Exactly what I was looking for even the same roll of 3m vinyl thank you for not rambling about your dog getting married and your ex girlfriend getting ran over...
Dude! I watched someone plasti dip their emblems but this method looks so much cleaner and almost OEM. I am definitely doing this to my Chevy truck! Thanx for the video!
Straight forward and to the point. Thank you. I have a blacked-out Silverado. I think some chrome wrap vinyl on the bowties will tie in really nicely with the chrome accents on the headlights.
Loove this. So many people are saying oh you can by decals and stuff on the internet blah blah blah. Personally I love the extra work and the look of "I made this". All and all. Nice work dude...
Nice..i bought a little can of rustoleum and used my kids water color pain brush and finished front and back in under 10 min..its been 2 years still looks mint..plus paint will last many years
Vinyl is faster no masking and very minimal prep, takes less than 10 min if you know what your doing, and last way longer , I’ve had both and plasti dip requires minimal of 3 coats , vinyl is one layer and you don’t have to wait for it to dry.
So much better! Apparently they started with that cheezy gold filling in 2000. Opinion: Nothing says tacky like fake gold. Hope someday someone at Chevy sees how many videos there are with owners going to the effort to change it and gets the message. It doesn't look so great in their ads, either.
"Chevy" HAS seen that people like the black bowties better - but GREED has set in and they now charge $295 to have a black bowtie put on the front and back - TWO HUNDRED NINETY FIVE DOLLARS to make it look just like the ones in this video !!! Thanks, J R Vlogs for showing us how to save $295 !!!
@@chadmark88 All the companies have their logos and markings locked up with copyright and trademarks so no-one legally make them aftermarket without licen$ing and you wind up stuck having to go OEM. I'll bet the stock bowtie isn't cheap, either.
Thanks for showing this! It came out great! I just did mine as you showed and they look awesome! The factory ones are stupid expensive, this is a great alternative.
@Alexx Yes ! It stays on perfect. I have had it on my 2018 for 5 years now . Trading the truck for a '24 GMC next week , and will be looking to black out the GMC emblems
Looks good. Too bad my emblems are on the paint..... No way am I comfortable w/razor blading around Audi rings - will have to go plasti-dip. Prefer your way though as the material looks more durable
@@KathleenBellDreamingofDIY Do it! I get compliments on them, especially if I go to the Chevy dealer! I'm thinking about how to do the tiny bow ties that are on the rims. And the one on the steering wheel. !!!
Have the same textured type embossed emblems (apparently some come smooth). How’d you get the vinyl to stick to both edges? Because there’s a two tiny indentations, one near the silver and the second is where the textured emblem goes smooth? I can’t get the vinyl to stick to that park
Joneshia did you try using the heat gun while pushing down with your credit card or whatever you’re using to push the vinyl down? That’s what I had to do on mine. Took awhile but finally stuck.
Did you ever get to trying it? I just bought the same stuff, iron on vinyl from circut. Trying to do my badges so wish me luck and let me know if you have any luck:)
I have friends who have done it. If you run through a car wash once a week, his lasted a year with 3M film. Another friend only hand washes his, and still going strong. They did at the same time. Hope that helps.
Looks good. Thanks for the video. I'm gonna do mine with carbon fiber vinyl and a red outline. Probably gonna paint the whole thing red and then do the vinyl.
Charles Provance did you do yours yet in the black and red? Was actually thinking about doing the same thing! Just curious how yours turned out and if you liked it. Ordered my carbon fiber vinyl and waiting for it to come in the mail

You’re a monster. That marriage must be celebrated.
😂😂😂😂😂 that shit was funny
Ex-girlfriend getting ran over is crazy. 😂😂😂
Short and to the point.... thank you. So many videos have so much extra that you do not need. This was spot on.....

Holy crap! I can’t believe this cost so much at the dealership!
Thanks I’ll never pay for this again.
*This is really nice, looks 100% better my friend*
Plasti dip works better, faster & no cutting required. Just peel away for a perfect edge.
Less material waste too
Doesnt it come off?
@@dmf2990 Nope. Mine has been on for 5 years and through many car washes.
@@dmf2990 If you apply it correctly you won't have any peeling

