    Thank you so much for your advice on this product. I've had serious thoughts of giving laser engraving a go ever since I saw your first video on it but I didn't want to go all out with a large complicated machine. This looks like the way to go for me. Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.

      Thank you. It’s a great starting point as it’s not as overwhelming and the footprint is fantastic. Glad I could help. They are lots of fun😀

    Thanks for the review, very helpful. I'm more in the market for a cutter and this helped rule out what would have been a wrong purchase.
    Good luck.

    Sounds like the iCube2 will be a winner once they get the bugs out... but geez, a winner for Stall holders currently!

      I agree James. V2 I think will be an even bigger winner then V1. Exciting to have something in the meantime :)

    Great review! Will this machine will be able to engrave metal water bottles? or will be too much trouble to adjust it? I'm looking for an affordable and beginner level entry to engrave mainly metal water bottles and cups. Thank you!

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey I don't believe you can use the rotary with the laser which is what you will need to do bottles. The laser will engrave metal water bottles as long as there is a coating on it. For example if you have a coloured bottle the laser will remove the colour to reveal the metal under it. If your only looking to engrave and mostly bottles I would recommend the S9 as it will allow you to do that but also have room to engrave other projects. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for this informative review. My wife just got me one for Christmas, and I'm wondering if it can be used indoors without an additional air filter box.

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  10 месяцев назад +3

      Thank you. It will depending what your engraving. The inbuilt filtering system does a pretty good job. I would operate near a window and have it open just as an extra thing and see how you go. If you found it was smelly I would get a fan and blow it towards the window but can be in used inside. It’s now where hear as smelly as the other bigger lasers

    Is it easy to align materials under the laser? Looking to make watch dials and fractions of a mm mater

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  13 дней назад

      With the Icube I would say its challenging to aligh to a fraction of a mm. My best suggestion would be to create a jig so you can repeat the laser engrave. The Icube out of all the lasers was challenging to align as things are not center where you think they would be. I would look at the G9 that has just come out as this in my opinion is an upgraded verison of these.

    Would you recommend this for elementary school students? If not, what one would you recommend?

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  9 месяцев назад

      The Icube would be a great starting point for sure. It does have better laser protection and is fairly simply to operate as its really only meant for engraving. If the budget allows and you don't need the portability I would recommend and S30 as they offer versatility and will be much longer if ever that you feel like you have out grown the machine. All the machines really operate the same. It comes down to learning the software and understanding the settings. Hope this helps.

    We bought this after this review, but we are having the most difficult time getting the software to download. It wont work on our windows computer or mac. Claims the file is broken. Did you have to download that software? The sculpfun one for the internet connection or something. We got the app fine, but the software we cant figure out.

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations  7 месяцев назад

      Thankyou. I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe the Sculpfun software works on a computer. I believe it is only a mobile app. For computer software I recommend Lightburn. Best thing to do is to join the Facebook group and ask about the computer issue there but I don't think it is designed to work on a computer. Only a mobile device.

    i have had a mindsplitting problem since getting mine; when i turn on machine,my cell phone sees a model 25711 wifi signal,i go to put in p/w and nothing happens- no connection;THE INSTRUCTIONS show a different model number,HOW weird is that? tech support tries to help,but being on planet Mars (China) is not helping....they do NOT communicate enough,even after trying with YET more instructions about the process...
    just bizarre as hell.

      @@SmallFryCreations I'm a member of a local invention club... I took the machine over there and they figured it.. has nothing to do with model #,, got it working okay but I'd say the app is a little bit unstable, can lose the Wi-Fi conn, and get confused by the IP addr; so app can behave a little weird

    It's trash you should avoid this laser, I have a Sculpfun S9 and made the mistake of ordering this laser for my wife because I trusted Sculpfun. After a two week ship time I attempt to setup and use the iCube and it was dead on arrival. I had to email Sculpfun customer service repeatedly and send them 4 seperate videos of the machine not working on two different computers to actually get the motherboard replaced all the while being treated as if I was attempting to rip them off. Fast forward two weeks of waiting and now over a month of owning the laser and replacing the motherboard, I finally get to use my iCube and it had so much wobble that the machine could not cut a circle at even the slowest speed.....buyer beware...Maybe I got a trash unit but I would save the money and find another "hobby laser" if I were you. I've sent a final photo of the horrible wobble in the laser to Sculpfun , but based on my experience with their customer service so far, I highly doubt I receive anything other than deflection.

  • @hineko_

    Its a hobby grade thing. Don't buy it for any business purposes.(Don't buy this trash even for hobby, Id say).
    1. As you can see, it lacks any sort of holds or rulers on its table that could help you place your item correctly for reproduceable results. You can't even turn laser on to help you aim. It can only briefly show you the box it will target.
    2. Only the basic app is free. Their normal software will cost you 60$ more.
    3. The construction is flimsy, the plastic table(the base) is not even. Inserting the protective screen for every burn is annoying and it also pushes the device up, making table to move and to rise even more in the front.
    4. Hard to explain, but the laser burn is not even, when it does long passes compared to short ones(or maybe it's power is not automatically adjusted). It visibly burns material stronger on short passes
    In summary: only buy it as a toy for your kid(if you trust him not to ruin burn his eyes)
