While I like all cruisers a lot,my favorite type are standard midweight cruisers, such as Kawasaki Vulcan EN500, Suzuki Savage, Honda Shadow 600 and 750, HD Sportster and similar bikes, they have the comfort and long distance highway riding capabilities of big cruisers, while still being small and light enough to be practical for city riding.
@@Rob-lj1jl You should try a Sportster newer than 2007. I think that was the first year with fuel injection. I have a nightster 2008, wonderful machine!!!
No way... Sportsters are not comfortable for long haul... I've done several times and get my body in pieces every time (consider that I have better suspension and great seat). If you like HD, try a Fat Boy or a Softail, completely different, or an adventure as a Tiger or a BMW GS...
The smaller ones are fun. However, you can run a muscle cruiser in a city, just fine. I daily a VTX 1800, and live in a decent sized city, with no issues. But I love breaking out the XS Eleven, XS 650, the wife's VT 1100, the CB 750, or the Norton Commando, out for a city ride as well.
That Honda Fury turned out to be the best commuter scooter I ever had. Over 10K miles a year. Comfortable and rideable. Short range though. Looking for a 2 up cruiser now but keeping the Fury
A bit of history: The term "Chopper" originated after WW2 when returning GI's bought war surplus bikes and stripped everything unessential to gain cheap performance. As they got older and bought newer bikes they did the same thing. It wasn't until '64-'65 that extended front ends soon followed with apehangers made the scene and gained popularity--with the same bare essentials. This is the bike the general Public cognized as a "Chopper". Of course there HAS to be an opposite end of the spectrum--Dressers. And these could (and did) get really elaborate but what is termed "Bagger" today would qualify. Any bike with extras or "farkles" was a "Dresser". --'69 Electra Glide
I got my first bike 2 years ago. it was a 05 Honda Shadow 750. A year later I got a 07 Honda VTX 1300. Im a 230 pound, 35 year old male But if you are doing research on what bike to get check out Srkcycles. I watched a lot of his videos. Check out Fortnine for gear reviews and MCrider for motorcycle training. I hope to see you on the road.
I think Baggers subdivide further into full-dress baggers and retro, classic baggers. The full-dress crowd gets Gold Wings or Ultra Glides with full fairings, GPS, and every possible option. Their bike is like a two-wheeled luxury car. The retro-classic baggers would love to have a pan head from 1947 and want the closest thing to that that they can get. Which means a big touring bike, but stripped down, like a Road King or Indian Springfield. With the windscreen and bags taken off, these are actually very basic (albeit very big) machines. These may seem like small differences, but they're not. Most Road King riders wouldn't be caught dead on an Ultra Glide, even though the mechanicals are pretty similar.
Currently riding a goldwing GL1200. Looking at buying my girlfriends dads 91 Harley softail. Thinking about going either bobber or bagger with it. I ride a lot of old man bikes for a 24 year old.
Spite!! The dyna bro/club style look is not to slam the rear end but jack it up and have a 2 into 1 not short shots...you’re thinking of the wide glides.
Just started a job at Harley Davidson, one of my responsibilities is detailing the motorcycles. Number 2 is dead on correct, I’ve seen every one of those things on many bikes. I’m a Harley boy, but jeez some of us need to calm down
I'll admit to being only a casual watcher, what is it that you 'don't like' about the Vulcan S? Is there only a visual complaint, or is it based on some spec? I'll admit the S does nothing exceptionally, but also does nothing poorly. It's easily quick enough to kill inexperienced riders, and 'cruiser' enough to log 100's of miles in a day. To me, the 'bang for buck' ratio is REALLY high with a Vulcan S. I made my used 2015 purchase Vulcan S with only 6k on it for less than 4000. Compared to my first bike, a Shadow 1100c, the Vulcan is quicker off the line, faster at the top end, better gas mileage, and, to me, better looking, and at near 1/3 the cost after TTL taxes, and registration. 3700 miles logged in less than 5 months and a big smile on my face.
