I don't understand how people are scared of steak tartare when they eat sushi all the time
Well raw beef aren't usually common and more looked to be seen as full of maggots or something without understanding it's the quality and care that makes it safe to eat. But sushi isn't even close to that and well, everyone knows it's safe to eat lol. Yes it can have maggots, but it can be safe to eat raw.
@@Milksi_bons good point
*coughchickenteriyaki*
fish is much safer than other conventional meats like chicken and pork. and so we dont care about eating rare fish. eating raw eggs often leads to salmonella so thats another reason why people are afraid.
DeathBySeaToast Yeah but it’s delicious
raw meat + raw egg yolk = americans running for their lives
You might want to revisit that statement. We have come a long way. So while some may run the rest of use will slow walk over to see what you are making lol
but it has soy sauce in it.
What does soy sauce being in it have to do with anything?
@@biggdaddy202003 it gives flavor...
Outside of the coastal cities, i can see people running away
Here in Switzerland we eat tartare on toast with butter. You have your tartare "patty" in your plate, and you spread a bit of butter on your toast and put a dollup of tartare (so you repeat it with each bite, it doesn't come on the toast already). A really good way to eat it imo! Yummy!
Just had it exactly that way last night in Calistoga, California.
that dish was so perfect until he added fries
What do you serve with it then? Asparagus?
@@laptopcommando toasted bread!
@@shoroukpinc5721 that's a garnish, not a side.
Lol ok
Agree
YEET
Great video chef! Your welcome back to the shop next time your in town, next time your going to have to try the cote de bouef!!
Some of the best Tartare I've seen. I would actually try this.
Me at the beginning of the video: he better go to cote de boeuf .... that's my spot... you can get stuff for a make a top notch at home dinner, or eat that amazing tartare... you're really going to the best places in the city... respect!
he didn't even wear glove
Czech Tartare is the best!
Fries is not matching
I have never tried steak tartare......but this does look amazing, merci Chef :)
I might have to take you up on that :)
hot up in the 6 boy
I understand it's safe to eat, but why in literal fuck would you eat raw beef with a raw egg? We discovered fire for a reason. Makes no fucking sense. It's literally ground beef with some shit mixed in, topped with an actual raw egg because let's round it off with maximum dumbass, shall we. People and their pretentious nonsense.
Hey guys, I decided to let my dog shit on a plate, top it with some Japanese cherry blossom leaves and call it high-class dessert. I'm gonna charge $19.99 for it. Sound fair? I think it does.
😷🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😓😓🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😥😥😥😥😥😥🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
No thanks! I’ll pass on the ecoli platter.
Having worked at a fancy high end place it's gross to see how other places prepare a steak tartare. Fries with a tartare?!? Are you kidding me, that's an insult to the dish and you shouldn't be a cook when serving that shit
Go to any Slavic country and it's not Tartar for god fucking sake it's Tatar....
The only problem is that it's so difficult to get a table because they don't take reservations and there only the bar, two tables, you have to be willing to wait to get a table. Otherwise, the best.
I’m thinking of a Gordon Ramsey reference idk why.
Cause it's RAW!
Its suppoused to be similar consistency as pate. Eaten as spread on french baquette slices as apetiser.
Amazing looking food. Thanks for these videos in Canada. Cheers, Chef John.
Tasty food
The Open Road “ohoh yeah”
Those freeze really look like fries.
Im so glad you loved my city!!!!! Sucks cuz i work around there it would have been amazing if you stopped by!!!!
I came here after watching mr bean’s steak tartare episode.
🤢
I am loving the addition of green peppercorns to the Steak Tartare, first time I have seen this done. EXCELLENT.
Capers. They're usually always in it.
I'm watching Wall Street right now, had to pause at the scene where Charlie Sheen gets steak tartare in the fancy restaurant to see how it's made
We miss you, Food Busker!!! 😔
I love a good tartare, so much flavour, if it's done right. Amazing food! Great find, I'll go there if I happen to be in Toronto!
Have never been a fan of tar-tar but with the truffle paste I'd give it another try, Chef. Those guys were cool and Toronto seems pretty amazing. Great video and a huge thumb's up as always.
Looks so amazing! I bet it is an explosion of flavor in your mouth!
Not cut fine enough.
IT'S FUCKING RAW
its better like this tho Busker ! variety of videos rich channel is better
Great instructional and entertaining vid as always . . Ta!
mr. bean hate it.😂
It's probably because he's talking to the camera but he handled the meat so roughly and slowly it got to somewhere between room temp and his body temp. For texture it should be barely above fridge temp. (12-15c or so is good)
What happened to the yellow egg hart 😳. Should be with in the tartare with the mustard.... among other fails. nice snack. But thàt, is not steak tartare.
I absolutely love steak tartare! Unfortunatley, I haven't eaten it for more than 30 years. I first tried it in Amsterdam in 1969 and only a couple more times in the intervening years (I'm 74 now) But that was when I was backpacking through Europe. In my circles, I feel like a weirdo - I don't personally know a soul that would even think of eating steak tartare with an egg yolk on top.
You knew the audio sucked, so you decided to compensate with offensively loud music.
That looks absolutely amazing. Most people I watch make this use a meat grinder. I had read that this is how its done...with a knife. I would love to try this place.
“Frees”
Brit go (br)exit for this one: Some people go crazy getting that fan of loveliness without logic and at the end it is NO FUN ! -> BREXIT
boeuf is pronounced berf with a short English r sound. I can't figure out why it is pronounced boof by Americans and food busker unless that is how it is said by French Canadians.
