Undead Death Knight ... Human -> Killed -> Made into Scrouge pawn -> Rebelled as a Forsaken -> Got recruited into the Horde -> Got killed again -> Got made into a Scourge pawn -> Rebelled as an Ebon Knigth -> Got recruited into the Horde ... I see a pattern here XD
You could also take it as an undead that didn't rebel alongside the Forsaken and managed to eventually become a Death Knight by proving themself, rather than being killed again and turned into one.
You walk up to a man pinned down by saronite arrows " Please mister, my granny's sick at home. I'm all she has left !" The Lich King tells you " No survivors !" You look to your right and see a woman who nearly made it out of Havenshire get pinned by a saronite arrow in her foot. " Spare me! I have five children at home! They'll starve if I die!" The king calls to you again " No hesitation!" You then get attacked by a frantic old man who claims you may deserve a fate worse than death. The king exclaims " All must die !"
And then you come across one limping, nay, CRAWLING to New Havenshire. Her legs have been torn apart by the unending volleys of Saronite arrows. She looks up at you, whatever pleas she tries to push out are weak whispers. "No... I almost...Made it..." Your cold empty heart beats once. But only ever once, as his voice pulls you back into his enthrallment. *_"END IT."_*
because it wasn't a retcon, it was meant as it was from start and this music, i remember very clearly just standing to listen to this AMAZING stunning music doing absolutely nothing also Lich King talking to you, controlling you Seriously why even mention DH here ? u are filthing this amazing masterpiece
It's much more memorable than the DH quest line. I barely remember that at all. But the DK story line? Loved every part of it. Especially obliterating the Scarlet Crusade by any means necessary.
I love that glassy sound from 1:27 onward. It's like a wailing sound, but not shrill or defiant. It's... Dying. Giving up. An expression of exhaustion beyond the point of actually having any energy left to express anything. A fragile, haunting noise, far away from all the orchestral bombast but still fittingly carried by it.
Awesome analysis! I know it's a two year old comment but still. I feel the same. I'm always drawn back to these old death knight soundtracks because of the sheer negative emotion they convey.
A Hero, that’s what you once were... You stood boldly against the Shadow and purchased another dawn for the World with your life. But the Evil you fought is not so easily banished. The Victory you claimed not so easily held. For now the Spectre of Death looms above the world yet again and it has found new champions to bring about its final reign. Knights of Darkness, wielding runes of death and destruction, bound by the will of the Lich King. This is the hour of their ascension, this is the hour of your dark rebirth.
Out of everything, wotlk was the best feaking expansion. It had so much of the good stuff. Fun questing, AMAZING story and music. Fun raids and cool gear. Best expansion of them all.
Back when each deathknight spec could tank and had unique deathknight talents.... Then Blizzard stripped them all :( Unbreakable armor I miss you. And the ability to resurrect party members as a ghoul which gained like 70% of your stats lol, it was actually stronger than their player form.
7:21 is just so grim, dire & macabre, dreadful & sinister. Could hear this on a loop. It was awesome, it came on right before the assault on Light's Hope Chapel, the Death Knight generals mounted on their Acherus Deathchargers, about to raise an army of the dead. It is perfect for what the Death Knight means: total devastation and dreadful obliteration to all. To the Knights of the Ebon Blade, I salute you. May we shed and reap blood and souls on the battlefield together one day.
The singing at that part of the song chills me to the bone. I love that track! It's so haunting yet amazing at the same time. I might have to have that played at my funeral.
+Astral Wolf It is so bad that WOTLK raids are soloed easily now. I still remember how i was making groups and setting everything OK before each boss, it took me nearly 2-5mins to defeat each one. Now in under 1min they are easily killed. I hope that in Patch 6.2 timewalking will feature raids
***** I played on Dispersion WoW server and Molten WoW and Dalaran WoW too. They were nice, but after Warlords of Draenor release, i am not playing them anymore.
