There’s some wild reads on Trump’s statements.
    Look.
Trump wants IVF so people can have babies & he disagrees with AZ because he wants more exceptions.
He’s wrong but this isn’t new.
Ultimately, he thinks the legal structure should protect states who want to abolish abortion.
    I want to abolish abortion.
Which is part of the reason I’m not inclined to let the party who celebrates death fortify a permanent majority over the next four years with newly arrived illegal immigrants.

Trump’s statement shows that he’s not really wanting to hold to a position of the people don’t want it.
He did state that he’s against execution of babies but he kept coming back to follow your heart and will of the people.
If he really believes it he will just outright say no and it’s the right thing to do regardless of the thoughts of the voter

Good commentary Jon. It's easy to forget that there are 2 generations of Americans who don't know that a human being is developing inside of the mother's womb. Pastors and lay ministers don't believe the womb babies are human beings.WE as a Church have work to do. We want to blame someone else for baby murder when we refuse to intelligently discuss the issue with friends, neighbors, etc. If we believe a national ban is legal, then we need to do the work in our cities & states to protect life at the local level. It's hard work but it's our responsibility to tell the truth about the sanctity of life at every age and every stage.

@@bromineandtungsten That is exactly what I believe. That was the whole point of federalism. The question before us now is whether we wish to remain in a Union with multiple incompatible political cultures. For example, Washington and Tennessee have two completely opposite laws regarding "gender affirming care." The solution is not one standard mandated by the Feds. The solution is the dissolution of the Union into multiple different countries whose governments reflect the political cultures of those communities - and on their heads be the laws they pass.

    • @bromineandtungsten

Clearly he is not. But that's not a standard the Bible gives. The sphere of government is not redemptive and does not require born again people to occupy it. It's meant to punish evil in society. Since Trump failed to do that his first time and continues to move leftward, he falls short of the Biblical standard of a governing authority.

@@Ransetsu The same man who talked big, and then did absolutely nothing to even contribute to defending the nation from a literal onslaught of economic and spiritual ("socio-political") warfare? That guy? The guy who talked big and when tested did absolutely nothing?
How is he the person who will actually do some tangible good and attempt to keep the actual outright evil out of power? Snakes in the grass are sneaky, but that doesn't make them less evil than if they are more honest about being evil. Your naivete is absolutely staggering. Trump has proven he will not attempt to resist evil; he was tested and he did absolutely nothing. Do you also plan to clock bullets with your blanky? Does the blanky make you feel better about the flying bullets?
Your horses are already dead, your chariots are already broken, and yet you insist on putting your trust in them. Shame.
Fool us once, shame on Trump. Fool us twice, shame on us.
Christian standards are correct. God is right and your naivete is wrong.
God's standards are correct. We need not be tempted to settle for Paganism. A revival is necessary, and cultural "Christianity" is never (never) enough.
      Let me ask you this:
If we give our votes to non-Christians, then how can we ever insist that the one in office must be a Christian?
My vote is withheld, insisting on an actual Christian, so my vote is contributing to potentially Christianizing the nation. If you give them your vote, when all they offer is the faux-Christian Pagan who talks huge and does absolutely nothing, then you put zero political pressure on them to provide a sufficiently qualified candidate.
Sufficiently qualified should be a bare minimum. If less than that is what you are voting for, then why bother? Just to tell them that they don't need to do any better to get your vote? If that's the message you want to send, then do so without my approval, and I dare to suggest with God's disapproval as well. I find that sort of vote to be a surrender. I don't understand how, tactically and strategically, it could be viewed as anything other than a surrender.
Are you sure you have thought the matter through? Maybe what I have said will be helpful in your coming to clarity. Blankies don't block bullets, but Our God is a mighty fortress indeed. Don't be afraid to trust God. A revival is necessary and Cultural "Christianity" is never enough, and anyone who says it is, is aiming for Paganism. Be afraid to distrust God, but don't be afraid to trust Him. Look to the cross, and vote accordingly.
