  • I normally don't test out smaller machines but when Sculpfun asked, I decided to try it. At first, I was concerned that the machine would disappoint me in performance. Although the work area is smaller than what I run, the functionality of the machine surprised me.

    Good overview. Not a bad machine for someone who wants to get started on a budget or just has small projects. Now I need to look for your videos on how you do mirrors - the multi-colors look intriguing.

      Thanks. Yea, not many folks doing multiple colors on them. It is a process.

    $369 seems like a lot for such a small machine. When I saw this I thought, "Oh, good idea for cranking out coasters if it's $99." No such luck,

      No, it still has the controller, power pack and limit switches and module of the larger machines. The smaller size just means less extrusions.

    Based on reflections in the product images, the backing on the mirrors looks white. Is that right? I have some with white backing and it's not working great on material tests for the D1 Pro 20W.

      @TheClackShack  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the white wavy surface was challenging. I had to up the power and LPI to get a good image. May also wanna back the focus out about 1.5 mm. The 20 watt should be capable of doing it.

    • @NIKBass
      @NIKBass 6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, I'll have to play with the LPI. I'm getting like 95% there, so I'm sure it'll get there. After looking at your links, I have the same ones you listed. Makes me feel better about giving it another go.

      I have mirrors with a black surface and with a green surface. The mirrors with the black surface are going oke, not great. But the mirrors with a green surface is a problem. I do not get a smooth result and there are dots left (shinny pieces of the mirrorfoil). I also adjusted the focus and tried all the positions off speed and power. I have a small 3 watt laser, so I am looking for a better and stronger one. Did you give it another go and how did it worked out? I am just looking for tips. Maybe it helps me to choise the right laser engraver. The Icube would be great, because it is small and mobile, but I do not know if 10W is enough. Maybe the D1 pro 20W?

    Hello I appreciate your videos. Where can I pick up the 4" mirrors? Did you make a file we can purchase for the stand? I bought the 12in frame from your etsy store and love it. Thanks again

    I am interested in the alignment tools you made for the icube, but I couldn’t find them in your etsy store.

      Yea, I haven't added them yet. I will work on that, I wasn't sure if anyone would like them.

      Hey, you are aware that the main part requires a larger machine to cut it out?

    • @TheSaddleSoreRanch
      @TheSaddleSoreRanch 6 месяцев назад

      I am not opposed to buying the kit from you already cut, as opposed to the digital file. If that is an option. Save me the hassle, and I am sure yours would be a much better finished product

      Thanks… I bought it. What material should I cut it out of? Sorry, I am brand new to all this. Which is why I watch so many of your videos. LOL. I will be using a Sculpfun S30 Pro Max 20 w…. Any ballpark on settings for the cut? Speed/power? Thanks again.

    My God. These channels have become NON-STOP product ads. Every other video is a sponsorship disguised as a product review.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  6 месяцев назад

      Not here, they send a machine and I try it out. RUclips requires that label that can be misleading. That just means I didn't but the machine.

      We only provide the machine, but we do not make any requirements for the content in the video. Therefore, you can rest assured about his review results of the icube😊

    • @johnanthony9923
      @johnanthony9923 6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. I understand how it works. I'm subscribed to loads of laser channels. And 99.99999% of these "reviews" are free products and an affiliate link. Try to find a single one from a RUclipsr that actually bought one of these products themselves. Which is also why 99.999999% of "reviews" on RUclips *PRAISE* the product...and list one or two *MINOR* flaws or inconveniences.
      If I'm wrong, please provide a link to *ANY* RUclipsr who "only received a free product" but gave it anything but a positive review. Seriously, on any laser on the market. A single RUclipsr who gave a negative review to a free product. It's the Reciprocity Principle. And RUclipsrs know they won't keep getting free products. But, again, I'll admit I'm wrong if you can provide examples.
      I didn't even criticize you for doing it. I just said it's all RUclipsrs...all the time...and it's annoying.

      I like to know this information on new machines. Thats how I got my Sculpfun S30 Max Pro. Watching someone using it, I also have the extension kit but haven't put it on yet. I did just finish getting my 48x48 box for it built this morning! So excited to get the extension done. I just need to cut out a window for lexan, wire and exhaust holes.