"Remember who owns your soul, Death Knight!" Starting as a Death Knight in Ebon Hold, taking orders from the Lich King and killing the innocent was so fully satisfying,... also very therapeutic. A nice way to express my rage :))
Question: Does your Death Knight character act as a spy in the Alliance/Horde, or do you finally regain your will and fight back against the Lich King?
Martin Tony i know the story the lich king use them as a death knights but in the same time he want your death knight and other to die send them to their death in the end of quests death knight but not most perivet server have this quest anyway the man who carry ash bringer will tell all death knights lich king send all of you to thier death and lich king come and tell yas but he go back just 1 attack he make and go back then about what you will be allaince or horde for example orc deathknight will go horde and human deathknight will go allaince all of them go back to their citys when they finsh quests deathknight thats why all death kngiht make revoultion and attack the lich king
Martin Tony Basically all Death Knights are under the Will of the Lich King, during the Death Knight quest chain you are in service of the Lich King, killing innocents and Scarlet Crusaders alike. Eventually you are instructed to dispose of a group of Argent Dawn prisoners who were captured by the Scarlet Crusade. One of the prisoners appears to be a friend and tries to get through the Lich King's will and free you from his grasp, without effect. Then somewhat later, during The Light of Dawn (Quest) after the Scourge army has been defeated and forced to kneel in front of Light's Hope, Darion's father makes a appearance. Every Death Knight of Acherus will see a somewhat familiar event happening in front of their eyes, only visible to them. You could say the voice of a close relative/friend literally snapped you out of the Lich King's control. This being only possible due the power of the Light that comes from the thousand Lordaeron champions lying beneath the chapel. Arthas telling Tirion that he "Did sent them here to die" and that "Their lives are meaningless" was the final sting needed to free the remaining Death Knights, Darion already being freed thanks to his father, The Ashbringer. When Acherus is back in the control of The Ebon Blade, lore-wise the Death Knights are given a choice: Return to the Alliance or Horde, or stay with The Ebon Blade. They aren't spies and you could see them like representatives of The Ebon Blade.
I used the music from 4:05 onwards in a video I made for my Persuasive Speech project showing pictures of dogs and cats being tortured & cooked alive in China & South Korea for meat & medicine. Many of my classmates came very close to tearing up.
Had to play the original Warcrafts to enjoy any expansion from TBC to WOTLK...We all know that when Arthas died, it shattered something in us all who guided him through stratholme, and on his way to Frostmourne in Dragonblight Warcraft III.TBC was fun for that players were able to enter the mysterious world of the Outlands, Draenor, homeland of the Orcs and refuge for Draenei. Not to mention for those who played with Maiev, we can all now realize that her hunt is over...It was fun to unlock lore.
Demon hunters: How much have you sacrificed?... Well Technically I fought evil, died, got ressurected under the control of the lich king, a evil undead king, broke free from that control, while being bombarded with shit and death threats we rejoined our respective factions while still working under Acherus, went to Northrend and defeated the lich king. Unlike you demon hunters who cry about their sufferings, we embrace it and use it to defeat our enemies. =_= what did you do? abandon your friends and family, stabbed your eyes out and stuffed demon junk into you. xD
idk what it is about wrath of the Lich king, i enjoyed my time in Bc when i first joined the game, but there was just something about wrath mainly the story and main villain. Even before i read up on the story of Arthas and the Lich king i just knew this guy had some history to him, and was very interesting. Either way wrath will always have that special place in my heart, The burning crusade may have gotten me into wow and the game, but World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich king, made me love the lore of the Warcraft universe :D

Slaughter every last Scarlet Crusader out there.. The Lich King watches over us minions leave only ashes in your wake...."see's fall of the Lich King.... Me: Oh where did we go wrong D:"
the overall atmosphere and feel of TBC is what made it so special. wrath was comparably special in its own way. both of those expansions provided some of the best that blizzard had to offer. many memories and many good times.
