    I have watched 25 or 30 of your videos. They are very informative videos and allow me to see what the competition is doing...and a Birdseye view of the door and window industry. I just started with a premium door and window company, after being in the music industry for over 30 years. Your videos are very well done and informative. Thank you for your insight and knowledge. Our company specialize in Iron scroll and very contemporary steel doors and windows (primarily in the South East) Your videos are great (and casual). Thanks again!

    I have to laugh at that Topo Chico Jeff. The handful of times I've been to Mexico, the one thing everyone says is, "don't drink the water". So what do they do? Bottle it up, send it to the US and people buy it like crazy. Gotta love it! I've been binge watching your videos and have learned a lot and they are just great to watch. You're a natural. I'm working with Calvin on my window replacements so it looks like your videos made you another sale. I hope to meet you some day and if I do, I'll have a good bottle of Cab Sav for you.

    This is great. I live in MA. I wish I lived in Houston so I could use you guys. Your videos have been superful in deciding between Pella and Andersons.
    I am interested in impact-resistant windows for my first floor. Do you know how those would perform with a bat or brick? (I live in one of the top 100 safest towns in the US, I am just paranoid)
    I am being told these are hard to impossible to source to MA, including an alternative of hurricane-resistant windows since we are not a hurricane-prone area. Is this true?
    I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!

      Thank you for watching. You should be able to order any window or door with an upgraded glass package that includes lamination. Cardinal Glass calls it KeepSafe glass.
      Let me know what you find out!

      @@HoustonWindowExperts wait! I was hoping for more advice. Do y’all foam wrap? Should I choose the guy who foam wraps over the guy who doesn’t?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 года назад +2

      Gotcha. I like to inject the foam once the window is installed. Foam wrap does not do nearly anything compares to injection foam.
      Check out some videos on WinTeq.
      Foam wrap is better than no foam wrap, for sure.

    tad laking explanation on why the heat causes that tension.
    i was taught its due to heat dilation. as in it dilates as it gets hot. and when its cooled quickly, the surface shrinks while the insides are still molten hot.
    and as the insides start to cool down they too shrink, but its no longer molten so its attached to the surface thats already cool and done its shrinking.
    so that causes the tension on the surface.
    tl;dr: heat dilation
    also, im surprised you managed to break it just with a softball and baseball, mans got a good arm.
    a while back we had this 2,5m * 2m panel (around 8 * 6 feet) of 6mm toughened glass (~1/4 inch)
    cant cut it so we were going to just throw it away in trash, the size of it makes it sortof heavy so we thought wed be lazy, break it.
    a collegue picked up a hammer and threw it at the panel. the panel didnt break, the hammer ricochets off it and flies to the opposing wall, and gets stuck in the drywall on its hook side.
    (quick dig the hammer out, fold the lil piece back sortof inplace and carry some junk to lean in front of the spot ^^) *whistle* nothing to see here
    not a scra

    Wow! If the tempured window is smaller would it still be this strong? We have a DBL 2452 Windsor that we are just realizing will be about even with the bottom of a stairway landing.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 года назад +1

      It likely would. Tempered glass is four times stronger than non tempered glass.

    Apparently compression PSI is a lot different than actual static PSI, because a softball hitting that is MUCH less than 15,000 PSI.

    Great video as always! I’m in the search of the best window for the money my friend and I have watch all your videos by now, but it’s hard to choose one brand without knowing the prices. I have a budget for 5 windows at my house but I’m also a person that if it cost me a little more money to get a better product I will spend the extra dollars to do it. What windows will you consider have that attribute of costing a little more than the others but that you get a better product for your money? I will really appreciate your help and if you know a good company or installer in the Tulsa Oklahoma area let me know please! Have a good day guys! 👋😎