More people probably don't change it and just leave it alone
Finely as of 2019 no huge bow ties in the front and back of the Silverado’s

just ordered the same wrap bcause this video. preciate it man
Definitely will be doing this. Going to do mine in Chevy blue.
im trying to do a black trim package on my 2008 silverado and was preparing to pay 50 bucks for new emblems, this is gonna save me some serious money
My daughter did this for my Christmas present and so far it is holding up great!!!
I used an old toothbrush to get down in the edges to get the dirt loose and then used a card to get down in there.
So like will you put a link in the description to the wrap that you used? I'm definitely doing this!
Think he is using vvivid lil wraps for emblems
AWESOME JOB
Great video no music
How long does it last on there before you have to redo it. Especially if you take your vehicle through the car wash.
Thanks for the video, it's very helpful. Have a quick question, instead of using a heat gun would a hair dryer be suffice?
Yes most definitely
Where did you buy the black film?
Amazon its just black vinyl wrap
This helped my husband alot. Thanks!
Wow, totally impressed, you did an excellent job and it looks like the factory. Many thumbs up👍👍👍. Thanks for sharing from Nova Scotia
Nicely done. Takes some patience, I’m sure, but I’ll be doing this soon.
How well does that hold up in car washes?? Severe weather?
It's permanent vinyl. Holds up great.
Appreciate the video. How did this wrap hold up overtime?
Looks really nice
Great job nice info
Link for that specific vinyl please
Awesome video! I hope it works on my truck!
Nice job, thank. I do this looks nice.
More power and God Bless, Thank you for this video.
How durable is it? With washing, highway driving etc?
Did you use heat transfer vinyl or sticker vinyl?
Looks clean 🔥
I had my doubts, nice!
Cool vid dude
Thanks for showing this!
It came out great!

Nice job, well done. You have any ideas if a 2006 Silverado LT size front grill bow tie is same size as a 2018?
I think they are relatively the same I have raped and older 2005 one and it was actually easier that the newer ones
Can some please answer me this question!! How does it hold up in the long run? After washing it and different weather conditions?
nice job thank you for the up load
Nice. Clean. Will do. Thank you!
Nicely done
I bought the front & back OEM black bowtie emblems, so much nicer than vinyl
Professional, the best apresentation
X-CELL-LANT JOB
It looks better gold.
Please give us the amazon link of the vynil.
Well done. Thank you.
What the Chevy bow tie texture? If so, How did you get it not to see the texture?
Thank you for a great video. I just received my gloss orange vinyl and I can't wait to do this to my two emblems.
I'm hoping to put orange vinyl on my orange Trailblazer's bow ties!

How long did it hold up? Or it’s still going strong ?
Held up for about a year then I took it off to change the color of it I ended up wrapping it white as of now
JR VLOGS Thank you man !!!!
No problem
can you leave a link to the wrap you bought?
The wrap I bought isn’t on amazon anymore for some reason but if you go on amazon and look up matte black car wrap and some should pop up!
How long has this last for you? Has it gotten messed up?
Hey, where did you get the material?
Thank you 😊.. it's was great help
You can buy pre made pre fit stickets off ebay for cheap
Nice
Amazing incredible 10/10
Great video thanks man
I want to know if doing this, whenever you wash the car it’s not going away?
Dude that credit card tip !
Does this work with red? I want red bowties for my black Equinox.
Make sure you use your AutoZone card- You wife's Costco or Macy's card will not cut it...
No quema cuhhh 🇲🇽😂
A foot by 5 feet? Umm let me guess, you tell your friends that you're packing a 8 incher?
Would glossy permanent cricket vinyl work?
Yep!
I just tried it and the gold shows around the sides. It's shit
Dude you rock
thanks
So if they were black, you would change them to gold, use your time more wisely
Do I need a heat gun? Or can I get away with a hair dryer?
Easier as well.
Do they make the vinyl in gloss black?
Nice dog!
Can you do this with a Toyota badge

@@HiiiGHLIFE1 I am guessing he is using thinner vinyl? I use VViViD vinyl wrap and was having trouble getting it to stretch inside those grooves too.
Plastic Dip works better!!...And last longer!
Hyper dip works better than plasti dip. It's similar to spray vinyl. Still pealable And more durable. Does not feel like rubber To the touch.
@@hd758510 ~ Did you use hyperdip on your bow tie? I have a can just haven’t done it yet... curious if you covered the chrome also?
What wrap did you use
Thanks!!
Will a hairdryer work in place of the heat gun?
How to remove the black sticker if we want to switch back to Original Gold ??
Just peels off.
Hey man what about the rain or water? Does affect?
No if you prep the surface good enough and make sure all the corners adhere properly than you will be fine
Nice!
What’s the material and where did you buy it?
Vinyl and he said Amazon.
I don’t want any chrome showing gonna trey todo the whole bow tie
That’s a great idea! Try to hide the fact you’re a Chevy driver.
Ha must drive a broke down Ford
car u use a blow dryer ?
Yes that would work!
I'm gonna try a mate black on the whole bowtie
Could I use my Cricut vinyl?
I’m sure long as the adhesive is good idk why you can’t

How does it look now, being two years old? Any issues?
Yea after about a year and a half it starts peaking but I just redid it
What!? Yes!!!!
Do you think it will be easy to do all the chrome badges ? Or just easier to de badge and put the black ones ?
Do not use peel and stick for all emblems. Plastic up is your best way to go.
Great Vid, 👍👍👍👍