Sorry, dude. You are using logic, facts, and figures. That means nothing to most of the cruiser crowd. I don't think most cruiser guys are looking for quick and efficient fun; they are looking for a bike that has "character." As it relates to a cruiser, I have found that "character" generally means "no redeeming quality, but I still like it for reasons I can't explain." Personally, I agree with you on the Vulcan S; good looking, quick, and low cost of operation. I nearly bought a brand new Vulcan S when it was time to get my first motorcycle. But then I found a guy selling his Harley V-Rod Muscle with less than 7K miles on it for less than $8K. So now I ride a Harley, and I can tell you that it is objectively worse than the Vulcan S for a new rider. I can also tell you that, if I had to chose all over again, I'd still chose the V-Rod.
Obviously personal opinion and taste to follow... the Vulcan S has the second ugliest headlight in the world of motorcycling, and I'm not even sure why. When I look closely I can't pinpoint why I hate it so much, but on a look something about how it merges into the forks and the acorn/strawberry shaped output makes me wanna hit it with a cricket bat. Could be worse though, it could be a Street Triple. Don't get me wrong, I'd buy the shit outta a Street Triple, but I'd also have an aftermarket headlight already waiting to bolt on.
Got me a sportster 48 1200 2 months ago. Little on the bigger side I think considering it's my first bike but I took a seat on it and knee it was mine.. thanks for all the advice yammi 🤙 definitely found MY bike in a sea of squid missiles and sport tourers
Main problem with choppers with excesive long telescopic system is that when you turn they massively modify the geometry of the vehicle, a centered hub steering will be ideal here cause it won't modify the geometry when turning at extreme levels unlike the telescopic system
Honestly I switched from my fz09 to a dyna and I love the bike. The only thing that’s hard for me is dropping the $ to make it look like some shit outta SOA. You can buy and fully build a 1000 for what a stock Harley costs
I've wanted a bike for years actually watching this channel off and on since I started having an interest. And tomorrow (a handful of hours) I'm going to go look at one. I'm definitely more of a cruiser person so I find it funny you released this video a few days before Im going to go get one. I am so exited to get out there and ride. And maybe I'll run into you some time since I too live in the Austin area. Just want to say thank you for the years of videos and content
While I would love to have a Diavel my muscle bike of choice is a 2006 Harley VRSCR Street Rod. It has everything that a muscle bike should. 120 hp, Inverted Forks. Brembo brakes with braided lines, mid controls and 40 degrees of lean angle. Unfortunately it was only produced for two years but it is actually a great bike. In fact Cycle World even listed it as one of the best used bikes.
Those are pretty hard to come by, always wanted one! I love my XR1200 another harder to find “sport” Harley but I don’t think I would call it a cruiser...
Vince Tucker Yeah people freaked out when it was announced as a Europe only model and then they didn’t buy them. I remember our local dealer had one for the longest time. If I would’ve had the funds I would’ve bought it but unfortunately I didn’t . The funny thing is that when I bought my VRSCR I had actually went to buy a ZX-14 but I’ve always loved the VRSCR so when I saw that they had one I bought it instead.
Roger Farrier yeah I got my XR1200 from a guy who baught it and put it in a plexiglass case with extremely low miles. I also loved those VRSCR’s and honestly only seen one with the special VROD production drag bike at a dealer, Never seen one on the road! Very nice 👍🏻
What about an Honda Shadow Phantom 750... I would love to see a video on that bike... Thumbs-up for your video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Have a great rest of your day 👍🏾 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 👍🏾🌵🦠😷🇵🇷
I'm a muscle, chopper, and bobber guy - I currently own Fury and Diavel, and recently looking at Indian Scott Bobber, which might replaces the Diavel, the Fury is so pretty to let go!
Kind of, imagine trying to jam a quarter of LA I a small barn house that is Sturgis. It’s literally a small blip on I-90 that’s thousands come to every year. It’s definitely a culture though. I lived here my whole life too lol
You know, I never thought about it, but I know a guy with the full Screamin' Eagle 131ci Street Glide with the 30-inch front wheel and the lights and the speakers in the bags and the Tour Pack full of subwoofers and the heavy metalflake paint and more chrome than paint and he is ABSOLUTELY a 'Busa Boy!... But he hates 'Busas, so Bagger Boy maybe?
