How did me and Guy dog Marty do on our first independent travel to the office?
Yes, they have been a thing for over a decade. However unless you happened to find an audio described video, you would never know. Hopefully you had some help to carefully cut open the plastic, so as not to cut too deep
Roxy and Randi liked the duck toys too. Marty, what an awesome companion. His lovely furriness.
Hello quackers Love your Christmas tree
So glad to see him looking so well xx
Nice job Marty ❤❤❤
Such a great Crooner Marty ❤❤❤
Feeling the Christmas spirit.. aw Marty :)
This is pure discrimination.
Hard to watch as I myself lost suddenly hearing in one ear while eating breakfast and it took me about two years to get over it. I can't even imagine what you went through. All the best.
Bless your heart. That must have been incredibly difficult for you to go through. Anything sudden is hard to deal with. I hope you are doing okay now. Thank you for your lovely comment. Take care.
Aw sweet boy! I hope he is feeling great!
He was so cute and seemed really excited. I’ve thought about doing obstacle courses before with my guide but didn’t know if it might end up getting in the way when we’re working together like you know being a source of confusion for her since I’ve been having her go over and threw things that would I was guiding I wanted to stop or take me around.
Smiles. I think the difference is Marty wasn't on harness, he was running and being guided by the dog trainer so it's a totally different environment if that makes sense. I definitely hear where you are coming from though. :-). This is Marty's playtime if that makes sense. X
Go Marty! Good to see tou doing well🐾🐾
His tail wagging the whole time, very happy and eager to please.
Fine them by law it's an offence to refuse
These dogs are so smart

Hi, it's Elizabeth from California USA nice meeting you
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your comment. Welcome and it's nice to meet you too. I hope you are well.
I came across your video accidentally while I was looking at a video comparing white canes. I felt your emotion Siobhan and I couldn’t stop my tears as I listened to you. I’m legally blind but not completely blind. I used to work as a midwife but at this stage, I can still work as a mental health nurse with limitations. When you talked about being bullied about your blindness I sobbed. I have been getting bullied by a male co-worker about my blindness and hearing your emotion when you spoke about being bullied made me feel like I have an ally that truly understands the impact of this kind of bullying. I have been refusing shifts and isolating in my safe place… my bedroom. I know I have to change my behaviour as I can’t just keep hiding from the world so I want to thank you for sharing your message of hope. Sending you love and thanks. Donna from Australia 💗🌸🍃
Wow, thank you so much for your lovely message. I am truly sorry to hear that you are experiencing bullying in the workplace. That breaks my heart because I know all too well the devastating impact bullying can have, not just on your mental health, but on your physical well-being too. It’s painful, exhausting, and it can make you feel isolated in ways that words can’t fully capture. If you haven’t done so already, I really encourage you to reach out to someone within your workplace who can offer you the support you deserve. You don’t have to face this alone, and there are people who can help advocate for you. I’m also more than happy to exchange details or be there for you in any way that might help-whatever support you need, I’m here. Please keep holding on to your inner strength. Just from reading your words, I can tell you have a resilient and powerful spirit. It shines through even in the toughest of times. Keep fighting, my friend-you are worth so much more than the way they’re treating you. You have an incredible light, and no one should be allowed to dim it. Stay strong. Xx
What I really like with the guide dog is staying independent, and with my guide dog it makes things easier for me along with the white cane. How has your experience been with the guide dog and the white cane?
White Cane Day is very special for us because not only do we use it frequently, but it also becomes our guide. We do many activities for that day.
That question is totally unnecessary and unkind people like that are past educating why would you even ask that sort of question? I’ve been blind all my life I live a very happy and independent life along with my beautiful Guide dog. do I wish I could see no I do not.
As one who is not impaired in my vision, I find the question offensive as well. All one has to do is watch a few of your videos to understand that your countenance does not portray a terrible life at all. Obviously it is admirable the way you have coped with this loss. But it is quite obvious that this impairment did not spell the end of your life.
I was told. I wouldnt wish blindness on my worst enemy!
Oh my goodness. Like being blind is some awful curse. I hope you are doing well my friend.
Had one of my uncles tell me that he would have offed himself if he went I am blind and autistic same uncle who asked if autism could be fixed I am not broken I am not a doll or vase that was dropped. I think you are so right that education about being disabled and learning to thrive
I have had Epilepsy ( to my awareness ) I have had it since birth . I was not diagnosed until age 12 , In my case I helped - or suspected my own diagnosis .... The intern was sooooo pissed off m because I had actually been living with the effects ..... as compared to going to school to learn about it - As it turned - out : I have both Major as well as the minor Seizures ...... My last major one was 1/1/2012 ..... I am very thankful for having the ONE MED that does the trick for me ................... and - yes ... at one time I was very depressed to the point , I did think of Suicide .... I also deal with Anxiety , and other emotional issues .
I think everyone can adapt to what they are dealt.. blindness, being deaf, etc. All are worthy of a wonderful life. Some of the best lived lives are of those with different abilities. ❤
We all should be able to do things if you are blind or not ❤
God bless this young lady and give her strength and peace
Bless your heart. Thank you for your lovely message. Take care and God bless.
