Good morning. Short question. If you press the recording button on the housing, the emergency recordings are saved in the length you set in the app (3min, 5min etc.) is my question. Is the time of pressing always the end of the video? Or is it the middle of the video (from 5min setting, 2.30min before pressing and 2.30min after) Unfortunately I haven't seen any reviews of this here on RUclips. Best regards
I'm thinking about getting this for my Ioniq 5, but I really like having the GPS and speed recording of my current dash cam. I may wait a while and see if they come out with a more advanced version with those features. Otherwise, seems like good video quality and I really like the OEM look. By the way, I recognized those streets - we must live in the same city.
Ha yeah northern dfw area? And you're right. I would love those features and they did mention they would be coming in future models. So fingers crossed? If I get one, I'll post a video.
A friend of mine got a FitcamX for his Porsche 911 992 it looks simple as it would have been fitted by Porsche itself. The only problem his facing he can't connect using the FitcamX app on his iPhone but the Dash Cam works it records, plus the Sound itself.
Haven't had any issues. Just be aware it doesn't have gps or accelerometer. But for while I'm driving, it's great. Doesn't record all the time, though. Just when powered up. Haven't needed it otherwise. The quality, app, and reliability has been great. And love the look. Forget it's there.
Glad you liked it. Really appreciate and get excited to see comments like yours that justify why I like making videos! Tried to make sure I emphasized the good and mentioned what it doesn't do (cloud, motion detection, always on, etc.). Thanks for the support if you end up getting one! I appreciate the video, but in the future when doing a video installation you should have the camera on the area you are working not a foot or 2 back with a camera on your head. You can't see what you are doing? You're talking about it but you can't actually see what you are doing. :(. From the beginning of the removal of the casing, you used the tool they provided to remove it but you can't see where you are putting it because of you camera angle. Something to think about....
Feedback received for sure. Even when I was watching this, I thought something similar. Ive bought some mounts to get some better angles for videos like this.
I would like to get one, but seeing alot of comments elsewhere about it overheating. Tacoma mainly sits in the sun with little to no shade. Live in pa so decently hot summers. Upper 90°F
Interesting. Haven't seen that with mine. Mine is usually garaged but has made it through a summer of driving in Texas but then again I don't go back and check footage very often. I'll update if I see anything like this
@@Emadificationsdo you by any chance have a link to the usb-harness for the camera you removed? I’m looking for that solution to avoid the very long cable to the 12v outlet. Thanks, awesome video btw.
Just bought this with the companies fuse box kit. You won’t get parking mode unless you hardwire it to the box or obd. The standard one everyone review is easy install but worried about how it could affect the cruise sensor in the long run. Hardwiring it you at least get to tap it off a less essential component and you get the parking mode feature. Website says it will only record major collisions during parking mode and a one minute video that can only delete manually on the app. Battery will never drain since it’s not continuous recording in park mode.
I don't understand why it doesn't store the video in clips. In essence if you turn off the engine you lost your video unless you downloaded it to your phone beforehand. :(
My friend's Answer from FITCAMX Support He is not facing the problem you have all his clips are saved onto the SD Micro Card even when the car is turned off they are still on the SD Card which came along with the Dash Cam including the adaptor to use if you want to transfer your clips onto the Computer which I recommend you can always delete the old clips later on. 1. Yes, our dash cam also supports recording sound, you can turn it on in the settings of the APP. 2. Since our dash cam records in a loop, the 'oldest video' you mentioned will be overwritten by the latest video after some time. 3.If you want a certain video not to be overwritten, you can click the 'camera button' on the dash cam during recording to lock it so that the video will not be overwritten. Locked videos will be stored in the 'Locked file'.
You could also look at it the other way. If you're involved in an accident but the other person's attorney uses your dash cam footage to prove you were speeding, even if only a few miles an hour, it could turn against you. No proof of speed might actually be a good thing.
@@shepshape2585 Actually gps info on the dash camera is not necessary to determine actual speed. It’s easy for the authorities to time the video between two known points giving the distance travelled against the time taken, and they’ve worked out your speed anyway!
I don't have home link in my wind awd w tech. Let me check with others. I don't think it impacts it as it just piggybacks off the power, but doesn't intercept anything. Rain sensing wipers still work.

IMO no speed is awesome! Imagine someone ran stop sign and hit you but you were accidentally speeding at the time. Technically it doesn't matter however in court other lawyers can use it against you in some legal twist. All I need is a timestamp (which it does have).
The rear one looks like it should be wired to run to the back of the car and attaches to the rear somewhere just like many others do. So you will have to run the wire back to the car tucked properly. I haven't tried it out but asked them to provide it so I can review it.
@@prem1977in as you can read on their website the harness to the fusebox is an accessory if you want that function. And it apparently doesn't record all the time, just if it's hit it will start recording while parked. So will not drain a battery.
so it says it does in the options. When I get home next week, i can double check to see if it actually records while car is parked. I havent checked. I am traveling so will not be near the camera to connect for a few days.
I had a neighbor try this camera with his 2022 Accord. While the video quality was good, because the camera connected via the phone’s Wi-Fi, the camera kept cutting out, as his Android Auto would cause the camera to stop recording when it disconnected the Fitcamx wi-fi connection. Essentially, each would terminate the other’s connection, as only one could connect at a time, and each tried to be the one connection. Too bad.
So mine doesn't stop recording when it's not connected to wifi or anything. Android auto didn't interfere either. I haven't had any intermittent issues with it of not recording at all. The only complaint I have is my phone, if wifi is on, will connect automatically to the camera wifi network... But a simple de-select of "connect automatically" solved that problem.
The camera records whether or not it's connected to the phone. The phone app is used to review and save videos/pics that is saved on the camera in the sd card.
They need to start charging people using their phones while driving to the same seriousness as drunk drivers. Both kill and injury people just the same because their attention and reaction times are GREATLY IMPAIRED.
Nice camera, decent video quality. The biggest missing feature seems to be GPS to show location, speed, etc.
I gave them that exact feedback. Let's hope they listen