My misses hates being on the back of my SV, and I figured I might like a cruiser, and she might as well. After watching this, ill just get a stronger SS and a better seat🤷🏻♂️😂
I 🤍 my Scout! In 15 minutes, I can go from sporting (or cruising around town with my 10y/o daughter) to bagging. I DID go 2 to 1 AND replaced my stock rear with a nice adjustable rear set. I'm actually talking to a custom shop guy about building me a custom sidecar. FTR: 6'1", 335lbs, 38y/o...and the Scout fits me perfectly.
@@CharlesVanexX I got the scout bobber, I like the reg scout but I wasn't a fan off all the looks. I went with the Indian because of the better price and there really isn't a direct Harley comparison. You should beable to go out and test rid the bike, that's what I did
@@rohinhans7819 Oh I didn't know you could do that, I've been looking at the Indian scouts for a hot minute. Checked out the 883 iron and then people made fun of me. Still don't understand why.
Just got my first bike, a clean 97 Shadow Spirit 1100 in white, black and red accents. 1000$ CAD with bags, windshield, seat and bars for passenger, guys I'm the happiest guy ever!
I actually enjoy the Vulcan s, I have fun on it. I have some minor complaints. No front LEDs, a little bit jerky, wish it had a better lean angle like the rebels . All in all still a decent bike.
What "kind" of Sportster is that @ :10 - :12 seconds? I absolutely love the way it looks. When I search "Harley Davidson Sportster" on Google, I can't find one that looks like it.
Each piece of chrome add 1 H.P. , so always replace in pairs. I have an Indian Chief. Does it go fast ? pretty fast , but the death wobble is scary. Does it turn well ? - nope Does it cruise well ? - You betcha Is it pretty? - It's gorgeous !
You really don¿t like the Vulcan? I just had the chance to test one, and it was a pretty comfortable bike, the power was not bad and it was an all around good experience
It doesn't appear that this guy likes anything. He's too cool to like anything. But not like "Hipster too cool" because hipsters are stupid just like bobbers, choppers, baggers, busas, harleys, hondas, suzukis, stock bikes, custom bikes, bikes bought already built or building bikes already stock. He's a god. A mere myth among the common man.
I've never own a motorcycle but I can confidently say that I love cruiser bikes I like the style, I'm more of a "enjoy the ride type guy" not speed, So as a beginner I'm gonna get the 2024 Honda rebel 500 it's a cruiser for beginners and it's cheap so it's a bang for the buck
The guy in the Aprilia absolutely knew your bike wasn't a sportsperson but he'd thought of the kine a half hour beforehand and wasn't gonna let it go once you stopped and he saw your bike.
I didn't get a Rockform, because a case for my Note 9 was not in stock, when I was shopping. The GUB Bicycle & Motorcycle Phone Mount I got instead has served me well, through many miles, holding any case I have.
I am surprised that you did not have at least one Moto Gusi or a BMW in the bagger group. These are two wonderful bikes that travel well and have good power to handle any type of situation.
Ur pretty good YammyNoob,BUT seeing a certain group do some good music gonna + 60 % more power to the rear tire? what kind of gas additive R U putting in ur coffee?
I've been riding dirt bikes for the last 20 years and I'm finally getting something for the street. Do you think a fat 650lb cruiser is too much to start developing street skills on?
Brandon them dyna boys love their dynas haha they are fun though pretty Torquey the early 2000’s ones with the 88” motor have a shorter wheelbase so they’re easier to wheelie but they’re all pretty fun
I'm not a cruiser guy, but will admit that the allure of muscle cruisers and the Indian Scout are the exceptions to the rule. Nothing better than having your arms torn off as you rocket up into light speed. I feel the 2014/2015 Honda Valkyrie is the sweet spot. Performs like a muscle cruiser but retains the neutral Goldwing ergonomics, which is my general beef with cruisers. (No, one's feet should never be in front of their knees, ever!!) Honda needs to make more modern Valkyries off the updated Goldwing.
Why haven't I got rokform? Because I'm not a billionaire that's why. I mean seriously there mount is already the most expensive on the market, and then they require you to purchase the case separately
This is exactly why I didn’t get one. Put the arms in the right place, x-mount doesn’t hit any buttons, so why would anyone pay three times as much for equipment that does the exact same thing no better?
