Yes! These Pastors/Elders need to read their Bibles!! Open the churches! Keeping them closed is doing nothing for the cause the Christ! Lord have mercy.
Praise God, there are still pastors today who are ready and willing to suffer to care for their people. True examples of the power of Christ lived out is so rare. I am blessed and challenged as a father (which was also mentioned). A shepherd sacrifices for his sheep.

Necessary words. If you are STILL convicted of obeying Romans 13, when WILL you start to question that obedience? When does obedience to the rest of God's word kick in? I think the "cloud of witnesses" is rejoicing over Pastor James Coates. May we all obey God whole-heartedly and bravely, as he is.
Such a powerful and important sermon! I think for many of us Christians in Canada, we are severely spiritually malnourished because there are so very few really Biblical churches anymore. There are lots of church buildings full of lots of people - some of them even Christian. But we've been spiritually starved for years; decades, even. So when the lockdowns came, it hasn't seemed like a big deal to just do "online church" for most people. There's so little difference between what they were doing before and what they are doing now, right? But for a small remnant of us, we were already aware of these problems, and are seeing them even more clearly now than before. The Lord is judging our churches. May He use these terribly dark times to sanctify His bride and bring glory to His name!

I live in Red Deer Alberta. About 5 years ago I personally visited the majority of 'churches' in the city. My message was simple. The Christian community needs to collectively get outside the walls of the church and BE the 'lamp on a stand' in our own city. I was met with annoyed impatience and polite indifference. I was shocked and saddened by the utter lack of faith in Jesus and the great commission. Fast forward to 2021. I am sadly not surprised by the vast majority of 'churches' being spiritually dead today. I would suggest now is the time for faithful Christians to gather at those churches that we now know are true God honoring, Jesus praising, Bible teaching churches.
Great sermon. I agree wholeheartedly. We are blessed to be in a church that closed for the first couple weeks and have been open ever since. They will not shut down unless we are barred from going in. The powers that be have been harassing us, but we continue to press into Christ. More than ever we need to be a body that prays together, lays hands on the sick, feeds the hungry, talks to the broken, and worships the King of Kings in community. God is moving in our church, in the lives of the people, how many can say that they are growing in Christ via zoom? I've felt the Holy Spirit like never before. I'll keep standing for Christ till He takes me home.
Be encouraged my brothers. I stand and pray with you. We serve Christ Jesus, the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords!! These troubles are temporary brothers. One day "EVERY" knee will bow to Christ the great King!!

I have a friend who was asked to leave her church because of the questions she was asking.
Since the church is on zoom now, does Jesus come back on zoom, too? They're acting like it.
It is interesting to note that the word for gathering in Hebrews 10:25, translated as "meet together" in some translations, is the same as that used in 2 Thessalonians 2:1 - "concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him" - which most certainly isn't going to happen on Zoom......
They are also the ONLY TWO OCCASIONS when that word is used in the New Testament.
It's sad that I haft to go to another city to go to church it's been 17 months and the churches hear in LA are still closed.

All Christians in churches with men without chests in pulpits should stop giving tithes and instead use the tithe to evangelize. Those churches who stop services but yet still expect their congregation to tithe deserve to close in my humble opinion.
No. The Bible says to tithe, and we tithe to GOD not to the church. We tithe out of obedience to God, not because of obedience to the church. Those churches has mortgages and utilities to pay. In Canada we have winter. We can't allow pipes to freeze. It is not the church that expects the tithe. It is God who commands it. That is not the answer.

There is a strong spell and delusion over the world and they used tv to suggest it to us.
The church in Asia - the east, is underground and unlike the church in the west, is not looking for recognition by secular government authorities to benefit from the tax exemptions and charitable organization structure. In the west, we still cling to being recognized and straddle with profitability and membership by partnering with the government. We want our cake and eat it too. If we resist looking and listening to what the Lord is saying about looking East, we will be in for a rude awakening. The church in the East, though underground and unregistered, is a model of where we, in the western church are looking with admiration, but we still straddle the fence. Persecution is intensifying. Choose this day Whom you will serve, even if it means going to the catacombs where the early church met to avoid the authorities of that day.

I learned all about Marxism and Socialist Wokeness in the Seminary. What a joke. My theology degree reminds me of how God showed me what discernment really is at a great cost. At least I know now . . . but most young "hipster" worship leaders and pastors gobbled up the social gospel and now lead the big main stream churches.
