Despite the 2019 X3 having 61 complaints and 8 recalls to its name, its performance is justified by its high sales volume. The SUV is also still relatively hassle-free despite being built on a novel platform.

I have had none of these problems on my 2019 x3 except for a cracked windshield on a 2000 mile trip to California. This was definitely a pressure crack and not caused by a stone.Love my BMW at 60,000 miles.

Was not aware of those recalls. But at one point my sunroof quit working and the dealer reflashed the iDrive operating system in late 2021. This would have probably fixed many of those issues because it sounds like allot of these problems were fixed with Software around that time. Other then that its been a fantastic car. Its a was a pretty loaded model where I got 7K off. 47K out the door. Today your lucky to find same car for less then 60K. No way I'd pay that much. However one problem I will attest to is that rear hatch having a mind of its own. Its absolutely possessed and you have to be on guard otherwise that sucka will get you lol. Not a huge deal but it must be a flaw with sensor placement because I don't think there is any fix for it. It will forever be a flaw with the 19's. Don't get this with the no flats. You get a lower deck in back but those tires are 500 bucks a pop to replace. Other then that the design is perfect. So much room and the performance is great. ZF 8 speed is wonderful and allot of power. Takes premium gas and I only get around 25 MPG's around town. IN that the competition destroys it. But a Rav 4 or CR V drive like crap in comparison. This is the real deal. Real 8 speed ZF trans rear drive with AWD idrive.

I’ve heard that 2019 is the best year for the X3. Any validity to that?
I own a sdrive30i and I bought it because people said of how reliable it is. After buying I discovered through online forums that they have a common issue with the oil filter housing leaking. It’s about a $500 part and 7 hours of labor. That’s about the only downside I’ve found and am nervous about it happening on mine since I don’t have extended warranty.