Phone mount? Hell, I run a tank bag, because it can go on any of the 7 bikes my wife and I own. Why would I want to buy 2 cases, and 7 fucking mounts? Makes no sense, especially when 2 of those bikes have drag bars. Add two fluid reservoirs, 2 grips, 2 mirrors, a solid block riser, with speedo, and there's mo real estate left for an overpriced mount.
They are worth it. Buy one rokform mount and you’re set buy other brands and you will need to replace. Also the cases have some heavy duty magnets so you really don’t need the mount. ($45 case isn’t for billionaires)
just rode a harley fat bob. first time ever riding a harley. Have been wr250r enduro man since 2015. Was looking at africa twin or yamaha tracer as next step. I have to say im totally in love with the Harley Davidson thing and are seriously considering as next step. never felt so good not to smile.
Not going to lie, I felt a bit snubbed with the lack of at least honorable mention for the Victory Octane in the muscle bike category. Scouts were on the scene when it was released, and while they looked similar, it was the engine that was different. I had many instances of Scout riders commenting we had the same bike, then the light would change and the difference instantly became noticeable. To be fair, I may have just been better off the line, but that bike was definitely a machine to put a smile on your face. Rest in Peace Victory, I truly enjoyed my time with you. Stay safe out there everyone, no matter what two wheeler you're on. Dirt bike, to trials and enduro, street racing, to daily riding, watch out for those cagers not looking for you.
I have been in the hospital for two days I just got home. I was in an accident with my bike which is totally destroyed. My left arm is fucked. Your videos really helped
Nooooo did the bobber riders dirty 😂😂 I really like the indian scout bobber I’m thinking of getting it in the future I really like how it looks and sounds
Y'all forgot the dank whoolie Dyna squid being half former motocross kid or supersport squid, half hipster club bike guy. Lol Also, the Softail lowrider s wants to be a Dyna. Just saying.
Oh definitely a little flimsy magnet seems way more secure than something that actually grips your phone!! I see a Shamwow commercial in your future. Brand “x” was tested for 2 years and never use the rubber band and the phone never slipped.
0:26 "AND NOT ONE HELMET SHALL BE WORN". The passenger on the companion bike seat of the orange bike at the left. Unless he was born with a head shaped liked that. :):):)
Totally on point. THOSE are muscle cruisers. As far as club bikes, he's got it all wrong too. It's gotta be a dyna (no wide glides) with fairings, t-bars, 2-1 exhaust and jacked up rear end. Vans and flannels are a must for dyna bro's, bro.
Is a Suzuki marauder 800 a good first bike? I’m getting it for $1000 off a friend but I’m concerned about reliability. I don’t want to throw any money in it because once I learn how to ride I’m buying a Harley.
Best cruiser style is bagger. I’d say performance bagger but that usually consists of a ridiculous punched out engine like the 131 which I just don’t think is worth the money. Just put it into suspension. The 107 and 114 have plenty of power with pipes and a tune for a back road. I hate when someone asks me how many cc? Then when I say 1800.. they’re like “oh that must be fast?” Yea fast enough to get beat by every gt car on the market. Just have fun from 0-80 after that just buy liter bike or adv bike. The cruiser market has nothing for ya.

One day she will be mine ☺
Can you still buy a new v-max?
"The 7 Different Styles of Cruiser Motorcycles - by someone who hasn't ridden any of them"
While I like all cruisers a lot,my favorite type are standard midweight cruisers, such as Kawasaki Vulcan EN500, Suzuki Savage, Honda Shadow 600 and 750, HD Sportster and similar bikes, they have the comfort and long distance highway riding capabilities of big cruisers, while still being small and light enough to be practical for city riding.
My Vulcan cries in magma tears hearing you say these words
I just want to get a chopper in order to say "GET TO THE CHOPPAH" every time I go for a ride.
Thats a perfect reason to get one!
I got no hair, cant fit into skinny jeans and ride a triumph bobber black 😂
I think he confused bobbers and cafe racers.
You sound very very familiar. Like someone I took my MSF with. Hmmm....
Im with ya
That Honda Fury turned out to be the best commuter scooter I ever had. Over 10K miles a year. Comfortable and rideable. Short range though. Looking for a 2 up cruiser now but keeping the Fury
I love my cruiser! 14 Honda Valkyrie. I live in Houston and really enjoy riding in the Austin area.
