Did you have a ton of Vaseline on the barrel grooves and a lot of carbon upon first disassembly?

Hey Chandler, wondering if your M&P 5.7's barrel sleeve/barrel are totally concentric when assembled in the pistol? My barrel seems to be ever so slightly off to one side of the sleeve when viewed from the muzzle; the rotation of the barrel doesn't seem to affect this one way or the other. I'm not sure if this is what S&W intended or if I have an anomaly... Anyway, thanks for the detailed video review!

I took a look at mine today and it doesn’t seem like it’s offset to one side, at least from what I can tell.
But it’s a small sample size so I can’t tell you one way or another unless we had more data points.
I know that probably doesn’t help, but at least it’s some information! Mine looks pretty concentric.

Good unboxing. I'm interested in the 5.7 but that gap between the slide and frame has me concerned 😅. Is that how it's supposed to be for reliable cycling or just a design flaw?

I’m wondering the same thing. Surely S&W would have tested through that. I’ve seen it in other photos and videos as well, so it’s not just mine.
But hey, we will find out!

    Are they legal in California

I’m not sure. I’m not really versed in CA law so I would consult someone familiar before trying to purchase.

Cool gas system I just don't care for the caliber

It definitely has a niche. We’ll see how it performs. I hope to test it out in some dense ballistic gel but we will see.

Bought it. And sold it before I fired it. Magazines were defective. Reached out to s&w, they sent me new followers and springs. Made it worse. Sold it. 🗑️

Man I hate to hear that. I’m glad to hear you recouped some money from it though.
I’ve only put a couple mags through mine thus far. The last range day we were at a semi-public range and they don’t like the spicy 5.7.
I’m curious, what made them defective? Did they not load well? Was it a feeding problem?
If we start seeing this problem I’ll report back. But thanks for the comment on your experience! Always good to get other opinions, especially on if defects are out there that we don’t see.

@@RangeDay the mags are defective. The rounds wound not feed. They would get stuck in the middle of the mags. And when it would after a couple of taps the bullet would strip from the casing and it would fill the pistol with a shower of gun powder 🤷‍♂️
