  • Thanks for stopping by Blind Girl Vlogs.
I'm often asked how guide dogs know where they are going and so I put this video together.
This is applicable to guide dogs from any and all guide dog schools. It's a partnership... a life changing partnership.
My guide dog is a UK guide dog. Find out more about them at guidedogs.org.uk

Hi I’m always. being asked how my guide dog knows where it’s going or how does she know which bus or train to get on. I strongly believe that more education is needed for the public to have a better understanding. Great video. Xx

I definitely agree with you. There needs to be wider education about Guide Dogs and what they do and how they help. Thanks for the comment, it always puts a smile on my face. Hope you are keeping well. XX

Great video and really informative. The sound quality on this is outstanding, with the bass on Shaun really adding to the experience.
With you taking the producer credit on this, I was wondering if you can answer this. What does a producer do? The stock answer from my DJ friends is 'not a lot'.

Where does your DJ friend work? As someone who has worked in national media for 21 years, I’m fairly confident in saying they’re probably being a bit on generous or maybe they don’t work in mainstream media?
In radio terms a producer is one thing and it can depend, in television it’s totally different and there is no comparison between a radio producer and a TV producer really.
A producer director is someone who is in charge of a total project and as everything from scripting to storyboarding, to a paper edit to directing the edit.
In commercial national radio, producers would generally do running orders, book guests, do transmission reports, contributor care, studio manage, output edit and deal with the compliance such as Ofcom.
In television terms it depends if they’re planning producer who for instance plans segments, a segment producer who deals exclusively with a certain time frame, a package producer who does total news reports along with the correspondent Or for instance a documentary producer who might do quite a lot of investigative work, sourcing contributors, looking after music and legal rights issues, dealing with copyright, dealing with compliance, dealing with editorial policy, dealing with lawyers and so forth.
Is probably a boring answer, but a producer does a heck of a lot that maybe your friend doesn’t know about?
I’m really proud of Siobhan’s work on this one though and we really appreciate you always supporting it.

Hi Steve, wow where to begin. Firstly I think I must say thank you for the nice note. Producing and directing this case involved music rights clearances, securing licenses and checking any restrictions in the international market, working out the best frame rates for the effect we were trying to achieve and I chose 25 by the way, working out the sound sample rate and we went for 4800 and recorded it 32-bit float. We then drew up a storyboard with time codes and a rough guide track which we changed in the field. I then directed the shorts that we were after and supervise the edit. On the day, I made sure that we followed the storyboard and gave vocal delivery in the way that I was ideally looking for as well as making sure that we followed a particular time sequence so that the tentacle sync device would work with a field recorder and Lumix. Insure, because this is only the start of it, there is rather a lot involved in producing. What sort of thing does your DJ friends do?

@@BlindGirlVlogs wow, that's so much more than I was expecting. I'm nowhere near able to do a video as good as that.
My DJ friend used to be on lbc and now lives in Slovakia.
