- “Park in the garage, or else”: That is the message from a homeowner’s association to some Chula Vista residents, but many homeowners in Eastlake Trails are bristling under the restrictions on outdoor parking.
NEVER buy a home in an HOA!!!
I’d rather live in the ghetto than deal with HOA IDIOTS.
uhhhhh...bad advise.
@@SuperKaydance It's great advice, you've never had problems with HOA before or are a board member of one. HOA's operate under the guise of protecting the community, but in reality all they do is get rich off the backs of home owners and residents, and enforce silly rules and regulations that don't hurt anyone or the environment, and fine you to oblivion if you don't comply. They are rigid and impossible to deal with, and cause more harm than good.
this reminds me of the one HOA that demanded ppl keep their garage doors open at all times. the residents got sick and tired of homes/garages getting robbed. if i remember correctly it was the HOAs security was stealing from everyone.
and we consider this a "free" country..
People should always keep in mind that the HOA board members make decisions and the management company does what the board members want. If you have complaints they should be directed at the board usually, not the management company. Sometimes people confuse the two entities.
buy a toy car and glue it to the wall,I will bet they don't have a ruling on that?
No idea why anyone would want to live in Eastlake 😂
I ran for the HOA to fight just this kind of thing. The big problem is the management companies thirst for power. VOTE... and attend meetings!
I will never buy a house in florida or california. love the northeast you buy a home and no one tell you what to do in your property.
There are plenty of houses here that don't have HOAs. Just stay away from the newer communities.
Never move where there is an HOA……..
I agree, park your car in the garage. If you can’t park in your garage, you probably have too much stuff.
cars in the driveway deter home invasions
Alex. And encourage car break-ins or stolen cars. DUH!!
@@marlenalinne6100 sweetheart a thief would most likely take a car that’s an easy grab. Not one where the owners are just a few feet away in their home. Risk the owner come out with a weapon. Bit of a hassle don’t you agree?
Never buy a home in California especially if its hoa.
Who the fuck would buy a home controlled by a HOA?🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Why and I say why do people insist on buying property in a place that has a home owners association. As soon as you sign on the dotted line you are at their mercy. I see so many complaints about them on here it's redicolous.
Amen
NEVER!! EVER!! buy a home with an HOA!!
You read and sign the rules?
it don’t matter who you hire, they are suppose to represent what the residents want. if the residents don’t want a specific rule, they need to ensure the HOA is abiding by what the residents want. most times these rules are stupid, and people refuse to fight back, so the management companies just keep doing more wrong. if residents don’t want a rule, they should all make it known. it is the best thing to do, stop making rules about needing updated plates, stop making rules on street parking, because they start trying to find ways to charge people for things they should not, they start working with companies and receiving kick backs to tow your vehicles, and to write fines. so to avoid their desires for corruption. do not allow them to be able to have authority over specific things in the property.
Well I know for me personally I would rather park inside my garage anyway it’ll prevent someone from breaking into my car if it’s the garage I know people get into garage doors to but you’ll have a better advantage parking inside then outside that’s just me and besides I ain’t got that much storage to be taking up space in the garage anyway so this wouldn’t be a problem for me but I could see where the residents are coming from most definitely
At my mother's neighborhood is the same way, and yes she loves the HOA, along with her older neighbors loving it.
This is just a way for them to generate money. They know that the contractors do not build garage that can house cars. You can’t open the doors there’s no storage inside the house. The lots are very small. They really should be on the hook for saying to residence you can only own As many cars as you will be able to put away so that we can’t see them. This is crazy. Not realistic
Some HOA rules are dumb. But residence can go to HOA meetings to complain and even run for seats to change things
Recall the HOA Board.
They all were provided bylaws and cc&rs. So why are they complaining now ?
Imagine having so much stuff you don’t actually need that you can’t even use the garage for its intended purpose.
Why do people put up with that!?
Wow, that is absolute rubbish. I guess these folks don't really own their homes. Insane.
The size of the garage is for Toyota Prius . if you own a full size SUV or full size Truck forget it.
Did they move into a place with an HOA? If so, well,……….
I know why doesn't everybody that owns a house with HOA immediately move out by a different house no one in the future ever buy homes through HOA and that will immediately put them out of business
As the man (Gen 1:26-28) KJV, a husband (Gen 2:21-25) and a father (Gen 3:16), the minister of God (Rom 13), teacher (Eph 4) and one of the survivors who was bullied in school, I had never heard of HOA until recently and have read nothing but horror stories about it charging homeowners fees, turning everyone's place of peace into an absolute daytime nightmare. I personally would never purchase a house where I have to continuously deal with Freddy Krueger while I am awake. Man likes peace.
HOA's are a joke....my house...my drive...not a damn thing they can do about it
But if ou buy a home in an HOA area, then you also agree to the rules and regulations of the HOA.
