Beloved Daughter's Suspicious Death Leaves Family Devastated | The New Detectives | Real Responders

- In most crime cases, the killer is known to the victim. In Columbus, Ohio, a woman is found shot in the head in an apparent suicide. But the family testimonies of the victim do not reflect a suicidal individual and soon detectives suspect foul play. Elsewhere, a teacher suddenly falls ill with a mysterious condition. Paralysed from the neck down, she uses her eyes to help detectives with their investigation.
The New Detectives is a documentary true crime show that features reenactments of events surrounding a murder and follows police departments as they solve cases using forensic science.

Donna recovered from paralysis and after a while she remarried.
Now known as Donna Kholer she is a motivational speaker. I think she still teaches 7th grade children.
Thanks to a nurse hearing a conversation James 'Jim' Boley had on the phone, she informed police.
He's serving 2x 25 year life sentences in prison.
Good!
It amazes me that women remarry after going through an experience like that, almost death. Mine was just 2 punches after I found him with women, but I moved to another continent, raised kids, and no guys!! My ex pursued me afterwards for 43 years until he died last year.
Women in abusive marriages need to understand that they should not inform their husband of wanting a divorce. By doing so, she greatly increases the odds of their murder. Leave the marriage for protection, then file for divorce.
Leave the House, not marriage!!! However, wives and even husbands have been killed many times after leaving homes!!
@@user-ec2yw5ep9w Juat be an introvert like me and do not marry.
Never ever tell an abuser that you are leaving them never
When they mentioned he brought her favorite milkshake,I knew it was her husband.
No brainer, Captain Obvious.
I thought the same thing , whatta ah f--ng Loser , her Husband
Chronic numbess, long term malaise, I've watched enough of these to think "heavy metal poisoning", which, apparently, was all the murderous rage in the 80's 90's, apparently. In other news, I watch too damn many crume shows :)

No one would use arsenic for suicide. Most if not all suicides are not looking for the most painful prolonged agonizing death.
At least not in small, ongoing dosages!
I can't see a teacher committing suicide in front of her students either
@@tracycottrell5146 Arsenic takes a lot of time to work, you're talking days rather than hours. But that is why people don't use it for suicide.
As soon as I heard arsenic, I was hoping someone on staff would’ve noticed the milkshake her husband brought to her!
Yes, you'd think so!
Yes!
Jesus, why can't people just get a divorce? No killing needed!
They would have to share all the marital assets. Once the other spouse is gone all the assets rightfully become the surviving spouse's. It's greed.
@@lilyfelinski5520Absolutely, greed to the max!
GREED. More than likely a Demon 😈 Rat 🐀

Tell me you've been through family Court without telling me you've been through family court. 😂😶
He thought it was unusual that a drunk husband would turn the light on when his wife was trying to sleep 😂😂
How clueless is this detective. “I asked her a bunch of questions about how this could have happened … I ran out of questions and was leaving when she became frantic … she then spelled out Jim.” Jesus Christ! Shouldn’t that have been the FIRST question he asked? 🤦♂️
he said he'd asked if she thought the poisoning happened at home and she said no, she probably didn't realize/couldn't accept the idea it was her husband poisoning her when he first started questioning her
Before you come to conclusions, check your own brain, and attention deficit! Do not blame him, LISTEN AGAIN… your cogito is soup, not sum! My ancestor Rene Descartes was intelligent, and would have listened to Tony well.
Detectives and forensic scientists doing their job.
She was sleeping with her worst enemy 😒
What a LIAR😂😂😂😂
Never understood asking the parents if their child was depressed, of course they’re going to say no!
Not every time.
@@amethyst1826 Only you know what you’re going through, more than everyone else.
I don’t think the symptoms were non-specific…they were very specific to heavy metal poisoning. And who would be crazy enough to commit suicide by arsenic poisoning?
Why would they immediately say your wife said you did it. Especially if they already had a suspicious.
She had already spelled his name!
I can't understand why the doctors didn't immediately take the shakes her husband gave her when arsenic was diagnosed..
EACH TIME THE INVESTIGATORS REALLY DONE THEIR JOBS, IF ONLY ALL WERE LIKE THEM.
Why you yelling?
@@MrJames-tw3soI’m tryna decipher what she’s tryna say so I feel you 😂😂😂😂
@@lucinainyene4107 Shes not making sense and were being yelled at too.
What a evil man how you can kill your wife just like nothing
If he turned the light on while his wife was in bed sleeping. He did so out of anger. You dont turn the light on when your wife , girlfriend is sleeping. ! Thats been my experience.
But,if they are asleep, the light going on shouldn’t wake them.Sometimes it’s needed,by the one switching it on.
@@eh-i1841 lol yah dude I guess all my girlfriends and wife were extremely susceptible to light! If you walk into a dark bedroom with a bed and a sleeping adult. If you turn the light on. That will cause the person to wake up. It's just science mostly.
I've been married twice. If either if my hubbies had popped up with: honey I want do the cooking to make it easier on you ?!?! My Praying Mantis antenna would have been on high alert. And this story would have a much different ending.
Was Donna ever able to walk and talk again?
Yes. NowDonna Kholer, and in her 60s, she remarried and is a motivational speaker and, as far as I can discern, still teaches 7th grade children.
He got 2 life sentences, thanks to a nurse overhearing him on the phone and informing police of her suspicions.
Self administered? Unless you're a deeply disturbed individual, and they would know that, no one is going to go out by putting themselves in excruciating pain. Has there ever been a case of someone killing themselves this way? It really is ludicrous. I hope the constant emphasis on suicide was for dramatic purposes.
I thought they would have checked for GSR on Robert & his wife
When I saw the husband walk in with the drink, I knew who it was. I watch too many of these things. lol
Me too lol
I was wondering how a murderer could have his last name anonymous til the end I looked at the form with Aeh. Oh, Aeh.😂
I am soooo glad that I am not married.
I refuse to be a dirty joke for a man.
Why do they let his and bring milkshake in??..
Here we have a psycologist who was out psicologied for scorts who might don't even know what psicology means 😂
Spouses be aware of:
Your partner chang in behavior like: I will prepare your food. Say no or you take the first bite and the first sif.
Beware of finances
Find out if your partner sees you as an investment (keep an eye on insurance policies)
Sleep with an eye open (but this is not life so get out of that relation before is too late)