I think everything was fun up until Cataclysm. BC had incredible content - TK, BT, SWP, and the zones - but I think WotLK was the most engaging expansion in my opinion. This might be a bias, as I did indulge in the game a lot more during that time period, but I felt like the storyline, quests, and zones were much deeper. The music, though .... absolutely nothing compares to WotLK .... it's just incredible, no matter how many times I listen to the tracks.
Thank you very much for this upload, I have been trying to find the Death Knight questing phase music for this area and have not been able to do it, I believe the best part of the music starts around 7:30. Thank you very much for this upload.
God, i remember when i first created my DK back at 80...such epic moements and i felt so excited in everything i did! i love this questline so much, for sure the best that Blizzard has done! the music fills me with nosltagic feelings and sadness, as much as this sounds sad...Wrath privded me with some memories and feelings that i will look back on in 20 years and smile. RIP Wotlk
Every expansion is nice. I agree with you that WOTLK is the best, but the rest are not so bad. In truth, i enjoyed playing cataclysm much. The flying mounts in azeroth saved me alot of gold, and leveling alts was very fast. No expansion is bad or worst, all are excellent :D
I remember first playing one and I would go around killing innocent civilians in havenshire and the town next to it, torturing people for information and watching people get pinned by saronite arrows. :) it was an experience
@Wowmusicable Is there a way where you can re-record 6:18 to end of this piece for me? I was wondering because I want to listen to it on repeat mode without having to manually rewind so it just starts over for me every time. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks very much again for your work and skill in recording cool music.
TBC was pretty great, especially Sunwell. Even though I never got to do it personally, it's pretty much said that Sunwell pathed the way for the style of raiding we see today. And Wrath was good, especially Ulduar, but I somewhat feel that ICC was a bit of a let down, mechanics and story wise. Sure, Arthas kind of had to die, but he was such a badass! It's sad to see the good bad guys die. ;(
And the villains are never at their full power..I mean whats stopping arthas from turning every single on us into the undead? The only good thing about the raid is Fury of Frostmoune..sigh memories
The grinding and questing sucked in TBC. Outlands quests alone got you nowhere, but the dungeons were cool. But, honestly, I liked Wrath best, because you could get through by questing or dungeons alone. I got my main from levels 20-70 without even questing. And, there wasn't a rush to level. I would sit in Howling Fjord all day sometimes, hehe. But, the dungeons in TBC had great storyline. I guess I can't really pick between the two. They're both awesome.
I make Death Knights just to go through the starting zone and have the Wrath feel again. That expac had the best music, quests, raids and fun. I am Kyrhyraeth and I am an Unholy Death Knight. Thank you for posting this it still gives me chills.
Anyone know what the name of the first song is? It appears to be a darker, more somber version of "Invincible" Would love to have a full track of that if anyone knows the name pls reply. Thanks.
I like so many others made a DK alt. Mostly I just wanted to see the starting area, then I just kept going. I don't know why, I mean it was fun and cool and maybe I wanted to try my hand at tanking for a change, though I kind of stank at it. What was I doing wrong?
I have no idea. I was just going through some screenshots stored on an external hard drive for nostalgia today. "Best DK tank ever :D" over the heads of my raid mates. I rolled a DK on a PVP server, and started laughing like a maniac the first time I deathgripped an NPC during the starter zone. I went tank spec, and dominated Warsong Gulch as an unkillable, unstoppable flag carrier, tanked all the Burning Crusade dungeons while leveling up. Killed higher level paladins and other deathknights while questing in Northrend. Purged Stranglethorn Vale of all rogues and feral druids ganking low level characters and quest givers just for fun (On A Pale Horse). Dueled best out of three with a higher level deathknight decked out in PVP gear in Eastern Plaguelands who could not figure out why he couldn't kill me. (Tank cooldowns duh). Did all hard-mode lvl 80 5-mans, and tanked the PVP bosses in PUG raids. After that, I tanked Ice Crown Citadel. Deathknights are overpowered, glorious fun. My "alt", quickly became my main, and I didn't raid or pvp with my hunters, mage, warlocks, or warrior, pretty much ever again.
