To be honest this is way to unfair... Kirito made so much friends, and when Asuna found a friend she truly loves, her friend dies. The owner of this anime isn't heartless or cruel, for me it's just unfair Asuna finally got some spotlight, and yet even a friend. And now their gone. To be honest Asuna and yuuki are my true favorite characters.
I wouldn't say Asuna and Yuuki were a couple. I think they were more siblings. I think Yuuki looked up to Asuna as a Big Sister. Tis why she called her sis twice.
I would be just fine if SAO was about Asuna and Yuuki instead of Kirito, seriously Because of him Asuna's character character declined in the second half of the first season and the only good that came out of SAO 2 was the second half which was almost entirely about Asuna but no Kirito had shove his generic self in at times Asuna should have been center stage.
Spoiler: Yuuki always called Asuna her sister, because she had a sister who reminded her a lot of Asuna. Yuuki's sister passed away from the same illness as her, which was AIDS.
+Shizuki シズキ She had AIDS and it finally got to her immune system. She had already fell into an unconcious state once where her heart stopped before Asuna could get to her one last time.
Yuuki is so strong, she had a hard life, but also a beautiful...
