Hope you can do a full weekend with a club and have an instructor in the right seat. You clearly have a good attitude and skills that would let you do great with some instruction. Hope you have fun! man its nice to see a first track day, I've done around 5-6 track days so far and it helps A LOT to get seat time as my first day looked a lot like yours. Good first effort for the day
Did my first track day last Saturday at palmer motorsports park in mass 3 and half hours from us. It was time trials and a blast. Poconos is definitely on the list great video
Well put together video of the day! I'm the guy with the '09 Cobalt SS. I have a few videos from the same day as well posted over on my channel. I was also back at Pocono last week (6/13) and I am hoping to hit up the one in July (11th I think). I saw you mentioned that the SS was stock; however, it does have a tune on it and upgraded suspension bushings as well as piping. Hopefully we'll bump into each other again at another event!

Zed awesome video....that looks like so much fun, also a bit scary to be honest.....I’ve never been to a track and has been thinking about it I drive a 2K15 MK7 GTI and just want to see what the car can do and feel driving it at higher speeds and handling...thanks for sharing....
For the first lap, taking at a big corner with 80 mph is almost guaranteed to run off.. glad you and your R survied. Last time I made a mistake on track I lost two tires and a rim :(
Ouch. Did you have a really bad runoff? I didn't have to let the car off the track.. not sure why I did other than not wanting to use the brakes which is dumb.
@@zed4me actually no. But I hitted a pot hole instead which is so unfortunate. Braking is so hard lol, dont feel bad about how you react, it takes pratice.
Glad to see someone in the novice class that has done some research regarding rules and regs while on track. It let's you worry more about improving your driving skills. Keep it up. Intermediate seems like it usually has some less cars in it. Check out some of my videos. Hopefully I'll see you out there next year.
Sounds like you live in the Allentown/Bethlehem area! I have a Focus ST and I’m thinking of upgrading to the R but would like to see how tuned R’s are.. already driven stock ones
How's the overall reliability been for the Golf? I just bought a off lease A3 Quattro and love it, but trying to figure out what I need to be prepared for when the warranty expires. Go Seawolves!
zed4me 🤔 good to know. Been toying with a stage 1 tune, milltek exhaust, and some lowering springs and red stuff brakes. Don't need too much power (spoiled by the bike ha).

I was there as well with my mk7.5 Golf R. I remember that oil sleek.. Actually a car blew the engine in the Advanced session.

It's been pretty rock solid with regular maintenance. I've been stage 2 for most of its life and nothing has failed on me requiring replacement yet.
