- The Big One's latest retrack by Taziker is well underway with new track sections being lifted into place at the beginning of February 2023. Taziker are replacing 103m of track to continue their working relationship with Blackpool Pleasure Beach which has been ongoing since 2019.

Great video scott some brilliant shots showing british engineering and man and machinery at its best tell you what i couldnt be the crane driver doing that job lifting the pieces of track into place such a precise timing to get it right imagine if one of the pieces hit the track by accident and that fell 🙈but fascinating to watch feels like the big one being made all over again rode her last year around may time and you could tell easily she was due for a re track felt bit jolty and rattler so when get chance to go pleasure beach really excited to see what this track work feels like compared to the old one but brilliant job by the teams doing it fair play to them 👏

This is loosely related to the big one. I just did a survey on the name for the new ride at Thorpe Park, It included marketing material for it, which looked epic. Icarus (is the name they were testing)
Will be a shame when the Big One loses its title as the tallest, but at least it will still be here to enjoy and this retracking will make it run that little bit smoother (faster)
I keep thinking they’ll eventually call it Exodus

I must of missed a couple of videos. Not like me that as been here since the Start. Didn't even realise the name change. Love the vlog,great insight. I for one appreciate all your very hard work.The vids believe it or not got me through a very very tough time in my life. On a side note, I always feel the front buildings are in a sorry state. A lot closed up. Bit of a sad approach when you’re travelling past them

Lovely to see they prolonging the life span of the big one do you know if they said valhella opening proper in March or later maybe easter cause it's appeared on the Web site map as new

I see they're removing track up in Ripon too at The Ultimate at LWV. Shame they aren't replacing it. 😔

@@yourexperienceguide I'm just gutted that I never got to ride it. I've only been to LWV once back in 1985. They had a Sinclair C5 as a ride ffs!!

Are they literally just bolted together in sections? I always assumed there’d be some welding involved, but seeing they are painted I don’t think this is the case. These must be cut to a massive degree of accuracy to slot straight in without any noticeable movement of the track under load!
Bolted to each other and the supports. During the manufacturing process at Taziker the track is bolted together in the formation it'll be going onto the ride to ensure everything fits.
Loosely related, but with project exodus taking the record of the tallest ride in the UK, the big one will no longer have that record. But with the closure of the ultimate at lightwater valley, it seems like the Big one will gain a new record... The title of the longest coaster in Europe.

The Big One had been retracked in the past few months.
The Big One’s track was removed at the end of 2022 and the new sections were lifted into place this week.
Would the supports need redone at some point? Also really looks like they could do with a lick of paint now.
They’d only need to adjust the supports and footers if the layout was being changed. Definitely needs paint.
Hi Scott, Very interesting video. It's great to see fitting along side Nemesis a re-track taking place with the big one. However there is also of course sad news of the Ultimate at Lite water Valley as a decision has been made to Scrap it 😢😢😢.
I've memories of riding the Ultimate and it was a brilliant coaster even involved British Rail when it was built. For the 🇬🇧 it was the longest Roller-coaster as I'm sure you will already now this. I actually feel like many more, it's the wrong decision to have taken to Scrap the Ultimate, Just as a bad a decision when Amanda took of her own decision to scrap The Wild Mouse. Just of interest have you done any videos of the sad removal of the Ultimate.

I've no purpose to visit Lite Water Valley now anymore so like Camalot it may as well close its doors 🚪 permanently such a poor sad decision to have made regarding the Ultimates removal. Pleasure beach is a Victorian scrap yard with some 100 yr old rides 😂 Go to Alton Towers it’s a million times better!
Victorian era ended at the start of the 1900s, so you’re a few years out 😆