@@taiji1478 Sounds like a hell of a time. Wouldn't want to have been on the other end of your blade. And from reading your story I can't help but be reminded of my friend. His main was a warlock but come Wrath he made a DK and ended up playing on him most of the time. I wonder if he thought it was fun like that too. Man I miss him, and how I made him so envious of my mount collection. The TLPD was a particular fun reaction of his and I ended up encouraging him to fish up the Sea Turtle after I got it. Though he was lucky enough to get the Grand Black Mammoth from Archavon, I never was able to get that. *sigh* So many fun memories from back then. Though I suppose that's why most of us come here to listen and comment anyways, to reminise about the past.
@@Roboglenn387 i was especially fond of clipping other Deathknights. WOTLK brought a huge amount of new players to the game, many just to play DKs. I had experience tanking with my warlock (extreme boss soloing) and my warrior. I also understood pet management, with my hunters and warlocks, and I understood "evil magic" via my warlocks. so along comes the Deathknight, with pets, evil magic and that undead horse with goat horns and skulls on it. And I had years of pvp experience. So when Wrath was released, there were a ton of new Deathknights that had no idea really, how to maximize that class. I grasped it immediately and just killed every other DK I saw on sight. During Cata, I solod Naxx 10 man for golds. Your friend the former warlock-turned-deathknight sounds just like me.
@@Roboglenn387 speaking of reminiscing, i made my DK a Draeni. My previous toons were all humans for spell casting and warrior, with one dwarf and one elf for my two hunters. All good-looking, pretty perfectly Alliance-looking characters. With my draeni, instead of the cute powder-blue skin with short curly horns sweeping backwards look that was so common, I made mine with the darkest skin tone, something like gray-purple, and I made my horns huge, long and standing out sideways on both sides of my head like an old-fashioned picture of a demon. So I've got huge horns and hooves and a tail. Guess what. Every Horde in the game would stop to dance and flirt with me. I'd be standing in front of an instance waiting for my crew to arrive, and there would be undead warriors doing the heavy metal dance next to me. I'd run the flag in Warsong, and there would be trolls doing their dance in the flag room. I would be banking in Dalaran, and there would be two Tauren warriors doing their dance next to me. I looked like I belonged to the Horde, and not the Alliance. And that made for some fun screenshots. I would add that the Draeni self-heal and +hit bonus made it easier to take on higher level players in PVP and do my tanking business in raids or solo. Let's just say, I put a lot of thought into my Deathknight before I even started playing with it.
+Rudy Cooper I always just saw them as extra rotty human death knights though I guess if you wanted to get technical in the lore department then they're Forsaken who had fallen back under the Lich Kings sway.
+TheLadyRegret Not to mention that both human and undead DK share voice sounds, which means they are basically the same thing, just the humans less rotten.
polaski421 Well the forsaken model is just an Undead human without being a DK, but lore wise Forsaken can be any race. Forsaken are Undead who were able to free themselves from the Lich Kings control. They're the same as any other Scourge they simply have free will. So a Forsaken DK could have been undead before they became a DK, they were simply reclaimed by the Lich King, OR they are human and only became undead when they became a DK and are just more rotten then most.
A hero. That's what you once were...
Jake Long I've rolled enough Death Knights to be able to fully recite that quest's text.
+Jake Long Oh, that ambiguity...
+ElithianFox I can do the narration and the accent.

except the quest that makes you remember your past in silverpine forest, proving right what op says.
And then there's the order hall campaign where you question whether or not the Death Knights are truly free from the Lich King.
THANK YOU! I've always thought that for the forsaken death knight, its just so pathetic lorewise

RIP Wotlk
Dude it has!
