Would love to see a reaction to them crooked vultures self titled. It’s a supergroup with Josh Homme (guitar and vocals), dave grohl (drums), John Paul jones (bass and piano) and Alain johannes (rhythm guitar). Probably the best rock album of the 2000s at least in my opinion.
That acoustic outro for Straight Jacket Fitting is the same melody as Obscenery the opening track. And both those songs have a fade out towards an orchestra. The album literally puts you through a loop if you had this on replay.

everytime i hear it, those riffs from Obscenery stand out from everything else that is also awesome about his album. specifically the transition from the strings to riff at about 1:47, and then when they play a variation on the riff (but almost doubled down, more filled out), at around 3:38 or so. then the really nice chorus and then the quirky little solo in Made to Parade, Into an excellent Outro (you see what i did there?)...and What the Peephole Say sneaks up on you and makes you like it after kind of a mundane beginning (same way Negative Space did). of course i like Carnavoyeur--pretty classic QOTSA sounds there. i liked Emotion Sickness when it came out (and the video is fantastic), but these other songs outshine it for sure. like...Straight Jacket Fitting--just ridiculously good, again. catchy as hell.
@kasper7001 don't get me wrong... I like almost EVERYTHING on this album. Took me some spins... but when I first heard Paper Machete I was happy as well.
here's a suggestion from a band not many have heard of: Fair to Midland's last album, Arrows & Anchors. you'll LOVE the vocals especially, and they're quite similar to QOTSA in that they write some of the hookiest music around. they are the ONLY band i rate ahead of QOTSA in my entire music listening history, if that says anything.
I found this band a month or so ago because of this comment, and I am loving A&A. Haven't explored anything else from them yet, but loving what I've heard so far. Favourite song is probably Coppertank Island. They give me slight SOAD vibes, which is always welcomed with open arms. Thanks for the recommendation!
@hiddeneye9723 sorry, didn't see this, but you are welcome. I just wish there was a deeper catalog for them. That said, give Rishloo a listen. These bands were kind of similar in several ways (including vocal style), & they were fans of one another. First recommendations: Freaks & Animals Scissorlips Feathergun in the House of the Sun Diamond Eyes Just brilliant stuff there... I've used them to supplement the lack of mass in FTM's discography.
I love Straight Jacket Fitting cuz he is describing the world we are living in right now he is awesome I love Josh also how he referenced The Doors Roadhouse Blues

@@KasperReacts desert sessions is josh homme's side project with guests from everywhere(matt berry is on one song lol). 11 and 12 is on caliber with qotsa's recent stuff. But it'd be cool if u do Villains cause no ones reacted to it, its their album before this and its on par with ITNR but more dancey.
