“The SEC champ” was playing like a meddling Big 10 team in week 2. Teams evolve. The Raiders beating the Chiefs on Christmas last year was not a big deal. The Chiefs weren’t good then
Their schedule can put them in it. They should remain pretty healthy throughout the season. Biggest bruises will be from Georgia, OU, and A&M. Only one of those games is a late season game. If they are as good as everyone is saying they are, they should have a good shot. I went to A&M, so I take no pleasure in saying this.

You are so right about the state pride in Oklahomans. Everything here just ties together so nicely. Our chaotic weather is one thing, but it’s home. We love our college football, our OKC Thunder, our good ass food (shout out fried onion burgers), and the people here are mostly good people at heart. If Georgia beats Ole Miss, that would need to be Ole Miss’s only loss and Georgia lose twice to other schools for Ole Miss to have tiebreakers over Georgia. The same is true for Texas. So, Georgia maybe loses to Texas and Alabama, beats Georgia, Ole Miss goes 11-1 with their only loss to Georgia, and Texas Beats Georgia and loses up to one other game (or a mirror of that where Texas is 11-1)? I just want to be clear on what has to happen.
I haven’t heard many in the CFB domain question Texas’ defense for this upcoming year. I keep hearing they’re going to be able to win the SEC and natty, but no one had addressed how bad their secondary was last year and how they’re missing 2 key components in their D Line. I’m an ole Miss fan but played with Miami in college football 25 on dynasty. Now I finally understand one of the biggest flaws Josh talked about the expanded playoffs. I played Florida state three times and I beat them by double digits until the playoff game and I lost. Beating a team three times is gonna be tough

I first heard of something along these lines in my youth when Andre Dawson chose to play his last years of baseball in Chicago because of the grass turf at Wrigley Field. This spring, I heard the Kelce’s speak about it on their New Heights podcast. We’re now hearing about it from KU players because they get to play at arrowhead. Some have bemoaned not having games on campus, and I agree with you and others that campus games are part of what makes cfb great, but I think arrowhead is an advantage for KU players this fall. Tbs, wondering if it makes a difference in recruiting.

It’s arguably 1 of 3 games Texas could lose. If they are remotely as good as everyone is thinking they are, they should roll through the other games. Arkansas, Kentucky, Vandy, Florida, and Miss State don’t scream of being threats. OU has to go on the road to Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, and Mizzu. They also have Alabama on their schedule. OU has a considerably harder schedule than Texas.

Don’t forget the Vols far as good running teams this year. Heupels offense thrives off the run, their O line is VERY experienced except for Heard (he is a sophomore but was a 5 start when he went to LSU) and they have Cam Seldon and Dylan Sampson to carry it along with Nico being good on his feet!

Love that you made some distinction between strength of roster and strength of schedule. I would suggest to you that OSU and ISU both have harder schedules (8&10) than the other Big12 contenders. Only WVU (14) has a tougher schedule amongst contenders. Toughness of schedule determined by adding the place in the preseason ranking of the opponents on each schedule. Highest score is easiest. That’s KU, Arizona, kstate, Utah easiest to tougher. Btw, Colorado has the toughest, though PT will be roasted by the “you are what your record says you are” crowd.
Gave you my reasoning but forgot my prediction: KU vs kstate I don’t believe the Arizona hype. They kept their two best players but portaling was a net loss on top of the coaching change. Tbs, week 3 is a huge nonconference barometer for the “wildcats”.
Why did you leave out the Big 12 runner up? Iowa State, K State, Texas Tech and many other Big 12 teams have harder strength of schedule than Miami, the ACC runner up, Notre Dame and Penn State who are making it instead?
Texas A&M and Missouri have the easiest schedules in the SEC. Might be worth a few bucks on futures for both to win the conf with the slate UGA has. Tennessee could also come out of there if Nico lives up to the hype.

