Aren't those nifty hairdryers great! Good for many things, like drying wet motorcycle gear after a storm, taking off bike stickers and unsightly reflectors, and drying hair too! I immediately remove these things before leaving the dealership.
I have also been changing the batteries to lithium saving around seven pounds. This then gives greater cranking amps and a brighter spark from what I have read. I can put the lithium battery that I use in my Guzzi in my pocket--so light and small.
    Beautiful bike--enjoy it!

Hi Richard, stuff to use is CT1 for adhesive residue, silicon, tar etc. etc. Great stuff, use it all the time at work to remove adhesive residue from double sided tape etc in the hospital where I work from all sorts of painted and plastic surfaces. Cheers, Sky.

Never heard of CT1 Sky. Had a look on eBay and sure enough, there are a few things that CT1 offer. This stuff looks really good. Ironically, I have to tackle the bathroom sealant in the near future. I shall order some of this and give it a go. Thanks for the tip 👍

I hadn't really thought about taking my stickers off until I saw your video. I have a 2023 Tiger 850 sport and decided to have a go yesterday. To my surprise they peeled off straight away with no problems and no sticky residue. UK built Triumphs might be using different kinds of stickers 🤔

That is interesting BigApple. Thanks for the comment. I assume you are in a similar temperate zone as the uk and as such will have gone through cycles of cold and hot. Mine really were rock hard and only exposed to the elements for 6 months 😬😆

Eucalyptus oil. Pure. It dissolves all adhesives without affecting paint, enamels or plastics. Let it sit for 10 or 20 seconds.

    Hi
Just subscribed to your channel and saw you trying to remove the glue from your fuel tank, the best way to remove the glue is by spraying Mr sheen on the glue and using your finger just to pat it a little bit don't leave it too long and use the cloth to remove the glue you may have to do it a couple times, depending on how strong the glue is, but it definitely works, because I am a car valeter and somebody taught me that trade secret, the best thing to do is one sticker area at a time and keep using clean clth as the glue will build up on the cloth otherwise you are rerubbing the glue back on hope this is of some use to you and for maybe future problems with glue and that counts for anything that has had stickers on and left the glue deposits, it just makes life so much easier.
Anyway look forward to seeing your next video
    Pete

Hi Pete, Mr Sheen. Loks like I am going to have to do a sticky removal video 😆. Mr Sheen being the fourth product recommendation. So, I suspect if yo are in the valet game, you know what you are talking about 👍. A video where Mr Sheen is the first, then CT1, Goo Gone, and alchohol. See which one wins 👍😆

The Carpuride is great. Keeps the phone safe in my pocket - but to be fair, the kind of riding i do does not include a massive amount of traffic lights where opportunists may want to grab the phone from the quad lock. Use whilst riding is better on the Carpuride than with the phone however, to be fair, if I need to change something, I tend to prefer to stop and do adjustments etc.

For any kind of glue marks. Use petrol. But remember too do the after touch up asap cause it takes off the gloss too.

Good Be Gone works pretty good here in the States. I am hoping when I pick up my Scrambler the stickers come off leaving less residue as my Speedmaster did.
I love your red but waiting on a Red Tiger 900 . I actually like all the colors of the 400X

Hi Tim. I know I have bought the bike. And the bike is mine. And I have a vested interest to be satisfied that the bike is good. And i don't want to convince myself that I have made a mistake. BUT! Based on the 40BHP, she is a great bike. Only problem is the gearing is too low for my sort of riding. So, I now have a 15 tooth front sprocket in hand. Later this week, I shall encourage the missus to change the sprocket whilst I lie down on the sofa and enjoy a bit of RUclips. 😆 - in my dreams 😆. Of course I will be changing the sprocket myself whilst the missus makes a cup of coffee 😆👍

Interesting video Richard, that Carpuride is certainly bigger than my TomTom satnav. The first job when i got home with my 400X was removing the stickers , they pulled straight off and i cleaned off the sticky residue with a little White spirit on a cloth. I have also fitted a Speedo Angels screen protector to protect the screen a tenner off Ebay and fitted the Powerbronze Mud deflector on the tail light hanger along with a Triumph front fender extender to keep down the dirt somewhat.
Next up will be the 15 tooth gearbox sprocket, happy days.

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  Месяц назад

Hi Gordon, I was thinking of white spirit but I tought it might be a bit harsh on the laquer. Maybe I am being a bit paranoid 😆. I don't have years of experience of goo removal 😆. Yes, next think to order is the fender extender. I bought one of eBay may montha ago for the Tiger 900 - which cost I think £6 and was extra long and was from China so had to wait a few weeks for delivery. It was brilliant. Not the sexiest look but practically, was the best extender i ever bought. The 400 needs one (and i have just now ordered one!!!). Powerbronze mud deflector - I never thought of that. What a great idea. I shall think about that and do something about it. Thanks for that idea. i'll look into the screen protector - now, the plastic on the screen, now you have mentioned it, is a bit thin/soft. Not like the screen on the Tiger 900 etc. So, before i go screw the screen cover up, over the passage of time, I think i shall put a protector over it. Can't do any harm.👍

@@gordonyoung3668 Hi Gordon, I am no expert too. I thought the scrubbing (and it was scrubbing) with WD40 felt a bit wrong. However, once removed and a polish done, it would appear the laquer was not damaged. But I am no expert on this matter 😆

We have a product here in the U.S. called goo-gone that is formulated to take that sticky residue off. Would have been interesting to actually see if it would. The Carpuride system looks interesting. It looks to be a descent unit although I have no experience with it. Bike looks really sharp. Cheers!!

Hey Larry, Goo Gone - just found it on amazon UK. £12. That's reasonable. That's two things I need to order (CT1 being the other product) and do some testing. Another video and removing sticky stuff. Carpuride works really well. It's a nice simple thing that just emulates the phone but on a bigger screen. I suppose if you loike to control your music in the helmet and need navigation on a regular basis, it's a good product. I need to do more testing 😆

terpentine, mild enough for the clearcoat and good enough for the glue….does nit harm palstics either, if you are afraid use oil….and clean the mess it causes, but the glue gies off…DON.T USE ANY NAIL POLISH REMOVER OR NITRO…DW 40 should worl, but possibly nit giod for rubber parts! mostly old formulas are harsh on rubber when you use an old can of Wad 40 !

I think you are going to like the Carpuride Nicholas. If you can attach to a usb then you have the power on and off from the ignition hopefully. Failing that, use the power switch on the Carpuride to turn on off. I have tested the Carpuride on the 400 over the past days to ensure in the off position, the Carpuride does not draw current from the battery. And it would appear, it does not. So hopefully no fear of a flat battery when directly connected to the battery. Just a thought. It is great that two power lines come with the Carpuride, helps ever so much if you have two bikes 👍
