Fantasmic is called "mik" not mike or mice or michael. So awesome Wishmaster album song from hardly 20 years old Tuomas and Tarja + bandmembers. Yes Jukka is killing the drums and at this time Emppu did powerful guitar sections in these songs...later other elements took the major role. In song "Crownless" guitar really goes. My favorite albums are still Oceanborn and this. People debate what is "real" NW music - for me it is this.

yay! old gems of the good old nightwish, recommend you Pharaoh Sails to Orion from Oceanborn (or the live version from wishes to eternity) and Passion and the Opera from the same album (the most operatic voice of Tarja), or most old yet Angel Fall First (beautiful ballad) from their first and experimental album

There's grandeur in these older Nightwish songs. I sort of like it that we can see how they've grown over the decades as musicians and Tuomas specifically as a songwriter, but it's also bittersweet that this type of feeling can only exist in the distant past now. In the Making of Endless Forms Most Beautiful documentary Tuomas mentions that he missed these types of guitar vs synth battle sequences, which he brought back in Shudder Before the Beautiful. Just from this one song you can pick up a few ideas here and there that Tuomas definitely recycled for Shudder.
on 6:08 starts my favorite part of this song. gives me chills every time.

They manage to maintain a "metal that flows", with the lyrical, operatic part, along with the speed, brutality and weight of Metal. It has a powerful and strong sound. You addict listening to Nightwish!!
This synth is very power metal. If you want that more, check the band Stratovarius who inspired Tuomas a lot in the early stages.
Their song Stratofortress is a master in that synthosphere. It's like listening the cembalo of Bach - just like it's here.
A slow masterpiece of Stratovarius is the song Coming Home.

That "sound on the keyboard" is a real, and very old, classical instrument. It's very similar to a piano, and it's called a Harpsichord. Look it up. Very cool imstrument. Man....SOMEthing about the openimg vocals just FLOORS me. It is SO up my alley. Gets me banging every time.

It's one of those songs that will never be played live again because it is too difficult to sing it and lowering the key would screw it.
They never played the full one live anyway. Pretty sure Floor would manage and Troy would love this one.... 😉
There are nightwish songs that should only be sung by tarja as there are others that suit floors voice
If you've seen floor sung high key on the outtro of Phantom of The Opera but still utter that bullshit of 'never played live again because its too difficult to sing', you're ignorant. A live concert is only performed around 2 hours. That is too short for Nightwish to perform all songs they have created in their career.
@@samsuyarjafar9966 i know flor can sing hogh notes but this one requires a fulll operatic voice. Floor would belt it. Also, this song fits Tarja's voice because it matches perfectly with her dark and "heavy" voice.
@@Honken55 i believe floor can do it but not as high as tarja sings it. It's difficult to keep it that high using the operatic voice. Also, tarja heavy and dark voice fits the song perfectly

There was nothing Queen Floor could do about it. She was involved in the recording of the first Prison of Desire album.
I love Floor but I don't think this would work with her voice. Wishmaster doesn't.
