Well, Max Temkin is one of the original developers of "Secret Hitler"... Having this video on his RUclips channel seems to me like at least a semi-endorsement of the vid..
Bill Bobaggins “hitler”, “fascists” , and “liberals” are really just stand-ins for the game concept. It’s really not a political game, but if you go to the amazon reviews some people get heated lol.
This was so great! I like to play this game in my classes when we start our WWII unit, but I started explaining it to my 6th graders today since they had extra time. There were a few rules that I forgot! I'm going to show this video to them so that we can play the game on Monday. Thank you!
This is my go to for explaining how this game works and if they may want to play. It's such a short video and whilst isn't thorough explains tne overall ideas well enough with a very interesting style.
Was hoping to dig this out at the weekend with a bunch of my Polish chums. Great tutorial. Now I just need to convince 5 Poles to play a Hitler-centric bluffing game.
Joey McCaslin The point I made wasn’t “Tabletop.” The point I made was “Wil Wheaton.” Plus, I’ve heard that the host of GameNight isn’t nearly as good.
@@RhynoBytes857 its not as flashy as Tabletop but the hosts are amazing and they do a great job of explaining games. They are 7 seasons in with over 200 games played.
Oh, I know this game! My great grandpa played it when he was young, sometime in the 1920s, and won some kind of big match! Though we don't really talk about it at home.
This is only if there are 5 players. Fascists and Hitler only know each other’s identities if there are only 5-6 players since that is the minimum players needed to play the game. Once there are more than 6 players, Hitler no longer knows the identities.
How 'bout a twist home rule? Nazis are a separate faction, who can use the "purge" power, so to speak, and everyone has to band to defend against the Nazis. A) The hilarity of Fascists and Communists having to band together. B) Reflects real life, where other fascists were purged by the Nazis, austrofascists and strasserites.
so if president is random and is fascist cuz u know rng and elects hitler as chancellor and it gets through, then the games literally over in a minute?
The most interesting thing about secret Hitler is that it's a solved game and the liberals literally can't lose as long as they implement an authoritarian method of playing the game😅
Need to have the trump fascist cards updated with bill barr and steve mnuchin instead of bannon and spicer... and have that more widely distributed....
I love everything about this, but man, something about potentially being "Hitler" and by extension playing a game that forces me to root for and really want Hitler and his Nazis to win and do what they do just really rubs me the wrong way. Like, did I just spend half an hour secretly desiring to successfully orchestrate the Holocaust? I guess we ALL are the "Secret" Hitler. The philosophical repercussions will haunt me forever. :(
Does the game come with 8-10 friends?
Yes you can play at any amount 5 or above
@@foodhi2880 I think you missed the joke.
EightThreeEight Ohhh I didn’t see the wording lol.
5-10 players
Baltiyar Balcıoğlu did you miss the joke?
such a well made and executed video everything from the script, wil's voice, the expressions of the players to the game itself is interesting
Okay so this is the best video for this. Why doesn’t it have an official endorsement?
Well, Max Temkin is one of the original developers of "Secret Hitler"... Having this video on his RUclips channel seems to me like at least a semi-endorsement of the vid..
The instructions link to this video when you buy the game
The official secret hitler app links to this vid for the "how to play".
this video is literally the one they play on their website?
@@franman781 is it an app? I didn't see anything to download
just seems to be a website
Possibly the best explanation video for this game on RUclips
Aaaah the good old days me and my friends used to play every night. Now none of us talks to each other because of lies.
Seriously the BEST video explaining Secret Hitler - found it years ago & still use it to explain to new players. Thank you!

Does that come with model airplanes? 😉 (too soon?)
Thank you I completely understand how to play and I dont even have the game yet

My grandparents love this game
I love the amount of thought that went into this
The fact that I watched so much of Wil Wheaton's tabletop that I instantly recognized him.
The thumbnail would also work for a Vox video
Yes, the production definitely reminds me of Vox, and I mean that as a compliment.
Vox if it didn't suck 💀
This is my go to for explaining how this game works and if they may want to play. It's such a short video and whilst isn't thorough explains tne overall ideas well enough with a very interesting style.
I so wanted Wil to say "Its time to play, Secret Hitler" and do his Vanna White move. God do I miss TableTop.....

what a great great introduction to a boardgame. well done guys!
Step 1: look for a mustache
Thank you for that, Hwil Hweaton!
I know it's been said in the comments already, but man, this makes me miss TableTop. And also, excellent video!
I do like the idea. I miss the third faction of commies. It would be much more intresting game.
There are plenty of mods out there, you just have to look for them.
I would love to see Wil Wheaton play this on Tabletop!!!
If tabletop was still around 😞
Tabletop isnt a thing..but check out GameNight!

The 1920s? So, ~20 years before WWII? 🤔
Thanks, really visual so it helped seeing it played out with actual people. Seems so simple now
All the discarded cards go back into the pack(under)?
is it possible my game did not come with the two president and chancellor things? I have two large sheets instead
Can I play this game 15-34 people?
no
@@yoshae8076 thanks mate!
Who are you and how did you get Wil Wheaton?
This video just makes me want table top back
Ive beeb playing this with regular cards lmao, for the last 2 years
Many friendships broken due to this game !! :)
Question: if I am secret hitler and I get voted counselor right at the beginning then is that it? Game over?
I think it has to be after 3 policy cards are inacted
@@coleklaassen9427 3 fascist policies that is
That's an interesting take on Germany in 1930'th. Though, i'm not sure what board games have to do with it.
Are you going to actually show the game being played? It looks like you guys are having fun.
The veto option was not included in this video that gets implemented if the fascists have five policies
So this is what Will Wheaton is doing nowadays
Great video! Love the content. Keep it up. Better than rules girl.
SMOSH
This game has created more conflicts than the actual WW2.
Seems to work very well for a drink game! (as politic itself lol)
nice video!
Sorry basically Ultimate Werewolf with propaganda inserted.
...but the directions say Hitler opens his eyes and "does" know who the other fascists are....so??

what a good game
Hello
Oh, cool
so if president is random and is fascist cuz u know rng and elects hitler as chancellor and it gets through, then the games literally over in a minute?
That only applies after 3 or 4 fascist policies have been put into place. Can't happen before then.
@@Bag3lzAs late response but thx anyway im stupid
When I buy this game to play with my cousins. Them: how do you play? Me: its difficult to explain. Watch this video before we play
This game is a exact replica of a game called avalon except they have a medieval theme
Untrue, go watch the developer's GDC video first: ruclips.net/video/6-IJZrrMFpE/видео.html.