Half of Yam's audience: "Who the hell is Peter Fonda? Did he ride against Rossi back in the 90s?"
A bit of history:
The term "Chopper" originated after WW2 when returning GI's bought war surplus bikes and stripped everything unessential to gain cheap performance.

Futt Yuu, Spite! Little bit of love from a Vulcan rider.

Wr all can dream cant we?
I got my first bike 2 years ago. it was a 05 Honda Shadow 750. A year later I got a 07 Honda VTX 1300. Im a 230 pound, 35 year old male But if you are doing research on what bike to get check out Srkcycles. I watched a lot of his videos. Check out Fortnine for gear reviews and MCrider for motorcycle training. I hope to see you on the road.
Cruisers are just cooler than other motorcycles
No.
It’s funny cause all squids have the same bike. And look the same built like toothpicks soo I knew I wouldn’t fit it in. So I got a 2020 low rider s.
Thats a Big cap boss 😂
It's a matter of perspective.
my parents: you’ll wanna get a car with lots of protection and safety features...
me: it’s motorcycle time baby
Now that feeling
To be fair, a 5000 dollar motorcycle is far more reliable than a 5000 dollar car. If you're gonna get a first vehicle. ;)
Too funny! Great sense of humor makes for an enjoyable watch. Thanks for the vid.
Spite!! The dyna bro/club style look is not to slam the rear end but jack it up and have a 2 into 1 not short shots...you’re thinking of the wide glides.
The best cruiser motorcycle is my first motorcycle: 84 Kawasaki KZ650 CSR. Like riding a couch on the highway, with an inline 4 that pulled hard.
Just started a job at Harley Davidson, one of my responsibilities is detailing the motorcycles. Number 2 is dead on correct, I’ve seen every one of those things on many bikes. I’m a Harley boy, but jeez some of us need to calm down
You busted me. I am a hipster on a bobber. 🤦♂️
I’m saving up for a triumph bobber and this video cut me pretty deep

Hello my Cruiser bro!
I picked my first bike up recently. I got a 2015 yamaha vstar 950. And I absolutely love it.
So funny I actually just saw a chopper for sale on classifieds for EXACTLY $40k with a tag line “one of a kind”
I don't think most cruiser guys are looking for quick and efficient fun; they are looking for a bike that has "character." As it relates to a cruiser, I have found that "character" generally means "no redeeming quality, but I still like it for reasons I can't explain."
Personally, I agree with you on the Vulcan S; good looking, quick, and low cost of operation.
You also compared it to a shadow which is even slower than a Harley so....
@@guppyitsallgood I'm with you on the Vulcan S headlight being a distinct negative, and also with you on disliking the headlamp on a street triple.
Got me a sportster 48 1200 2 months ago. Little on the bigger side I think considering it's my first bike but I took a seat on it and knee it was mine.. thanks for all the advice yammi 🤙 definitely found MY bike in a sea of squid missiles and sport tourers
You got to the chopper part and I smiled.... You pulled up the Honda Fury and I smiled harder cause I have one in the same color!
Main problem with choppers with excesive long telescopic system is that when you turn they massively modify the geometry of the vehicle, a centered hub steering will be ideal here cause it won't modify the geometry when turning at extreme levels unlike the telescopic system
I'm loving my fxdwg Dyna wide glide. With the Corbin seat and forward controls it fits me like a glove❤❤❤
This video is brilliant! 😂 the comments are great too, he’s so on point with the descriptions. Come on people, can’t take a joke
What about an Honda Shadow Phantom 750... I would love to see a video on that bike... Thumbs-up for your video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Have a great rest of your day 👍🏾

I'm a muscle, chopper, and bobber guy - I currently own Fury and Diavel, and recently looking at Indian Scott Bobber, which might replaces the Diavel, the Fury is so pretty to let go!
Sturges looks like a blast I would love to go one day
Kind of, imagine trying to jam a quarter of LA I a small barn house that is Sturgis. It’s literally a small blip on I-90 that’s thousands come to every year. It’s definitely a culture though. I lived here my whole life too lol
It's ok you don't like the Vulcan S. Nobody's perfect
Not very knowledgeable, is it an Indian scout?