@@patricksaxon3983 That's why you NEVER buy a home with an HOA.
@@marlenalinne6100 most properties built from 2008 and ongoing are governed by HOA. It is not easy to find decent properties without HOA
@@japantarzan3551 I know. I played with the idea of downsizing and getting out of my house but everything available was HOA-governed, so I stayed put. None of the houses looked as if they were lived in and were "for display only". I have no interest in having some nibsh*tting busybody telling me how or when I have to cut my grass or if a car can be left in the driveway just so they can get more for their house when they sell it.
People in my community are making it a problem now cops and how have told me it’s not a rule and we can park as we pleasen
Wow can’t even park outside your home smh
If you've bought a home built within the last 10 years (outside the rust belt) then the HOA likely controls your home. You may not know it but it does. Only exceptions are separate homes built outside developments: they are usually next to the Sunoco station or next to the quarry.
lmao So if somebody doesn't live on an HOA your saying their home is trash? My house is beautiful and sits on 10 acres in a nice neighborhood with no hoa. And if it ever forms one ill just laugh at them and if I bought one already on one Id still just laugh at them. 😃 No snotty busybody would ever tell me what I can or can't do with my land. Its my territory, and my house. As long as people are not piling legit garbage or anything illegal than its nobodys business. I painted my house a nice color but if I wanted to paint it 1/2 lime green, and 1/2 bright orange than I would of. If I want live stock ill buy them. If I want to grow corn ill grow corn. If I want to park a foot on my grass well Ill park a foot on my grass. Hoa or no Hoa its my house, my land, and im king of my land.
@@britneyystaples91 That's the spirit. However it is a rare condition that you describe having. And even rarer now than it was two years ago when I posted my comment. Most homes built within the last 12 years now, are in an HOA. I caveated that by saying, "outside the rust belt." By that I mean outside the northern tier of the country. No I am not saying that if someone doesn't live in an HOA then their house is trash. I am saying the vast majority of homes built in recent history are HOA homes. And a lot of the minority that are not, well, are not in the best neighborhoods for a variety of reasons not the least of which is that they pre-date the HOA surge (i.e. they are old in dated neighborhoods). Since I posted my comment, we bought a nice new home on 4 acres an hour from the city, without an HOA (my flat ass demand). It was one of about five or six that we found during our two year search. The others ALL were either run down a bit or in a development with a Declaration of Covenants but without an HOA -- but with subtle language that could have resulted in an HOA at some point if a strong personality decided they wanted to make it happen.
@@britneyystaples91 First, HOAs are formed before anyone has bought a home. They do not usually form after the fact. And they are formed because there is some piece of land or amenity that all members share. This could be the street, a park, pathways, a pool, etc. And if you want complete control over your land, minus what the State, County and City allow, you should not live in an HOA. HOAs are not for everyone. But, if you are looking for the benefits of a managed neighborhood or the shared amenities then you need to understand and follow the HOA's rules. In most states you are legally bound to do so. Joining an HOA and then not following the rules can be costly even to the point of losing your home. So anyone that looks at a home in an HOA should read the rules first before signing anything. You will be much happier if you know what is expected.
@@Chrisicarus What are the benefits of an HOA (or as you call it, a "managed neighborhood")??
@@marlenalinne6100 it depends on the HOA. some have a private pool. some have parks. Some maintain your yard for you. Some just have a set of rules and someone to enforce them so that properties stay maintained and keep home values up. Many, not all, the homes in an HOA sell for more than comparable homes near by not in an HOA just because maintenance and similar factors are consistent.
But its your own fault for dealing with and buying a place with an HOA.
Madness.
Park in the driveway!!!
California rules, for California residents. This is the California way!
This sounds so ridiculous 🙄
Why do people read + sign the HOA agreement and then expect to be able to violate the rules when they start hoarding too much stuff? This is what entitlement looks like.
If your 7-passenger SUV doesn’t fit in your garage, you bought the wrong vehicle. It’s not the HOAs problem, it’s your problem.
Ain’t no way you agree with this dumb axx rule
Easy to tell that California is no longer in America. The commies rule in Commifornia.
Be glad the owners pay you but not to make it hard for residents better watch out for teaaves and be glad they do not charge home💖💝🕊 ownership if not get together and change them stop bouthering owner s and do productive things for them if not killed them out all they do is get a bunch of money and do not much💝💖🕊
I can't believe they did NAZI that coming.
How does this sound you give money to someone so they tell you what to do in your home...lol
Look outside ---- are you still flying the American flag?
Wow what a great example of freedom. NOT!!!
In the greatest country in the world. NOT IN THE UNIVERSE! !!
somebody trying to gain access to some extra money or someone's home. TRUMP ADMINISTRATION
Are you that dumb? You are in a Democrat run state. Keep on lying to yourself, because you are the only one that seems to be confused about who is running your state. Comment section is for the adults with a brain.