Just a little feedback: You face started out perfectly centered in the picture but due the 9:43 duration the camera curiously panned up and over to your left. Also I find it interesting that you have "visual" ornaments in your home: pictures. why does a blind "girl" have pictures on the wall? I don't mean to be unkind in any way...I just find it curious. I live in the United States in the Wild West of Utah...but I have been to Dublin. My late wife and I enjoyed the "green island" immensely when we were there in 2013. Can't make a recommendation, particularly, but we loved Ireland.
I'm now going to be using dictation, so apologies for any graphical or dictation errors. Always appreciate your comment. I did actually hold the camera as steady as I could in my hand for the entirety of the video so I must have just accidentally slightly moved towards the end of the video. My arm was beginning to ache. In terms of visual pictures, although I can't see them, I know my friends and family really enjoy them and It's something that I've always maintained is that I live in a very visual world so want to maintain visual elements to my home. Smile. Dublin is amazing and I'm so looking forward to getting back. Thank you again for your comments
🍌
Sending all best wishes to Marty. Hope you have a great trip in Ireland and congratulation on your new role
Thanks for the update. We lost our Randi Shephard mix in 2016, a year later, Roxy Black Lab. Both 16+. Not a day goes by I don't think of them, they were buddies. Molly, we got her at 12, and left us at 15+. You have to feel they are in a better place you know. Positive vibes to Marty, have fun on the trip. Congrat's with the BF! Awesome.
Bananas! 🍌Congratulations on your new role- you are perfect for it. ❤ Sending love and prayers for Marty as well! I hope he will be better in no time. Hugs! Also lots of love for Mac! ♡
Is that Newbridge in County Kildare? As far as I can tell it's just a small town, maybe there's a pub there where you can hear some music, but there's a big lake (Poulaphouca) about ten miles away which your folks might be able to take you to. Newbridge is a stone's throw from Dublin (40 mins by train).
I'm sorry about Marty, I hope you get answers soon and he starts feeling better. I wish customer support services were just as good for other charities/organizations!
Oh S! So sorry about Marty. Praying he will be OK soon. X
❤️🐾🐾
My name is Diego and I am from Colombia. I am a permanent follower of your videos. I am totally blind and I use a white cane a lot, as well as my guide dog, Bruno.
Smart boy 🎉❤😊
So sweet ❤🐾
So happy for you both to be able to visit each other!! 💕
Awwwww❤❤❤
🥰 so sweet
That is such a good and genuine visit with your old buddy. Fantastic.
Awww ❤❤❤
Smiles. Yes, he is very sweet. I just wanted a short video to capture, him, bless his heart. X
Aw he's gorgeous. Fifteen is a good age 💛
He's a wonderful boy and he has had such an amazing retirement. I don't live close by which is why I don't sadly get the opportunity to see him regularly. I visited him two years ago to the day. I really do hope I get another chance to see him but I'm not sure I will. I hope you are keeping well.
@@BlindGirlVlogs I hope you get to see him again soon too. I hope your are well and enjoyed the pleasure beach! I haven't been in a long time
How many guide dogs have you had up till now?
@@LittleWeaselGirl Thank you so much for your lovely message. Am currently working with my third guide dog. My first Guide Dogs name was Liza, and my second guide dog is called Mac, and my third guide dog is Marty.
@@fox_6174 Smiles. Yes, he really is adorable and he is doing so well. Bless his heart. I love the pleasure beach and I must say I'm a sucker for all of the fast rides.
Actually your prosthetics are quite stunning. I am a blue-eyed person,...the only one in my family of six (incl. parents)...so my Mom (aka Mum) dressed me in blue from an early age and as a little boy always emphasized that "feature" by dressing me in lots of blue things...not because I was a boy but because my eyes were blue. Well, the closeups of your prosthetics look better than the real thing. The artist that painted your eyes really got it right...or maybe better than right. Anyhow, good choice.
Siobhan, I certainly admire your sincerity and openness and total honesty in this story. You helped those of us who are sighted to understand your world and your feelings in a very quiet way...like two people having a conversation and me listening (intently) to your story.. AND you did this at the very beginning of the pandemic. I think all of us were wondering "what next" at that time.. I imagine those feelings of uncertainty were somewhat amplified in your situation. You are now firmly in control of your "new normal" but this video does an excellent job of telling us how the heartache of that transition felt. I certainly would not apologize for the content or the manner of presentation. It is one of the most "real" and authentic stories I have ever encountered on RUclips. Thank you.
Was there no cure before u went blind from it
No, sadly not. Thank you for your message and I hope you are well.
@@BlindGirlVlogshow to u type when u r blind
@@caitlinzebradownie6626 I either use VoiceOver to Siri dictate or a Bluetooth keyboard. :-). :-). I hope you're having a lovely day.
I was researching prosthetic eyes and discovered your piece on making the decision to remove your eyes. I don't have that problem, myself, but I do study how various people deal with adversity. I have had two wives that have died and often get asked to talk on that kind of adversity, so I have branched out to people with disabilities who also go through grieving and deal with different kinds of adversity...but there is a common thread. With 641 videos you are certainly caught up in producing visual material...which is a little ironic. Anyhow, thank you for sharing your journey into vulnerability with the rest of us.
Thank you for your kind response.
