Hey, I love your work. One can see the pleasure you find in your work and it fills me with joy. Even though the tone is sometimes somewhat sinister, i think i like your shorts best, at least when it comes to rewatchability. I showed them to my girlfriend and she too was mesmerized. Could you maybe do another video with sounds done in a way similar to your shorts? Kind regards from Germany!
Another fine review, Robert, thank you. I have ordered this machine and sold my F3 to offset the price a bit, but it appears that the FR-AV2 will only arrive to EU stocks at the end of January. So there is not much to do but wait. And wait. Fortunetely I have other recorders to play with until it arrives.
Thank you Robert! You’re the best. One question though, how’s the build quality feel? Is that body made out of metal? How would it fare if I were to drop it? All important things to me if I am bringing it with me wherever I go…please do let us know. Thanks! Appreciate you, my man!
Thank you! It feels very solid. While it’s made of plastic, the quality is far superior to the type used in toys. The material they use is highly durable. I’ve never dropped my recorder directly, but it’s been tossed around in the car and even involved in minor crashes, and it has survived them all.
Robert, I wanted to ask about the orientation of your basicUchos. As they are omnis, I wanted to ask if there was a reason you have them positioned as they are in XY config? It was my understanding that XY was for cardioids. You are obviously getting great results, so I wanted to ask you the reasoninig behind this. All learning is good learning.
Robert, thank you for the video on this little recorder. Question: any chance you can add in this video description the parts you used to make the handheld mount for the camera and the microphones?
Thank you very much for the very helpful video! I’m very interested in monitoring with Bluetooth earphones, but is the delay small enough to allow for narration recording?
I first watched your Rode NT-SF1 video and i find that system more pleasing to listen. I find a bit strange the stereo recording sound. Maybe M/S recording. Rode NT-SF1 is just something else. Is true that is a huge cost just for the microphone even without the recorder and size, battery but is just amazing the sound with that system.
@@RobertDudzic what’s the mount that holds the stereo bar and recorder? Is it a double cold show mount that’s hold both? Could you please share part and link. Thank you so much!

I have a question: do 'headphones with Bluetooth' work without the Tascam AK-BT2 dongle? In fact, I would like to clarify whether this dongle could potentially enable Bluetooth headphones for the Portacapture X8 device in the future. Thank you if you can confirm this!
@frankenstein2735 - Thank you for the confirmation. I thought it might have built-in Bluetooth support. But on the other hand, I still don’t believe I’d have much luck getting this new Tascam AK-BT2 dongle for the Portacapture X8 - I’m afraid Bluetooth headphones still wouldn’t work with Portacapture X8. In this video Robert also used some very interesting electret microphones (I hadn’t seen such ones before)! Thanks for this fascinating video, it’s truly inspiring in every way!
The X8 had a problem with a high-pitched buzz in the recordings, which is a problem when shifting the pitch down, as is sometimes done with sound design. Did you notice this problem with this recorder?
I have problems connecting via Bluetooth. Could you let me know how you were able to connect with Apple Airpods step by step? I am connected with the Tascam app and my iPhone shows AV2 in my Bluetooth settings but I am not getting any sound via Bluetooth in monitoring mode. Thanks
I am near an upgrade to 32-bit on all my audio gear. This will be a great addition to my kits' Tascam DR-100 M3. Enjoyed the video. Cheers
Thank you so much 😊

Great review, thank you. How do AirPods compare with over-the-ear headphones?? I'm thinking outside, windy conditions, recording birdsong.

Спасибо большое, удачи! Было интересно узнать ваше мнение.
Where do you get that handle? Link?
Could you share links to the stereo bar, tripod and all the connectors that you're using? The rig looks great!
It’s all on Amazon.
Names parts? Links? Please

Ciekaw jestem porównania z zoom F3
Curtis Judd did a comparison in his video about the Tascam.
Do I still need a separate time code device? Or can I use that with my camera and tascam time code as one.
This unit has a 3.5mm output for timecode, which can be wired to camera audio input.
what would say, for recording interview dialogue and foolio from time to time, is the tascam x6 or the av2 better? ima be using the Rode NTG3
Just when I decided to get the F3… Have you compared the two?
No, I stop using zoom a long time ago
@@RobertDudzic and why is that?
@@petervanderham4725 tascam has become much better. Av2 has much better pre amps, cleaner sound than the f3

Zoom products sound for my taste very digital and miss the warm tone.
Do you consider this an upgrade from X8?
No. Two different products

which 2 mics do you have connected to the tascam. Do you mind sharing a link to purchase those two mics.
Hi Robet Dudzic
Hi 🙂
what is the point of facing your (assumed cardiod) mics inwards when recording in stereo environments? Looks just.....kinda...wrong
These are omni-directional mics. LOM doesn't make directional mics at all
@@Grigoriy1996 ok. So why do you point Omni directional mics inwards?
