Plasti Dipped Chevy Emblems

- In this video I Plasti dip my front chrome bumper and Chevy bowties (front and rear). I love the look and the process was easy.
The takeaways:
• Warm the can up for a more even spray pattern.
• Lay it on thick but not to think on the edges.
• A razor blade can go through 2 pieces of blue painter tape with ease.
• Protect from overspray.
• Heat gun helped with the curing process.
• Plasti dip is easy to remove and try again if you mess up. I messed up twice.
• I didn’t show the bumper getting done because it would have made the video way longer.
• I used 1 and half cans of black Plasti Dip.

• Heat gun
• Plasti Dip - two cans
• Porter Cable Drill - Amazon
• Drill bits - 13/64in and 7/32in
• MATCC Car Clay Bar 2Pack - Don’t use, it was hard to work with.
• Dawn soap water
• 50 Pack - SimpleHouseware Microfiber Cleaning Cloth - Amazon
• Razor blades
• Blue Hawk Painters Tape - Lowes - Any blue painters’ tape will work.
• Dropcloth 9'X12' 2mil - Amazon
• I found loose nuts and bolts in my parts bin
I took my front bowtie off with a pocket flat head screw driver, or a trim tool
Looks good
Tape the edges of the emblem next time it’ll be less work afterwards

Wait.. what? Why would you spray your paint? Just tape the edges
It literally peels off so no need to go and tape the edges
So does it just wash off ur paint?

No it peels up but you have a certain time frame to do it before it adheres to the car
No need to do all that cleaning. Wipe it with alcohol or brake cleaner and spray.
Put the can in hot water. Get on the dip your car website and follow the instructions. Did my Cadillac 4 years ago and it’s smooth as paint.
