You removed only one small plastic cover. In a video by Fitcamx also the larger unit is removed. Is it unnecessary?

I'm going to say removing the larger cover is unnecessary unless you have the model with the rear camera.

Been thinking about getting this cam from Viva but if I do decide to pull the trigger, I'll use your link. Thanks for the review/tutorial!
One other thing, now that you've used the Orbit software for a couple months, any useful tricks you've figured out? Do you still use it for anything?

Once I changed my settings to enable acc and the fog light switch, I have only used it for a brake job and to reset the oil service interval. I'm considering adding the additional parking sensors so I will need it for that.

Can you try retrofit parking camera if you don't already have it?
    Thanks

The unit isn't designed to add on to it.

How has this held up? Any issues? I’m looking to buying this soon.

I actually pulled some footage yesterday to review. Very easy to watch and download footage. Only wish I had the rear camera as well. I may upgrade to that one in the future.

won't this drain the car battery? ...for example, if the care isn't used for a week or so..

    • @DIYEVERYTHING

It is powered through the mirror wiring which powers down within a minute or two of you turning off and leaving the vehicle.

      Thanks!
So such connection way isn't good for dashcam working in a parking mode. I mean 70mai, for example.

Black electrical tape or black nail polish or any black black paint. Will take care of those little flashing lights.

Hello I just watched your video and I have a 2012 s60 t5. I don’t see an option for my year, which one did you buy? Please and thank you

Unfortunately, they only make them for the SPA generation of Volvos.
