Great video thanks. What dickhead thought it was a good idea to make you have to remove the whole system board to change the cmos battery? Nice one Lenovo.
Does this system board have a cmos / bios battery on the motherboard? Every few days my laptop would lose the time and I have to go into bios to set time again… or just replacing the battery itself will resolve this issue?
Great Video . Please let me know if I can replace my X1 Carbon 3rd Gen Motherboard with 15-5 Gen CPU BY another x1 Carbon 3rd Gen Motherboard with i7-5 gen CPU ?? thanks alot
question: the screen seems to be ONE part with the glass on the front. means that a 14" screen is usually about 185mm high. But with the glass it would be even higher (idk maybe 220 mm). So can i seperate the touchdisplay from the glass/front cover so that ive got a working WQHD IPS Touchscreen with a hight of about 185mm?
Hi seattle0234 would you be able to share the utility to update the machine type, model etc? I had my motherboard changed and have not been able to update that info in the bios. I searched high and low without any luck. Please let me know, thanks.

@@ВасяПупкин-ю2х8й You MUST be reading my mind. about 2 hours ago, I remembered that I didn't get around to doing this. I'm using the gen2 right now to to type this. I have the Gen 3 gathering dust in MINT condition. I'm going to make the time to do the swap over the weekend as the boards are identical other than the processor generation and integrated graphic card version.
@@MrHenriksorg are there any down sides to not doing this? I replaced the motherboard in my x1 carbon 3rd gen, and everything works fine. Obviously different serial numbers and such, but it works just the same
This video helped me a lot I was removing the motherboard and when I watched the video show me that I did not remove the Sim card door

can you tell me if this has a cmos battery??? Thank you
Yes, there's a CMOS battery under the motherboard, but you have to remove the motherboard first
Hi.Where can I buy the motherboard ? Mine is broken as well. Thanks
Call Lenovo get maintenance contract
Cmos chilling to the side. Not sure why thwo motherboards fail my repair I'm baffled
We cant see what you are doing at the end of the video to enter serial number???
Yes. Lenovo requires to input the old specs like the serial and type after changing mainboards.
