Your videos are great but can you please stop making random things pop up on the screen it feels like a scamming virus when i accidentally click on it trying to close it smh these ads and pop ups ads are just not cool at all smh what happened to just watching the vid and that being enough for the creators, now we are forced to watch like 10 -15 second ads over and over and over and over
I only realised Cabramatta has the best deal of seafood after the boss of a Chinese restaurant told me so during Pandemic when Australian lobsters were unfortunately stuck in Australia for some reasons.
Visited Cambodia for my honeymoon (wedding anniversary 10 years ago today) amazing country. The people were so friendly and the food was amazing!! Highly recommended
As a Finnish person who now lives in FNQ and has studied Thai culinary arts and history for over 12 years (amongst culinary arts from it's neighbouring countries) i can say that a lot of Aussies have no idea how lucky they are being in such proximity to South-East Asia and having people from multiple countries and tribes bringing their vibrant traditions to the country.. Not to mention the beauty of first nation traditions and cuisines. Australia is such a beautiful melting pot of cultures despite it's horrendous past caused by westerners.
Kev is an outstanding co-host/guide. He has great knowledge and is low key goofy. Btw Cambodian food is seriously 🔥. It’s a shame they don’t get the same exposure as other Asian cuisines. Looking forward to more SE Asian eats!
I know the food between Cambodia and Vietnam often overlap, but felt like the 2nd half was just mostly Vietnamese lol. As for the che ba mau (3 color desert) is best mixed and eaten with a spoon. The coconut helps by mixing with jelly and red beans so won't taste too sweet. It would mix in and the ice melts slowly as well helping with the sweetness of the jelly. Great video and a nice change up!
I visited Cambodia for all of 2 days with my dad once. It's not in this video, but we tried Fish Amok and it was so good. My dad loved it so much he replicated it with as much accuracy as possible when we got back home. I would love to try all of the delicious Cambodian food in this video! And that rice roll restaurant is ingenious. I live near a Vietnamese neighborhood but there isn't anything like that. Which is maybe a good thing because I would eat there every day.
Seeing the fruit covered in chili reminded me of how I grew up eating fruit with salt, lime, and chili powder! My family is from mexico and its how we regularly eat fruit. I'm so curious how lac lac tastes cause it looked so delicious. Thank you for another great video!
Hello from Cambodia! By the way, you might be missing our traditional food such as: 1. Ahmok, 2. Beef Loklak rice, 3. Pork Rice. You should try and make another video.
Just subscribed! I've been sampling your content for a few days. I grew up near Seattle. Like Sydney, there is a huge Asian influence in the Pacific Northwest, especially along the coast. Learning more about what I may have sampled (or not) is super interesting to me (half-Chinese from an immigrant to the US).
@@BlondieinChina You should see where I live now! Have you heard of a small mountain town in SoCal called Idyllwild? I live a few miles from there off the grid.
I’m Cambodian, and I’ve been following you for a long time. So, I couldn’t help but freaked out a little bit when I saw the title lol because it took me by surprise (in a good way of course). Thank you for trying our food!
The "mini guava" you ate looks like kedondong! It's popular in Malaysia/Indonesia, eaten pickled or fresh with chilli, sugar, salt or on its own. I grew up eating it in Singapore :)
We also do lime and chilli on fruit in México! We normally do it on mango an other sweeter fruits, so it probably would be a flavour profile that would go better with you, Amy. I would love to try the Cambodian version 💖
I’m Vietnamese-Chinese and from Canada! I thought that you’d find it interesting that “lắc” means shake/to shake. I am by no means fluent like my parents, but the name basically is just referring to the shaken nature of mixing up the fruit. My Dad often shakes up green apple chunks with chilli shrimp salt as a snack! The chè ba màu literally translates to 3 coloured dessert. Chè is a category of deserts, and the 3 colours is traditionally the red crunchy bits/beans, green for the pandan jelly squiggles, and yellow for mung bean. Anyways, so glad to see you enjoying Vietnamese food, and South East Asian food in general. You should definitely stop by the China towns and whatnot in Canada and the US if you like this!
With intense competition, for individuals,Cabramatta maybe the cheapest place to buy seafood with most varieties in NSW rather than Sydney Fish Market, though retailers in Cabramatta buy from the Sydney Fish Market in commercial quantities.
I'm glad I had a late supper because I just knew I'd be hungry after watching! Yep, I had my fill of home cooking and somehow my stomach is craving food that I'll never get to have. Unless, of course, I win the lottery and travel. 🤞🏼 Amy, your videos go by in a flash and that's a compliment. Someone suggested once I watch at .75X speed and I always do. Yet I'm wanting more; call me greedy 😂
Hey Amy, been following your channel for a long time though it's my first time to leave comments. Love when you say garlicky, pickle-y and every other adjective you use to describe the foods. I think it's very cute.
I've had sugar cane shrimps before, I didn't know you have to take the shrimp paste out from the cane. I bit the cane and the shrimp paste together and it was great.

The Crunchy sour fruit with the green skin is the TAHITIAN QUINCE or Trai Coc in Vietnamese.
@@sportsonwheelss Ahhh yes that's it! The name escaped me
Great video! That fruit was an ambarella fruit 😊

Can't wait! Part 2/3/4/5/6 couldn’t come quick enough!!
Omg as a fellow Sydney foodie absolutely loved this collab with 2 of the greats! Also Amy giving you the lacteeze haha soo good!

Cambodia food so yummy yummy 😋❤
Love how wholesome you are towards other culture’s food. Btw we usually eat that che ba mau dessert rather than drinking it in Cambodia and Vietnam.

The mini guava, is ambarella, you can have it as a drink as well, it’s quite refreshing
Great review well done 👍
The fruit at 14:10 is called a buah long long/ ambarella! One of my favourite fruits!! I've seen them more commonly in Malaysia, Vietnam

food looks amazing! plus i think i’m in love with kev haha
❤
I've had sugar cane shrimps before, I didn't know you have to take the shrimp paste out from the cane. I bit the cane and the shrimp paste together and it was great.
Yum! I’ve had an avocado smoothie with Nutella added from an Indonesian restaurant. So good! 😋
Looks good

Amy eating that broken spring roll is so hilarious hahaha good effort Amy! You got this with more practice !
