She practically lived in that machine, in some episodes you could see her surrounded by screens where she could see and hear everything, as she couldn't leave that machine that kept her alive. Her last breaths of life were in the sad farewell, in which she was surrounded by her friends and gave a gift to Asuna that would help her a lot in the future.
