I did exactly the same and put the mesh on a SMP Diver 300, and later sold it along with my NTTD. Not only transformed the look of the SMP, but enhanced the comfort level in wearing as was extremely lightweight. This look is also extremely versatile as you can wear it as both a casual and formal timepiece. Some time in the future I will invest again in Omega + mesh bracelet.
Hi Doug! Just received it! I love it very much. Somehow the whole watch was given a cleaner, more subtle look. This bracelet elevates the watch, no question.
Looks phenomenal on the mesh Doug. I've been ruminating this exact combination myself... But then of course they teased the no date so now I have to sit and wait some more!
If I could have this as a No Date, I would prefer it. Having said that, when they release that watch it may take some time to acquire whereas this “almost No Date-looking dated watch” is available now and with discount. 😁
Been following some of your videos-santos and Seamaster. Thinking of getting the white dial Seamaster and LOVE the mesh bracelet look. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it’s a gorgeous watch, especially on that strap. Thinking about waiting a couple months to see what may come from the unreleased Daniel Craig sighting at the Olympics. If that variation makes it to production, it might be something to consider. I love a no date dial, but looks like it would loose the polished ceramic… just some trade offs to consider Enjoy yours!
Daniel was in Paris, wearing a no-date non-ceramic bezel black dial SMP, yet to be announced. Rumor has it it will be end of this month, fingers crossed. Cheers.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Hi Joseph, I am happy you enjoyed it! I do like the standard bracelet, but it is a bit too chunky for me. I wish it was a little more thin ... then it would be perfect! Wishing you a great day!
I have the standard metal bracelet on my black SMP and really like it. I have the mesh on my Bond 60th Anniversary and struggling with it. The clasp area is way too chunky for any sort of office/ keyboard work. Also, the mesh bracelet bends in all the wrong places, especially where the holes are it’s stiff and doesn’t bend. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, end up with too much room side to side and no room from caseback to clasp. Strongly recommended people try it as it doesn’t fit everyone.
I have the SMP 300 originally on the standard steel bracelet, but that seems outdated to me. Got the OEM Rubber, which ist fantastic, especially around water. The new milanaise could be the strap i was waiting for so long - just ordered it.
Wow I have the same watch on rubber which I love,I’m ordering the mesh it transforms the watch and I think looks better and more expensive than the Rolex.great video
Hey, I have the mesh proplof bracelet. The clasp is seatbelt style and is much smaller and thinner. It does not have those solid ends the spring bar slides through the mesh giving the smp 300 a tool vibe rather than dressy vibe. FYI Spring bars also fit. I purchased mine with the original bracelet.
Looks okay with the black. I do think the SMP300s size looks too big on straps vs the thicker OE bracelet though. Looks about right with the non tapering bracelet although a lot don't like that option it seems. Still comfortable, just heavier than the Sub.
Hey Doug, Nice video mate. Just want to say, I know you are more of a Rolex guy but I think this Omega actually stands tall and is better than the Starbucks. Both aesthetically and mechanically with a movement as good as the Rolex.
Hey Galaga (BRW, my fav video game as a kid!), I have to agree, the SMP is spectacular head to head with the Submariner. And a downright bargain at half the price!
Nice. My SMP set is actually a set of 4 preowned "sword hands" versions from the 2000s (steel, titanium, blue, black). Wish they would bring back the sword hands ! Plus 2 5513 Subs from the 1960s.
Wow I did not know the standard size was less as I only see this band for $800 on the Omega website. I would assume the band was purchased at an Omega boutique? Like you, I went rubber strap, but looking to add this strap. Great vid thanks!
Thanks so much for your comment and I’m glad my video helped. Yes, the standard mesh is $682 (sorry, I said $685 on video). And yes, in ordered it through my AD (not boutique) and it took about two weeks for it to be delivered. Please let me know if you get it and your thoughts. 😊👍
@@knowledge3275 I am glad to hear that they supply the springbars directly from Omega. I ordered mine through my AD and the springbars were not included.
I did. Part of the reason I got rid of my blue was the bracelet. Then I felt bad about letting go the SMP (as I love the watch). So, when I saw Omega offered the mesh, I repurchased. Funny, this is my third SMP - first white, then blue, now black.
Great bracelette. Thinking about to buy this for my SMP as well.😊 But for me it's a little bit overpriced for not having a micro adjustment unfortunately... Btw: which music is playing in the background. Sounds great and relaxing.😊
The background song is “Dreaming” by Helios. The bracelet is expensive - of course all Omega OEM parts are (NATOs, bracelets, leather straps, etc) - but it really is to notch quality. I believe Staib makes some very similar quality mesh bracelets but at a better price.
Hey Watch Papa, I have enjoyed your videos … recently just watched your Mark XX 😊👍 I do wear my watches a bit tighter, but have not had issues with hot spots or discomfort with the mesh.
I’ve tried everything on this watch and currently happy with rubber but really considering the mesh seeing how amazing it looks here. Can you tell me how much it weighs? Also will the OEM deployment for the AT work with this strap?
This is awesome. Do you know if there’s a short version? I have a 6.2” wrist and my white Seamaster 300 is currently on the Omega NATO strap. I will email my boutique. I’ve always thought this bracelet was over $1k for some reason.
Unfortunately, I do not know for sure if they offer a shorter version - but I would bet they do. I purchased mine through my AD and it took about 2 weeks for them to get it for me. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!
@@DougsPerspective thanks for the quick reply. This has been my summer watch since the NATO strap doesn’t fit under many long sleeve shirts. I know it gets bashed on for being too thick and the helium escape valve but I love it like you do!
How is the OEM rubber strap? Do you have a video on it? I’ve tried my SMP on the original steel bracelet (too bulky imo) and a tropic style (ok but not great). I’m wondering if Omega’s oem rubber strap is worth the money.
Youre selling me on buying one of these and throwing this bracelet on!! Got me wanting to copycat!! I might do this with a white one.. I really love the sea master EXCEPT for the factory OEM bracelt.. that bracelet and clasp are so unattractive.. but this mesh bracelet totally transforms the watch

I thought that too when I saw videos and pictures of it. But now that I have it and can compare … it is actually about the same thickness as the rubber strap with tang. It’s really not bad at all on wrist. 😁👍
The mesh is not a standard option for the date ceramic SMP. But, if you buy the SMP on rubber it is $300 less than bracelet version and then buy this Omega mesh (which is superb quality) for $685 more and you have an SMP with both rubber and mesh for $385 more than standard SS bracelet.
Hi James, actually I don’t notice it at all when wearing. Interestingly, I compared it to the rubber strap and both were almost identical in thickness.
5:37 due to the 3 layers of metal, the bracelet on your outer wrist seems “loose”. I know it is not loose, but just visually. Perhaps do a comparison video, mesh vs rubber?