Plot twist: his name is actually Jimbo Lee
James 'Jim' Boley.
No music, please!!! Great video though 😊
I realized that this was uploaded from TV as it contained ads within the video, the regular new detectives didn’t have the noise.
@@user-ec2yw5ep9w yeah I think I got a message from the creator saying the recent videos don’t have it.
No it's always the monster husband
Poor women!
2nd case, did they truly overlook for fingerprints on the gun, being that he didn't wear rubber gloves? sheesh
Sometimes these coroners jump to conclusion for the cause of death. The blood splatter says it all. Great work by detectives and other officials. This was getting justice to Janet.
The New Detectives is the best! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
They should have had a policeman station by her bed in plain clothes, so that when Jim came to visit his wife with a drink in his hand they could wait and watch him give her the drink. But before she drank it then they would take the drink from her and have it tested. That would have saved them a lot of time
Is fingerprint was not used then for analysis
So sorry but can you rephrase your comment I can not work out what you are asking ❤
Fuzzy muffins kitten bonnet is fluffle boops
His fingerprint was not used for analysis, then?
I think is what @AzimKhan-sd3us was asking!
@@elenalydon-tuomey7755 I think he means "Did they not check for fingerprints on the gun?" I would guess that he wiped his of an put her hand around it, but that isn't actually shown on the recreation. It also seems the cops were a bit dim if they couldn't see that wasn't suicide, so anything is possible.
His fingerprint was not used then for anal, sis?
How can you kill a loved one. If you grow tired of then get a divorce and leave.
I never drink anything my wife brings me and I always prepare my own food 32 years and I’m still ok, just saying.
Always suspect the husband/wife, family.
Now, arsenic can be removed from the body through dialysis! QUOTE: "We studied the clearance of arsenic by hemodialysis in two patients with acute sodium arsenite intoxication and acute renal failure. Blood arsenic concentration fell considerably with dialysis. The dialysance of arsenic ranged between 76 and 87 mL/min. Total arsenic removal by 4 h of hemodialysis exceeded its 24 hr urinary excretion while renal function was impaired. With improvement of renal function, urinary arsenic excretion increased remarkably and dialysis treatments were discontinued. Based on these result, hemodialysis is a useful adjunct in the treatment of acute arsenic poisoning with concomitant renal failure.
Flippin adverts, it's getting as bad as tv!!!
WOW Ty for being her voice
At 25:20, I'm pretty sure the commentator mis-spoke.
At the beginning, we learned that she had in her body hundred times the NATURAL dose (the one we all have). Then, the analysis of the hairs showed that this dose increased drastically, month after month, until it reached the *_LETHAL_* dose, on this fateful day she collapsed at work. OK. That's perfectly clear.
Now _(at __25:20__, which certainly marks the return to the program, after the TV commercial break)_ the voice says she had *420 TIMES the lethal dose*.
No way ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It must have been 420x the NORMAL dose... thus more or less 1x the lethal one.
Thumb up if you noticed it too ? ... 😊

Good wife bad husband. Husband not thinking that their children w/o mom nor dad .
Goodness, these are almost 30-year-old cases! Don't they have anything more recent?
If you don't want to watch these, scroll on!!
This series was on tv in the 90s and early 2000s, its an old show🤷♀️
What about searching immediatly her home and her "beloved" husband ?
Instead they talk to the potential perpetrator and give him the time to act and clear all .
Instead of stopping his visits ,ehat about catching him in the act ans arresting him o the spot?
It would have been soooooo easy.
And when smn feels reallly bad should better have some investigations just in case.
She had found a residu in the milk glass and was not a bit curious to find out what it was ??????
A math teacher ????????
All of this is unbelievable 🤦♀️🤦♀️ 🙄
Robert Aah, was a loser and an evil husband. He was also a cheater having an affair with another woman.
Poor Janet, she couldn’t travel where she was going and her business trip was out of the question because of her diabolical husband who murdered her. Janet was going to file for divorce; she should have done it before going on a business trip knowing Robert had a violent temper.
Women know when things are bad and how bad the husband is; they should gather their personal stuff, move out and then file for divorce without telling the husband. Let him find out when he receives the papers……but “thinking about“ doing it doesn’t solve the situation nor the existing problems.
Rest in Peace always, Janet 🙏💐
How did Donna’s student present were effected and deal with all of it?
😮😮😮😮😮😮
How diabolical a human mind just what lengths could it have possibly taken for a human being to get to such a point?? No excuses are plausible enough to ever justify any of these murderers. It is a known fact if Jesus Christ is not the King of Kings in a person's heart they will be capable of ANYTHING 🙏