@@CharlesVanexX yea that's what he is referring to. Its a amazing bike for what it is
@@rohinhans7819 I've been looking at em for a while now. I like those, and the dynas, not sure which one to go for yet.
There's also the rat bike and the swedish chopper, although the last one is probably under custom chopper.
As a Dyna bro I can say the meta is tall rear shocks and 2into1 exhaust 😂
The Bobber Boi description hit me hahaha!!! 🤣🤣🤣
What "kind" of Sportster is that @ :10 - :12 seconds? I absolutely love the way it looks. When I search "Harley Davidson Sportster" on Google, I can't find one that looks like it.
What's wrong with a Kawasaki vulcan s 2020? Please tell me
Each piece of chrome add 1 H.P. , so always replace in pairs.
I have an Indian Chief. Does it go fast ? pretty fast , but the death wobble is scary.
Does it turn well ? - nope
Does it cruise well ? - You betcha
Is it pretty?
How about stock/factory vs. customized cruisers?
Secondly, maybe I missed it, but since when have choppers been cruisers?
I didn't get a Rockform, because a case for my Note 9 was not in stock, when I was shopping. The GUB Bicycle & Motorcycle Phone Mount I got instead has served me well, through many miles, holding any case I have.
I am surprised that you did not have at least one Moto Gusi or a BMW in the bagger group. These are two wonderful bikes that travel well and have good power to handle any type of situation.
Ur pretty good YammyNoob,BUT seeing a certain group do some good music gonna + 60 %
more power to the rear tire? what kind of gas additive R U putting in ur coffee?
I've been riding dirt bikes for the last 20 years and I'm finally getting something for the street. Do you think a fat 650lb cruiser is too much to start developing street skills on?
Naw, super common for dirt bike kids to move to cruisers.
At least on the west coast haha almost everyone that I rode with when we were kids has a dyna now
@@caseyjones6316 How do they like the dynas?
Brandon them dyna boys love their dynas haha they are fun though pretty Torquey the early 2000’s ones with the 88” motor have a shorter wheelbase so they’re easier to wheelie but they’re all pretty fun
@@caseyjones6316 Haha well shit. May be time huh?
What bike is that pictured @02:39 when he says, “if was going to buy a cruiser, this would be it right here.”?
I'm not a cruiser guy, but will admit that the allure of muscle cruisers and the Indian Scout are the exceptions to the rule. Nothing better than having your arms torn off as you rocket up into light speed. I feel the 2014/2015 Honda Valkyrie is the sweet spot. Performs like a muscle cruiser but retains the neutral Goldwing ergonomics, which is my general beef with cruisers. (No, one's feet should never be in front of their knees, ever!!) Honda needs to make more modern Valkyries off the updated Goldwing.
Indian scout bobber 🤤
They're expensive because they are paying to advertise in videos like this.
Nicely done Spite!
Well, most Club style bikes got a 2-1 exhaust, because of the clearance
I just love my VulcanS and enjoy riding way too much. :) Great bike and also my first.
2:27 what bike is this sorry idk much about bikes
just rode a harley fat bob. first time ever riding a harley.
The thunder header two into one exhaust is the standard club style exhaust, not the short shots
It’s almost like telling me you’re biased by not saying you’re biased. Lol this guy is hilarious.

when you mentioned muscle bikes should have mentioned the vrod and the vtx 1800 and the vulcan 2000.

When you said Muscle Cruiser I thought for sure the Yamaha V Max or Suzuki M109 had to be what was shown. Far as a Harley maybe a V-Rod.

My first MSF course had a guy doing it on the Honda V Twin Chopper dude barely passed due to the wheel width making the figure 8 in a box.
What is wrong with the Vulcan S ...?
Best cruiser style is bagger. I’d say performance bagger but that usually consists of a ridiculous punched out engine like the 131 which I just don’t think is worth the money. Just put it into suspension. The 107 and 114 have plenty of power with pipes and a tune for a back road. I hate when someone asks me how many cc? Then when I say 1800.. they’re like “oh that must be fast?” Yea fast enough to get beat by every gt car on the market. Just have fun from 0-80 after that just buy liter bike or adv bike. The cruiser market has nothing for ya.
Listening to you to describe the bagger, made me immediately think of my pops. Described him to a T
