I love those old IBM products... I have quite a few old IBM thinkpads, For a long time i used an old IBM thinkpad T41, I took that thing everywhere and let everyone use it, it got dropped, knocked around, and just basically abused in many ways... it also had it's share of spills onto it as well, but that machine never skipped a beat, and i still have it... When Lenovo took over everything went down hill, the new thinkpads are okay, definitely better than an HP or something like that, but nothing can beat the old true IBM stuff... I also have an old thinkcentre s51 used as a file server that has been on 24/7 besides being restarted a few times for going on 5 years now.

I do too, they were top quality machines. I'd say they were still pretty solid under Lenovo up until 2013, there weren't many models I cared for after that. They seemed to loose a lot of durability and were not as reliable.

How. Just, what even. Unless the CMOS battery was dead that's surreal. And seemingly no water even seeped into the hard drive through the air hole or other such small openings, because such would never dry out.

All the upset from the BIOS at the beginning would lead me to believe the battery is probably long dead by now. The drive still working, that I have no explanation for other than it being pure quality.

Wow, that's incredible that it works! Sucks to see about the LCD panel, I don't know how easy it would be to replace, shame that a flash flood ruined so much.

I suspect the most difficult part will be sourcing a new CLD.

If I didn't mention it in the video, then I don't know exactly. Probably early-mid 2000s would be my guess.

Will record if there is one, at bare minimum the screen will need to be replaced. As much as I'd like to save it, I'm not sure if it's worth putting money into it, it's probably all corroded inside.