Man... 00:37 to 1:05 gives me the chills. Just the guy in the background singing with the music. So epic.
Does anyone know where i can find a continuous loop of the music that starts at 00:34? it ends around 01:14
It plays at arthas' death cinematic
An karanir thanagor-name
This is the moment of your dark rebirth......
Bye bye Wotlk Classic ❤ We will see you in 13 years again!
The music of Wow is and always will be one thing: Awesome
Is made me remember when I play a death knight for the first time
Using this to help me write my personal statement. Thank you.
Suffer well.
1:22 to 4:02 is the best part for me.
We…p…press..o..on…
For the Ebon Blade, For the Damned.
It's been awhile since I haven't played Wow
Death knight Forever 💀🗡
0:00 sounds like the intro for a hearthstone legendary. Maybe Thassarian?
I remember first playing one and I would go around killing innocent civilians in havenshire and the town next to it, torturing people for information and watching people get pinned by saronite arrows. :) it was an experience
7:44 - Warcraft 3??
maybe
5:07 This is why you are here.
Sounds like someone didn't get to raid!
"from arthas my son" EPIC!
4:06 EPIC!!!
man you missed alot of things then, TBC was like the best expansion that ever came out for raiding and dungeon progession
I didin't raid at all in TBC but when running through them now i personally dont like the style and environment but i do love the Wotlk style.
Beware the living...
@Wowmusicable Is there a way where you can re-record 6:18 to end of this piece for me? I was wondering because I want to listen to it on repeat mode without having to manually rewind so it just starts over for me every time. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks very much again for your work and skill in recording cool music.
paladins were VERY powerful in WotLK
all life... must end
Actually it would be Kil'jeaden the de'facto leader of the burning legion.
4:05
Alwais my home.
It was much more fun than Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm by far, I guess ignorant people do exist.
make that a tribute to all dks
H-heroes…is that? Yea…is that what we once were?
So long now
So very long…
Anyone knows if the fragment at 1:05 is part of something longer?
Is that new lich king ever coming?
#nostalgia... Screw cataclysm, mists of pandaria, and burning crusade. WoTLK ftw!
Cata? Sure. MoP? Why not. TBC? ...What? How!? You clearly don't under- you know what, I'm done. Just leave, now. >:O
Im a wrath veteran, not sure about TBC though, seemed boring XD
MaugerTube "There must always be a Lich King" so don't worry :D
00:28 Best
Arthas is a badass but still my lord (i'm a death knight PROBLEM ? :D)
Thank you for posting this it still gives me chills.
sucks that valkyries now serve that wench that calls herself a banshee queen

Anyone know what the name of the first song is? It appears to be a darker, more somber version of "Invincible" Would love to have a full track of that if anyone knows the name pls reply. Thanks.
Jeremi Kalkowski Thanks!
Uh dk forever!

Sounds like a hell of a time.
I Still don't get why people say that TBC was so awesome :( what am I missing?
Lol, if you choose an Undead DK, it means you are double-dead?
Rudy Cooper I guess, because there are examples of it like Blood elf princes in ICC.
+Rudy Cooper I always just saw them as extra rotty human death knights though I guess if you wanted to get technical in the lore department then they're Forsaken who had fallen back under the Lich Kings sway.
+TheLadyRegret Not to mention that both human and undead DK share voice sounds, which means they are basically the same thing, just the humans less rotten.
polaski421
Well the forsaken model is just an Undead human without being a DK, but lore wise Forsaken can be any race.
Well the WOW forsaken are mostly humans so we can't have undead elves here, anyway so yeah it might be a reclaimed forsaken or a rotten human.
@nicBillsmashBro Kill'Jaeden bro, Ilidan was just the boss of the second patch of BC
who was the boss for BC? never found that out
love that music
And karazahn? Are you saying karazahn is boring, too?
