The clothing wringer reminds me of my grandmother’s manual washing machine function. There was a handle on the side. So after the clothes were finished being agitated in the washer you had to use the wringer to remove the excess water. Then she would hang the wash outside to dry on a clothes line by securing them with clothes pins.
They are called Mangles, used loads at the beginning of the first industrial revolution. They are also very dangerous, if you consider that they remove water by compressing the fabric under a lot of pressure and that humans have a lot of water in them.

It took 9 hours to scrap down and cleanup a 30' x 80' ceiling, the nastiest, messiest one day job I have ever done. The bar closed at 2 am and the three of us finished just after 11 am when the bar opened.
I like the paper towel trick best because that's one I could actually use myself. 😊 The mosquito wasn't satisfying because the mosquito wasn't smashed at the end. 😂

1:56 - This is called a wringer (or a mangler). This is the electric version. They used to have to hand crank them before they had electricity.
