This Lemon Blueberry bread has an amazing flavor. The combination of the lemon, blueberries and butter are delightfully delicious. If a peaceful day on the porch had a flavor this would be it. You can serve it as a breakfast cake, snack with coffee or tea, or an evening dessert. It is just good anytime of the day and will satisfy those cravings.

Lemon and blueberries is just a wonderfully delicious mixture!!
I like to add a little lemon juice to fresh strawberries, too. Especially if the berries are slightly unripened. The acid in the juice sort of "cooks" them if they're sliced with some sugar added and marinaded for a few hours. Lovely on shortcake with whipped cream on top.

Happy Mother’s Day! My mom passed several years ago and I think of her more today than when she was alive. I pray for her every night that she forgive how selfish I was and not getting to know her better when I had the chance. ❤❤
If she was a God-fearing Christian then she is with the Lord and NOT thinking of how people on earth wronged her. What's done is done. There is no going back or changing things, now...
As Christians, we know we MUST learn how to forgive others... for some of us that comes easily; for some, that lesson takes a whole lot of God to master... but even when we have learned how to forgive others, we must then also learn how to forgive OURSELVES. THAT is the HARDEST part 🤦🏼. Many of us even punish ourselves. We let ourselves go or deny ourselves happiness or joy... we withdraw from society... all because we do not feel we are worthy TO be forgiven. I know, because I have done this very thing to myself. I did it (punished myself) for eight years before the Holy Spirit used a friend of mine to relay a message to me that really hit home. She (He) said to me that WE NEED TO LEARN TO BE GENTLE WITH OURSELVES 🤕. When she said that to me, I got that tunnel vision-like hearing🌪 I get when I hear something in the spirit 🌬. Those words, over the next few months really permeated my soul. Be gentle with MYSELF😳? How do I do that 🤷🏼? Where do I begin🤷🏼? (Laugh if you want, but that was really a foreign concept to me.) Is that what God would want 🤔? Had I suffered long enough ? How have I really been punishing myself? Can I learn to forgive myself even if the person I hurt has not forgiven me? A hundred questions ran through my mind. (Man, when the Holy Spirit relays a message to you, it isn't something you are quickly going to forget!)
So, now, I am trying this NEW thing- trying to learn to forgive MYSELFof past mistakes, failures, sins. My husband once told me that we cannot love another person until we have learned to love OURSELVES. Is there truth to that; if so, how do I do that? HOW do I learn to love MYSELF. I used to think loving yourself is vain... and it IS... IF you are talking about worldly love and not Christ-like love. I then remembered 💡 that was a prayer I asked of God a few years back. How do I learn to love MYSELF? I think He is answering that question NOW, all these years later, because NOW I am a Christian + know His Word... now, I am (mentally + spiritually) ready to receive my answer. God is so so good. Honestly, He is. 🙌🏻☝🏻👑💃🏼
So, recognize, dear sister, that Jesus' shoulders are MUCH wider than yours. He is more equipped than you are to bear the weight of your burdens 🏋. They have weighed you down long enough 🤕. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord + Savior + have repented for your sins + have already forgiven your mother, ALLOW Jesus to heal your your wounds 💕- your heart 💔 and your mind (memories). Allow yourself to move forward and really let go of the past. Keep in mind, as Christians, we are constantly being pruned and tested by God who works ALL things out for the good of those who love Him; so, you are no longer the person you USED to be. That person no longer exists. Also keep in mind this- your stories about your mother and you belong to you. Instead of letting them depress you, SHARE them. Share YOURSELF with others. Share HER with others. What has God taught you through your experiences with her being your mother and with you being her daughter? Perhaps you can consider these things then ask God to help you express your thoughts/story in a way that will glorify God and inspire someone who used to be like you USED to be or someone going through what you have gone through (guilt, shame). Perhaps you can use your experiences to comfort them, inspire them and/or motivate them, or to help them along the way. 🤗
Find strength in the Lord and march on, Christian soldier. 🤗 ❤
