I would like to say something.
While I was excited and motivated, I was a bit scared to embark on this journey again... in the back of my mind was the fear of a complete failure.
But I worked so hard since April, and despite not playing for 2 years, and being the lowest ranked player in this tournament... I finished in 2nd place, and almost won.
I am more motivated than ever to work as hard as I can to keep gaining elo and keep chasing norms.
I will re-cross my peak for 2421. And I will become a GM in as many months and years as it will take.
See you for the next episode of Road to GM.

Levy we are all so proud of you. It’s funny how you can feel so much for someone you’re only watching one-way online. We’re so grateful you’ve allowed yourself to be this vulnerable online and put yourself out there - showing your prep work, weaknesses, losses so plainly, and then showing how you needed a few days to recover, and then coming back up on your feet again. I love this Road to GM series so much and I am so happy to hear you’re motivated and have 8 tournaments coming up. I cannot wait to watch your recaps! And also so glad that the wider chess community and all the GMs you’ve covered so much before now ‘returning the favour’ and rooting for you. We know you will get there but just be patient and don’t be too hard on yourself along the way and remember to have fun :) Looking forward!!!

also, he actually managed to do something impressive: two years ago he would randomly implode midway through some games by playing completely braindead or have a nervous breakdown. He hasnt really done that in this tournament. Yes there were a few moves that could be classified as mistakes but none were "immideatly lost" kind of destructive - and even Magnus Carlsen makes onemoveblunders every now and then so not playing perfect chess is perfectly fine, given the fact that probably less than 1% of all his viewers can even hope to draw him

Well done Levy. You made your opponent earn the draw, performed very well, and gained rating. You'll be better prepared and rested at your next tournament (you're right about AirBnBs btw), and won't have the 'ring rust' from not competing in 2 years. Thank you for sharing your journey and teaching us along the way.

      That’s ok
He came within striking distance, if he’d won round 8 which was a winnable game, he presumably would’ve gotten it
This tournament was a great result for him
