Black men from poverty mistaking money as provision for a child when the biggest form of providing is being present

Ryan was the only one in this conversation MAN enough to call a spade a spade. Just becuz Cam & Nick can afford to provide for these children, that doesn't make it in any way...OK. As a matter of fact, it is F'ed Up! That mindset places Privilige and Money, over Morality & Fatherhood Responsibility.

I would rather be in a situation that Cam is in then to be born into a low income poverty family where both the father and mother can barely survive and can barely put food on the table. There is plenty of trauma that a child can go through in a situation like that. I find it to be irresponsible to have kids when you can't afford to eat.

I can personally tell you, there is no way I will commend an effort to be a father by Men who have recklessly gotten multiple women pregnant without even considering the family dynamic and I also place blame on the women who have agreed to take part in procreating with guys who are essentially “breeders” and not what GOD has said a man should be for a woman and a child. 1:44 - the “old school way” is why so many people esp millenials are needing therapy to heal from childhood traumas. Being a financial provider is not the same as being present for your child emotionally and physically. Providing clothes, housing, food is the bare minimum. Even birds provide shelter and food for their young ones. It requires more than that for a child to feel the love of their parent and grow up reflecting that to the world.

I have to agree with the doctor as a product of a second marriage. Even though my father's kids from his first marriage were grown it still left scars. I have a different memory of my father than his kids from his first marriage. You're always going to be missing something, first steps, first day of school, graduations, birthdays, etc. and it doesn't just hurt the relationship between parent and child it hurts the relationship between the siblings and some of the siblings will never form close bonds. She called it what it is, it is selfish. Imagine being a kid and just going through normal growing pains and not having your father around but being left with the thought that he's probably across town with his other kids tending to their needs. That stuff is soul-crushing.

She told the truth. A father not only provides financial security to his child, but being there for their kids. I came from a two parent household, but my dad was married before and he had a daughter from a previous marriage and he rarely saw our sister. I could tell from my sister that our father not being there for her since we lived in Colorado and she lived in Texas created a hole in her heart for our father. Cam and Nick are not in their early 20s, they are in thirties. At this stage of their lives, they need to stop making the same mistakes. He found the words to move beyond a conversation about houses and homes and into the REALITY of what a father's job is => PRESENCE & (positive) INFLUENCE. Wealth does not erase the stigma of illegitimacy or the pain of having an absentee father. No one can prioritize being home for their kids if one has to visit multiple houses. Dads/fathers are already "absent" in American culture unless the dad is the primary custodian of care or makes sure to play an AN ACTIVE ROLE DAILY. Ryan nailed it! I applaud him for calling out Cam & Nick’s behaviors and using himself as an example. Yes, they are trying, but they both willingly created children with women they have no desire to marry. Their behaviors are low functioning, and can possibly be emotionally damaging for everyone involved down the road. Hell…the last mother of Cam’s kids is spiraling on social media as we speak.

Are they trying? Both guys tried to use Dr. Bryant’s age, marital status etc. to disregard why they should not create any more broken homes. If anything it seems like the plan was to encourage the dysfunction in our community. Cam and men like him want to use Dr Bryant to scare women into jaz brown’s situation.

What is Cam and Nick doing wrong? BM are accused for knocking up females during the females small ovulation window each month and being a "dead beat". Cam and Nick not only are taking care of their children better than any average family but Dr Bryant even told them that they were great fathers. Dr. Bryant even told them that the mothers are "victims" of Cam and Nick wanting children by them. This is the same 42 year old never married and childless female wanting "beautiful children" herself. When and how?! But she never said that she never wanted to be married first. In my opinion, I believe that she's bitter, pass her fertile years, not seriously sought after, and jealous of BM that are still able to get younger females and reproduce.
