Bombing at the very start of stage 2 is actually correct. Ideally as Master Spark Marisa and when you're near the top of the screen so you collect all the goodies. It's an easy way to get a lot of points and power very quickly and since lives are tied to points it puts you in a great position going forward.

Instead of looking at yoruself try to look at the entire screen so you can see the path you have to navigate through before you actually move. Near the end of stage 4 when those enemies come out and shoot a ton of bullets. They're all aimed. So if you sit and wait you can move just a bit to either side and dodge all of them. These enemies also always spawn in the same place so if you memorize where they come in you can always kill them before they can get shots off. If you do memorize it its also a good way to get a lot of points. Those streaming enemies near the end of stage 4 just before patchy clear the bullets from screen when you kill them. Focus them down one at a time and space them out correctly so you can stay safe. Most of stage 5 is similar. Don't move too much. Most of the bullets are aimed at you. At the start of stage 6 hug the wall on either side. You can kill the enemies as they come in before they shoot. so you don't have to deal with as many bullets. I usually hug the left but I don't think it matters. Good luck!