Simply beautiful! 🤤🥩
best French foods ever!!!!!! 💦
Oui Chef!
nice plug for your brother
"i just found this place" yeah right bud
Lmao put truffle in something, and call it high end. F.o.h.
chef: we ran out of gas after cooking the fries... oh wait...lets served it raw!
Yuuuuuuuuum
I had steak tartare at Caesars palace and it was terrible but it's definitely a dish i'd try again if i suddenly became rich and could eat at a proper decent restaurant and not a tourist trap.............they stole all my money too on roulette-(i lost it really)!
Toronto , Mmmmmm , yes that did look soooo good . When he carved that steak , I wish I was right there love meat me . Thankyou very much
Plus Toronto has a very sexy , famous snooker player OMG I use to miss work to watch him play , and I went crazy when he got 147 in live play , this man is The One And Only Kirk Stevens . Another tastie dish x
( sorry just had to tell you that , well you know Toronto , to me is home to this very lovely snooker player .

Saly :-)
I love Steak Tartare.. can you make a recipe video about it some time ?
@@foodbusker Yaas.. it would be amazing to see different types if beef compared using tartare because the raw form is sort of the purest form. But yeah just an idea I'm sure it'll be great mate 👌
Toronto’s food and drink scene is incredible. Was at Bellwoods right beside this weekend and it was packed within 15 minutes. Everything I’ve tried has been superb.
I love steak tartare! I make mine with round steak and I use a food processor. I think it turns out fine. I don't use all those ingredients; just the steak, egg, onion, salt and pepper. I serve it on buttered Westphalian pumpernickel bread, topped with hollandaise sauce. Add a Caesar salad on the side, and you have a complete meal.
That looks amazing. Never had raw yolk (at least where it's not been mixed in) but would be open to giving it a shot...
Mankind knew how to create fire for thousand years...iykwim
be funny if there was a fad that served raw fries, xD
LMAO
Does he makes an sausage or Tatar. o many ingredients
It looked nice on the plate but eating it raw, now that's scary
I’ve had this before, it’s to die for but super expensive
Are you still there from when you went camping on the lake?
But, it's not cooked? How can you eat that?
I could eat the meat but not a raw egg I tried before . I couldn't do it lol
Are you still in toronto? Got places to show you
No gloves? What if that dude pick his nose before preparing the meat?
It just adds to flavor.
What if he picks his nose with gloves on? Is it safe then?
I'm heading back home to toronto for the christmas/new years break! I'll be sure to give the place a try. Thanks for the great content as usual Quilter
At least the fries are cooked.
Did you grab some beer from Bellwoods too?
you need to lay off the soy and tofu and eat more of this
It starts on 2:19. Just saying...
thanks for the treat food busker really good! 8-)
Delicious looking.
Toronto really seems to be an incredibe place. This restaurant looked so cosy, too!
Props to the chef
let's play spot the thiccness
*Mr bean has left the chat*
I'd have to have it cooked
Looks great!
Love tartare ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Yo reppin' that Town Moto!
Y tho?
Welcome to my City mate!
The Tartare looks flippin amazing. But fries with it??? Damn this is a curious combination
That's the classic french combination.
calahan59 but not mine. A simple toasted bread would be enough for me.
So glad you stopped by there and filmed. I had this in France a few years ago absolutely brilliant and all my family and friends went yuk it’s raw I didn’t care it was gorgeous looking forward to the ramen up loads cheers 🍻
I have never tried Tartare, but I am only a couple of hours from Toronto, maybe on my next visit.
You must try it if you can it is yammie
@@jopieboot7064 Maybe next time I am up there.
I'm salivating...
Wow now that looks like an amazing steak tartar recipe!
Great stuff
Mr bean got me here

Was about to insult you for doing a video on steak tartare outside of France, but I have to say it is very much properly done. Good finding, nice seeing a cool video on this wonderful dish :)
You're serious?
Translation: I was going to be snob but realize my perspective prior to this video was limited and narrow.
Raw meat prepared with bare hands, nice!! Good luck with that!!
Why did I expect a cameo from Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas? Great video! Cheers.
I've never understood the appeal of raw meat , is it worth just having a go?
raw beef meat is really good. But you need to know a very good butcher that you can trust. Eat it the day you buy it. Then you do the tartare recipe you can see in the video and it's a blast for sure !
@@calahan59 It's not the hygiene that concerns me , it's the taste of raw meat. Does it actually have a lot of flavour?
@@grant1133 delicious. with shallots, cornichons, dijon mustard, and chopped parsley or chives it's so good. Youi can even spread it on bread or in a baguette with tobasco.
@@calahan59 Will give it a go then , thanks.
They make it so complicated! Filet is the best, sirloin next. Grind the meat, mix in finely chopped onion, one raw egg, salt, pepper. Spread on rye bread, with pickle on top. I criss cross meat on top...makes it more attractive. Parsley is for looks.
is it rare? :(
Yes it is rare but super yammie you must try it is delicious.
No, it is raw... not from ground beef but from a steak cut by hand.
It is a traditional French raw preparation that is super delicious when prepared by a good chef like this one. You do need an excellent piece of beef - one doesn't this with something from a standard budget supermarket.
Rare is slightly cooked. This is Raw so it's not heated at all.
@@golders99 I thought this was only on sushi dishes.
It's not a "film" mate, it's a RUclips video. So pretentious.
I like my beef cooked five stars or not raw meat isnt my cup of tea
I'm not eating that.
