Nice! I do like the thermal pane windows in the traditional houses. I suppose, back in the day, the windows either leaked cold vigorously...or were closed off, giving a dark house.
It's just beautiful and amazing, both the music and the images and the editing that matches them. Many thanks for this achievement. I saw that Laufás Museum is temporarily closed, do we know for how long?
I love the song, and the footage goes very well with it. The music brings a spiritual peace, suggesting to me a simple life close to nature. I have learned more about the divine communing with nature than in a church.
Quite a melancholic sound, a little reminiscent of cathedral singing. 😀 . . . What is the woman with the blue threads doing, is it a form of lace making? like macrame' as opposed to crotchet?
@@JustIcelandic Thanks, better late than never eh 😉 I wonder what happened to TCKH's comment? Now I might have to view the video again just to review what I saw! 🙄 😀
The portion with the children playing with horns and a fenced property miniature. Are the little houses alfar houses? If so, are the horns offerings? Or is it all just a big playset?
Hi and thanks for your visit. It's not an elf house, just a miniature model of the old Icelandic turf house but kids used to play with horns and sheep bones in the old days so this scene is pretty real but this his how my grandmothers used to play games in the old days :)
@@johnzuijdveld9585 the miniture house is something brand new and people did definetly not possess back in those days. The bones and horns are toy's of imagination. If you wanted they could represent people, but also horses and other creatures
Seems the more we have the less people are happy. Children now in many parts of the world have too much. Creativity and imagination often intersects with having less.... Spoiled adults demanding things immediately seem to be the “rage” now....Perhaps the Bible had it right when it said”Godliness with contentment is great gain”....?
Not understanding a single word, but so deep moving... I'm astonished 🎯💙
💙 thanks :)

Yes it's lace making. It's an old craft. ruclips.net/video/DtCWkHzrAgQ/видео.html

Could you provide the Icelandic text in this song?
It's here :) bragi.arnastofnun.is/ljod.php?ID=2899
@@JustIcelandic Lovely song. if it's not to much trouble you could add the lyrics to the captions.

@@JustIcelandic A bit like a dolls house perhaps? did the horns or the bones represent any ppl. such as the townsfolk or leaders?

@@rosikosi2 Thank you.
A play set. Horns, jaws and shells are various farm animals. I played like that when I was a kid, about 55 years ago.
