Really dude.. Invicta. I guess your unsubscribed. Base on my two explorers and my Omega seamaster.. I believe this is one of the best deals around. Period.
Yes , totally agree . Unreal that this character would compare this Zeno to Invicta. Really, this guy is a joke. This is the first, and I guess only video I watch on this clown.
That's a masterpiece of summarized info you've put behind / in front of this watch purchase. Like an geologist picking up an insignificant stone and describing its history up to the big bang. Absolutely enjoyed this approach.
So after my comment some time ago I have to say that I still love this watch. I did a service of the automatic works since it was very gummed up, probably the NOS movement was not properly serviced from Zeno. I do my own watch services so not a big deal, but really should not be needed on a new watch like this one. Timekeeping is very good and the watch is still one of my favorites. These go on sale from time to time, and at around the $350 mark it is a good watch. I hope that Zeno continues to make these, and hopefully increases the quality. Like I mentioned before the crystal had finger smudges underneath, but that cleaned up fine, so a little more quality control is needed, but I love mine.
🤣 I think it's important to explain, at least to ourselves, how we can enjoy a watch AND understand the enjoyment can come from a mixture of objective and intangible qualities. History doesn't have to matter. But it also doesn't have to not matter either.
Spot on review. I have had two of these, sold the first and regretted it, so bought my current one. I was at around $340, Ashford sale. The finishing is OK, not great, the brushing on the lug tops looks like they didn't quite finish it, stopping short with a small circular ridge midways down each lug. The specs are not the best, and the AS movement is very unfinished and utilitarian in looks, mine had a Tressa branded rotor, so something of a parts bin watch. Also, mine had major smudges under the crystal, so I removed the movement and cleaned the crystal. The AS movement arrived with a slightly sticky rotor, so it seems a little gummed up, so I will service the automatic works. All in all, around the $350 mark is a good deal, nothing more though. Do I love this watch...yes. It is one of my most worn watches. It is like a shelter dog, rough and unloved, then it gives back 10 fold, also the bracelet is a little chunky looking for the case size, but throw on a leather band or my favorite the beads of rice bracelet and the vintage look shines through.
Glad you were able to take away an overall positive sentiment from this video. This is truly an enthusiast's watch and one that adds a lot of value at least to my collection🍻
@SimucomWE Thanks for the video, it was incredibly well done. There are very few videos out there on this watch, and none go into the level of detail. Very important for people to know the pros and cons, especially if they are considering buying anywhere close to the retail price.
This is interesting. I know of a few of these brands but not their origins. I have heard the story from Hayek onwards but not before... Its just a simple sports watch that looks Tudor/Ranger-ish so it does what its meant to do without flair. What more can you ask! Have a good one bro!
Very true. It's a perfectly fine watch. However I can confidently say that at least for me it does not offer anything more than what I can find in an Invicta Pro Diver. Were it priced differently then my opinion would be much different. Keep in mind, the $350 pricetag is ONLY because no one was buying it at $700 lol. Even then I could not recommend it to anyone at 50% off. And yet I still really like it.
Yeah it's a steep ask... Even at 350...Have you ever looked at Kingsbury watches before? They have a sub $200 field watch that you might like that offers a lot on paper for not a lot of money. I think it has an NH38, sapphire crystal, pretty good lume.
It is a very old movement (meaning that it's been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a long time). I would gently work it and "grease the gears" a bit. It should loosen up over time
Sorry, don't take that the wrong way. I speak like I'm talking to people that already know my sense of humor, which is to call all watches overpriced shitters and to enjoy them anyways🍻
Definitely got it for a somewhat reasonable price but you got it and yes if it wasn't for the divas we wouldn't be soo lucky to get the swatch moonswatch
God bless the moonswatch. If it wasn't for that we wouldn't have all of those mindless idiots driving up prices across the entire watch market, because now it's socially acceptable for a piece of shit plastic watch to be $200🤣🤣🤣
Every Swatch group watch I have owned has broken. My shitty Omega "seamaster" leaked in 5 feet of water. My Tissot pocket watch broke at the hasp. My Swatch automatic broke 1 day after the warranty ended. I sincerely hate Swatch Group and their low quality products.
Not exactly. I'm comparing 2 copies of a Rolex Explorer. At 2:54 "technically unimpressive movement" and 2:06 "fit and finish on par with a 100 dollar Invicta Prodiver" and 8:50 "shitty watch" suggests this isn't quite up to the myth of Swiss quality. For $700, or $350 if you're super lucky? Given these things I thought it worthwhile pointing out the obvious value of the quartz especially as the VH31 is a sweeper which is proving more and more popular with buyers. The bit where he calls it a "shitty watch" is the clincher. Did you not watch the whole video? 😮

I picked up the 39mm zeno from jomashop. I love the watch but when I pull the crown to set the time, it feels very tight and rough. Is this normal?
