!
Equipped with two chain guns (Gunny and Cha-Cha), Mauga is ready to bash through the front lines of his opponents and tear through anyone that stands in his way with tons of fire-power. Get acquainted with Mauga’s ability kit in his Gameplay Trailer and hop into Overwatch 2 Nov 3-5 to play him in a limited-time free trial.

If this was still Overwatch 1, I'd actually be excited. He seems like a fun character. But in the state that Overwatch 2 continues to exist, I'm not reinstalling.

This is honestly the best hero they've released in a VERY long time. Sorry but Echo, Soujorn, Rahmattra, Baptiste and others whose names I can't remember, weren't that interesting.
I like how expressive he is. Almost feels like he comes from an entirely different game than the other heroes.
Also, i hope him and rien have some funny interactions.
Unfortunately, can only have 1 tank in a team. Guess we can't hear it
You can still do it in any non-role-lock modes. I know for sure Ramattra has a voice line with Hammond/Ball where he asks Hammond "Why a ball" to which Ball replies " He says "Because a Wheel would fall over"" and in response to this, Rammatra laughs.

Might be overthinking it, but it could also serve a double purpose as a reference to the "After 9 years in development, we hope it has been worth the wait" line of TF2. He and Heavy share some similarities like with some voicelines and gameplay.

That cage fight ability looks pretty interesting! I look forward to seeing how his kit affects the game!
Pair with bap immortality he'd be neer un-killable if you surprise the enemy group with it, so seems even lore wise they might pair up nicely.
Definitely adds more dynamic in team fights. Heroes like tracer or mercy might have to be more cautious now

This man looks unstoppable. He can't be stunned and you can't run. The only issue I can see is that he's definitely high-commitment and can't escape a fight for his life.
It seems like he has a charge ability and a jump ability, I think he’ll have at least one way of reliable escapability

This feels like the Heavy from Tf2 combined with Maui from Moana but the chained terrain feels very original for a FPS. Posibly broken with area bursts like Bastion, Reaper, Mei, etc
Technically his Ult isn't anything special. Certainly unique in that it still allows enemy characters some movement inside the "cage," but Graviton Surge is far more punishing.
I have expected to hear him yell "Cry some more" at the end.

Gameplay wise he seems to have a lot in common with Raum from paladins, they both have miniguns, and they both have the run
@@godlyvex5543 To be fair, Mauga is based off of the heavy assault unit from the Retribution archive mission, which came first. So Overwatch inspired Paladins, which inspired Overwatch again.
If ever Overwatch and TF2 gets a crossover, Heavy and Mauga would no doubt be fast friends.

This is probably my favourite gameplay trailer for a hero
The voice acting and design of Mauga, the way he opens he mouth wide open, yelling and screaming in joy as he burns and rail people down with his dual miniguns
The way they show off the weapons, abilities, and ultimate with Mauga throwing in his little jokes in the background
Not to mention the actual character in game, he's a nice breath of fresh air, he's tanky, he's powerful and really what overwatch needed
The best part (in my opinion) is how he is Samoan and they even got a voice actor from there

@@Ttalker177 I'm Samoan and his Samoan pronounciation was kinda bad. I think the voice actor might be from America Samoa, not the Pasifika one where I'm from and where the character is based. He speaks Samoan like how the Rock speaks it, like they put in fake pronounciation to make it sound more "authentic"
