Can I install a Luftkappe with this? On Rockshox forks no. On Luftkappe-compatible Fox forks it's physically possible but it will not perform well. Use the stock air piston with the Secus instead.
Hi, i have a rockshox pike 140mm with luftkappe. I notice it dives deeper into its travel(almost bottom out) , is it ok to use bottomless tokens then or? What would you recommend...with more air it gets little stiffer sort of...
Hi Raymond, yes its ok to use tokens the luftkappe acts as one so you can use up to one less than the maximum number your fork allows (4 for 27.5 forks and 5 for 29") only use more air if your sag is not correct or you'll affect the travel.
If you feel you need luftkappe on your Fox, look into DVO. The OTT adjustment they are equipped with is awesome.
Great explainer. Great tip. Thanks Jed.
i have a smash spot. it rides nice, but I really prefer the progressivity of an air fork. Coil also weighs a bunch. both on the uphill and down.
Just ordered one. So hopefully this review is good:)
Awesome, please post a comment how you find it 👍
1 A highly recommend. Big improvement that you can feel right away.
@@florihupf what model/year of fork?
Also love the German names. :)
Have you tried the Secus yet? Would you still want to fit a Luftkappe if you had the Secus?

I have a rockshox pike 160mm and the fork is a bit nervous in the mid portion. Would you add volume spacers with this as well?
Yes you can still add volume spacers the luftkappe acts as one, so can add upto 3 more spacers if needed.
@@jedmtb Thanks Jed, they are installing it now. Can´t wait to try it tomorrow.

@@jedmtb ok thanks for the info, just to know i have a 27,5 fork 😉👍🏻
What fork oil is that in the background?
Motorex Racing Fork Oil
@@jedmtb Just doing my Pikes and i need something. I feel like 5w30 is doing me no favours...
@@kinamod2k I've had good results with Motorex 5w in Rockshox forks, if you get some make sure you get the 3D Response Technology version.
Just use ohlins forks and they're perfect from new
Apart from the massive recall they had last year 😜 only joking, you're correct they are very good forks 👍
Literally zero reasons to get Ohlins over RS or Fox. Sorry but these guys are race proven and way easier to warranty in America than Ohlins.