I have always had the belief that a conference title loss shouldn’t count on your resume. You get hurt because you were good enough to play an extra game against an elite team and lost. I think 2022 USC should have been in the playoff
What if will Howard is worse than mccord? Is ohio state's defense good enough to carry them past oregon (away), penn state (away), and Michigan? last year with mccord and an elite defense (2nd best in the country), they barely beat ND (took the final play against 10 defenders), struggled against psu and Rutgers, and lost to michigan.
As a Georgia fan/alum I have to agree with Roman. At worst the UGA OL and DL will be stalemate against anyone, comes down to O coordinator in my mind. Dawgs should be in the mix all the way to the end, just have to wait and see. Ole Miss makes the champ game if UGA loses twice and one of those losses is to Ole Miss.
Texas has literally zero secondary dude. They will give up 35+ to every great offense assuming the opponent doesn’t go conservative in the second half because they’re up so much. And all or most of those linemen are gone. How will they get pressure on Carson Beck? Or they make the playoff just to get lit up by DG and Oregon’s receivers

It’s arguably 1 of 3 games Texas could lose. If they are remotely as good as everyone is thinking they are, they should roll through the other games. Arkansas, Kentucky, Vandy, Florida, and Miss State don’t scream of being threats.
OU has to go on the road to Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, and Mizzu. They also have Alabama on their schedule.
OU has a considerably harder schedule than Texas.

If TX would have won the natty last year, all you would have hear is “they didn’t beat OU”. Herman finally got a 10 win season and everyone was behind the guy……except he lost to OU and guess what happened to him? Could not agree more with you on the issues with the score. The dread and ominous music every time a tornado was approaching/forming in the first movie was so scary (Bob’s Road), but in this one, it felt like I was watching a “Beef, It’s What’s for Dinner” commercial.

Don’t forget the Vols far as good running teams this year. Heupels offense thrives off the run, their O line is VERY experienced except for Heard (he is a sophomore but was a 5 start when he went to LSU) and they have Cam Seldon and Dylan Sampson to carry it along with Nico being good on his feet!

I would suggest to you that OSU and ISU both have harder schedules (8&10) than the other Big12 contenders. Only WVU (14) has a tougher schedule amongst contenders.
Toughness of schedule determined by adding the place in the preseason ranking of the opponents on each schedule. Highest score is easiest. That’s KU, Arizona, kstate, Utah easiest to tougher. Btw, Colorado has the toughest, though PT will be roasted by the “you are what your record says you are” crowd.

I don’t believe the Arizona hype. They kept their two best players but portaling was a net loss on top of the coaching change. Tbs, week 3 is a huge nonconference barometer for the “wildcats”.
Why did you leave out the Big 12 runner up? Iowa State, K State, Texas Tech and many other Big 12 teams have harder strength of schedule than Miami, the ACC runner up, Notre Dame and Penn State who are making it instead?
Texas A&M and Missouri have the easiest schedules in the SEC. Might be worth a few bucks on futures for both to win the conf with the slate UGA has. Tennessee could also come out of there if Nico lives up to the hype.

I have always had the belief that a conference title loss shouldn’t count on your resume. You get hurt because you were good enough to play an extra game against an elite team and lost. I think 2022 USC should have been in the playoff

last year with mccord and an elite defense (2nd best in the country), they barely beat ND (took the final play against 10 defenders), struggled against psu and Rutgers, and lost to michigan.
As a Georgia fan/alum I have to agree with Roman. At worst the UGA OL and DL will be stalemate against anyone, comes down to O coordinator in my mind. Dawgs should be in the mix all the way to the end, just have to wait and see. Ole Miss makes the champ game if UGA loses twice and one of those losses is to Ole Miss.
Texas has literally zero secondary dude. They will give up 35+ to every great offense assuming the opponent doesn’t go conservative in the second half because they’re up so much. And all or most of those linemen are gone. How will they get pressure on Carson Beck? Or they make the playoff just to get lit up by DG and Oregon’s receivers
